Never heard a word from this place regarding the issues of double-charging my card after they cancelled my order, or from their manager, Kim, who refused to do a to-go order for my husband when he showed up in the restaurant letting her know of the problem--said "they were too busy". Wow, just wow! Good news is...Sam's Sushi is our new go-to and we will never return to this place! Their loss. read more

The sushi is good but everything else was very disappointing. I ordered pan fried calamari the photo looked delicious. What I got was what looked like 1/4 of a portion of just butter juice and very gross looking squid . I called and asked to return for a refund because it was nothing like photo. The person said she would call back and never did . The fried rice also was an extremely small portion . (Enough to feed our 1 year old) and it wasn't fried , it was sticky and mushy . If you only want sushi this is a good place to eat but if you are thinking about ordering anything else I would go to another place . read more

The food is good but they're AWFUL with quoting time on orders. My online order stated a 50 minute wait time. It took an hour and forty minutes- DOUBLE the time quoted. Waiting the extra 50 minutes for our food while our kids and baby sitter were expecting us at home was not an experience I want to remember or encounter again. Good sushi, reasonable prices and great if you have the time. My co-workers and I have ordered lunch from here for quite some time however the estimated wait for take out is typically 20-30 minutes no matter the size of the order and it isn't much different when you dine-in. We typically get their lunch special bento box to go as we don't have time to sit and you have your options to choose from for a great deal. I never have had an issue ordering it whether to go or dine in but each time I've ordered with the women who I believe to be the manager or owner, she tells me its more or I have to pay extra to go or the "dinner price" which is five dollars more. We all order from here quite often and this never happens with anyone else whether we order to go at the restaurant or not and it doesn't say it anywhere on the menu either. Again, good sushi but you can go to Joe's, Sam's or Misaki and get the similar deal without an "extra charge for to-go" with better quality sushi. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. My first time there last week and they were crowded when we walked in. They accommodated us right away and sat us in a booth. Despite them being super busy on a Friday evening, we were treated like special guests. The waiter immediately took our drink order and they have a generous pour. It came within a minute! The waiter took our food order and was oh so patient with us. We had questions and he took the time to answer each one despite his being busy. Our food came out within 5-10 minutes which was amazing considering all the tables were full. He came by not once, not twice but several times to check on us. The food was prepared perfectly and had to take half of it home. I had the Bento Box and highly recommend it. I'll be back! read more

Probably some of the best sushi ive ever had, the bomb.com and joshua tree are my two favorite rolls, and they have an excellent saba noodles bowl that has a ton of flavor. Over 1-1/2 hours on a early Sunday afternoon to receive our take out Sushi order. That is way too long no matter how good the 4 rolls we ordered were. No mention of the wait time when they accepted our money. Frustrating nonetheless without even an update or even better an apology. I just wish we would have brought our beach chairs and got a good tan in the parking lot. At least that would have been a better use of our time. Like many others giving reviews on Sushi On, the good and the bad are consistent to be prepared to deal with both when you put an order in. The Good: Food is always top notch. The Bad: you WILL WAIT for your order to be filled at the VERY LEAST 2X to 3X whatever amount of time they first tell you. If they tell you 20 minutes do not expect anything less than one hour - and that is in the middle of the day when their business is at its slowest. At peak forget about getting your meal in less than an hour and a half from the time of your order. The really bad thing is that they know this. Its not a new problem. I have been going here for over a year and its ALWAYS like this. They just don't care. There are other Sushi choices not far from here that are good. If you want you meal on time, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you have two hours to plan ahead, then this is your place. How pathetic is that? Seriously. read more

I really love really lunch here. The atmosphere is quaint, and unique for sushi. Most sushi places are either very traditional, or have an edge vibe. Sushi on as a unique and different feel as far as the real estate here goes, it's a very hidden gem, chances are if you aren't from the neighborhood around you might miss this place... however that's why I'm writing this review. The sushi is incredibly fresh, affordable, and the service is phenomenal. My server Amanda was so sweet and accommodating. The last 2 times I've been in, have been a rush and each time she has been amazing in getting my food to me and me out the door. I cannot stress how much I appreciated her service as other sushi places the servers can seem standoffish or indifferent, especially if you don't order alcohol. This review is for a take out order we are currently waiting for. We placed the order and were told 55 minutes, which we understood was reasonable for Sat. night. It's now been almost 2 hours and we are still waiting on our food, with no apology or offer to comp the kitchen items holding the order up. Even if the food is delicious we won't be back as this was our first experience with this restaurant and it was terrible. From reading other Yelp reviews it seems this issue is a theme for this restaurant, so would not recommend getting takeout from here. read more

Sushi On is off the hook... Amazing Truffle Salmon Carpaccio. One of the best bites I've had in a long time and I don't say that lightly. Beautiful sunset over the mountains as you're eating sushi --what could be better especially when the sushi is top notch fresh and amazing in it's flavors. I cannot speak to the complaints about take-out orders and time, but I can say that as a sit-down restaurant this place rocks. The fish is all top quality. There is a good selection of rolls, appetizers, nigiri and sashimi. The sake choices are good. The kitchen puts out the food in a timely manner. I will be back frequently. read more

Before my last visit, I'd have given Sushi ON a 5 star rating. We're new to the area and found what we thought was a gem. We had company from out of town and I had been raving about Sushi ON so took her there for dinner. We ordered three sushi rolls, some edamame and our guest ordered a sashimi plate. Our rolls came and we waited and waited for the sashimi plate. We inquired 3 times and each time were told it would be up soon. We were over half way through our rolls when the third time, she told the waitress to cancel the order. Lo and behold, she appeared within seconds with it. My friend, who BTW is 92 y/o, was gracious and said she would take the order. When the bill came I questioned the waitress about a discount or something. She understood and went to speak with the manager. She returned saying that because the knives have to be so sharp to cut the sashimi, the chef must be super focused. WHAT??? Does that mean if we had been the only customers there and he wasn't distracted by other orders, hers would have come out the same time as ours? I felt badly for the waitress as she had to deliver that stupid excuse. In other establishments, the manager would have come to the table, apologized and offered a discount or removed the item from the bill altogether. All that being said, the food is great. We used to drive to Riverside for good sushi at a place where we met friends from out of the area. Our go to sushi spot locally was CJ's but tragically they're no longer there. After trial and error we found Sushi On. The food is consistently great! The staff is very nice and accommodating. We have had a couple of times that service was slow but we weren't in a hurry and a couple times where it seemed disorganized but with the way the world today is with staffing shortages, etc it's bound to happen occasionally to the best of businesses. Ridiculous service. Made an online pickup order on a Tuesday evening and came in 35 mins after like they suggested. I gave the server my name when I came in, she told me it was not ready. I waited another 30 MINUTES before I asked another worker where my food was. She checked again and said they did not "press" on the order when it came in so they had not even started on it. I don't understand how after giving them my name and standing there for half an hour in front of them, it still didn't click in their head to check once. I just canceled the order and went to a different place, I just hope they give me my refund. read more

The wait time for the sushi was insane. I had seen multiple people come in and out with orders bigger than mine. I was here for almost an hour waiting on one roll. They were not busy at all, seeing it was a Tuesday, so I don't understand how the chefs struggled this much for one simple roll. The only reason I am giving this place any stars is because of the poor girls that had to serve the sushi that took forever; they were very nice. Came with my sushi loving boyfriend. We both love trying new sushi places around the desert. Came for the location! Great atmosphere. We sat at a booth near the bar so got to see all the fun action. Andrea served us and she was lovely. She was sweet and kind and made cute jokes when she brought us our rolls. The Mr. ordered a Hawaiian roll and she approached him with an "Aloha!" Too cute. We also ordered the Popcorn Lobster and the Shooting Star. She told me to make a wish.. heehee. All the rolls are pretty big, so good for the price! The music selection was also pretty great. I love sushi, but cant have the rice due to flare ups. So, I usually always order my sushi without it. No problems anywhere else with my request. The waitress this time around was snarky and tried to convince me that the rice was NEEDED for it to be rolled, which is bull, but I didnt want to be a karen as business are just now opening up for dine in and I didnt want to be that person. So, she suggested a hand roll instead and I agreed as long as there was no rice in it. I waited a while before I got my order and I was still given a giant heap of rice in each roll with legit one or 2 pieces of small salmon. My wife and I have come here multiple times to dine in and have enjoyed ourselves. However, today we picked up ramen to go and I paid an extra $3 to add sliced pork in mine and I got 2 tiny pieces of pork which is a rip off. Also my wife got a ramen with pork already included and she got just 1 nasty fatty piece. Without the meat you're literally paying $11 for noodles with broth. I can make that at home for $1, it's called top ramen. When I called, the hostess offered for us to drive all the way back and that's pretty much it. There was no real resolution to make things right with the customer. It was a disappointment because we actually did like coming here, but next time we will pick another place to get ramen. read more
