This place is a nice casual upscale sushi place. The quality and atmosphere feel elevated. There's even a pub on the other side of it called luckys. If you come during their happy hour the prices are very reasonable. I feel like the quality of sushi you're getting reflects well with the prices. The servers are attentive as well. The only complaint I had with the service was they didn't explain how the Kobe beef rock was-like you had to cook it on the rock. I got the lunch special with two rolls of maki combo. The two rolls I got was the volcano and shrimpolicious. The volcano sushi roll was a bit disappointing in that it was loaded with so much crawfish but the sauces overpowered it. I feel like you only get this dish if you want something pretty to look at since they light it on fire for you. The shrimpolicuous was the star of the show and it was delicious. The sauces paired well and blended into the roll. The yuzu honey was different and definitely brighten the roll. I got the Kobe beef on a rock and this one is pretty neat you get a hot stone to cook the meat on and it comes with two different sauces which I am unsure what it was since the server didn't introduce it. My only guess is it was a type of wasabi sauce mixed with something and then an aioli sauce. It's better to put some sauce on the meat before you place it on the rock because the meat gets stuck to the rock. I tried the lychee martini it had a piece of dragon fruit and two lychee pieces on a stick. The alcohol was strong in this and you only get a hint of the lychee. This drink was a bit pricey for what you're getting. GET THE LOBSTER PUFFS these were absolutely delicious. Perfect crispy crunch and the inside was better than any crab puffs I've had before. Overall, I'd most definitely come back. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

So...I was in the area again, and in search of toro nigiri, so against my better judgement I grabbed a dragon cocktail, lobster crab puffs and about 6 pieces of nigiri before my exercise class. Good news! I do not regret my choice for a second. Sitting at the bar affords guests the bonus of watching each dish come to life, and is consistently one of my favorite seats in the house. Although this spot is expensive, I still stand by the following dishes: the shishito peppers (see my review below), the lobster crab puffs when fresh (my gosh, this eggroll shaped variation of the crab puff is certainly an improvement to the classic dish), salmon toro, and toro nigiri. Each nigiri came dressed, and of the 6, apart from the two mentioned above, the additional nigiri pieces were nice, but not super memorable. A lover of Madai, I'd certainly order this one again, but I can't say it's my favorite Madai within a 2 mile radius. With dozens of sushi options in the area, this spot continues to lure me in. Until someone offers Madai, Toro, lobster crab puffs and shishitos that can compare, I don't see that changing anytime soon :).
Love this restaurant. This place is always so consistent with the food quality & customer service. I had to give them a review, I've been coming here for years and every-time I bring a new friend they love it too! Plus the aesthetics are so cutesy, everytime I go it's pretty chill but I do make a reservation just in case.

This was in walking distance from our hotel and we didn't want something as heavy as the Italian or pub food next door. We were promptly seated on a Monday evening at 7:30 pm and the interior decor is quite nice. I ordered the Rocket Combo: bbq short ribs, dynamite shrimp, blue crab fried rice for $33. While it offered nice variety, I could make better at home. The flavors seemed westernized and the fried rice was a little dry. At least we didn't have to walk too far to get back to our hotel.
I had a wonderful experience at post oak sushi, their customer service is outstanding and the volcano roll and blue crab sushi were INCREDIBLE! Thank you Alex and Victor for an unforgettable experience, I can't wait to indulge again.
A nice place to go with colleagues or friends. The service is good, the happy hour discounted beverages are a must, and you can't go wrong with the appetizers. I had the blue crab fried rice, which had generous chunks of crab and tasted fresh. The creme brulee was so good our table ordered 3! Will definitely be back to try more menu items :)

I am sorry I don't remember his name, or I would give a shout out. I opted for the two specialty roll lunch special... surf and turf roll and blazing tuna. Both were so good, I never even poured soy sauce. I don't think I've ever done that! Why wife ate a bunch of sashimi. I almost fainted when I saw the prices, but my wife assured me this place was known for its high quality fish. I'll give 'em that, because there were some fish on the menu I'd never heard of. By the way, there was no stumping or waiter; all questions my wife hurled at him were fielded expertly. He seemed to know everything there was to know about every fish and how it would taste. Impressive. My wife thought all of her sashimi was incredible. I, on the other hand, always struggle with prices for sushi. Let's just say I'm glad I opted for the two-roll lunch special...as I'm just not sure those rolls individually are worth their normal price tag. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd recommend this place for a nicer date spot. Definitely not an everyday lunch spot.

For the Japanese Whiskey, the Hibiki Harmony is very "Petey" , and very scotch like. It's good, just be aware. The Thai Chili Yellowtail was outstanding. Great flavor, and served great. Has a kick of spice , with the citrus flavor. Loved it. The Golden Citrus Kanpachi was very flavorful. Great for on or two people to share; 2 bites each. The Blazing Tuna Roll was great. Good serving of a large roll, with a spicy kick with sweet eel sauce. I had them keep out the cream cheese, even better. DO the Uni sushi, ...Add the Quail Egg... you're welcome. My server Jordan gave me some great recommendations and was very attentive. Had a good night.

We came to celebrate Valentine's Day and definitely enjoyed our time! They had a Valentine's Day menu but it was on the pricey side for the portions sizes we were seeing at surrounding tables (we heard a couple nearby comment as well) so we opted for the regular menu. I love that they still gave us the option because a lot of places force you to order from a menu of things you don't want. I had 2 sushi rolls and they were on the smaller side as far as size compared to other sushi places nearby at the same caliber/price point but they tasted great. Our waitress was the sweetest, but pretty much everyone was really nice and attentive. The food arrived quickly and the restaurant was cozy, clean and moody which I loved! I'd definitely come back and encourage others to visit if you're curious!
So we pretty much went to town. We came in after putting in reservations elsewhere and having to wait almost 45 minutes and detoured to sushi at post oak. We were not disappointed. Everything from lobster cheese rolls to dessert were fantastic. And the service was phenomenal. It's a beautiful place not super spacious but I will say these guys know what they are doing. We had a large party so we all kind of bartered and traded bites of eachothers dishes. And there were maybe 2 items I wouldn't order again but there were no leftovers for a party of 7 so that pretty much says it all. read more

I met a friend for dinner at Sushi on Post Oak and it did not disappoint. We opted for the larger of the two omakase, which I don't believe typically includes a caviar bite but we got it in lieu of an uni as they were out of it. Overall the food was great, and high quality--exactly what you hope for when you opt for sushi. Service was attentive but not enough to seem brazen-they gave us the space we needed to catch up over our bites, but noticed when our plates were empty. I think I should like to come again soon read more

Beautiful upscale restaurant however in my opinion the food and service were very mediocre. Upon arrival the hostess asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar even though I had selected standard sitting upon reserving this restaurant. Then after letting them know I wanted to not sit at the bar they gave me a table. The waiter showed up asking me if I had chosen something and had to let them know I just had gotten there. Some other waiter showed up with a roll of sushi and had to let them know I haven't ordered yet. I ordered the misu soup, spicy edemame, and Sake. These were all great specially the spicy edemame. However their most popular sushi roll, choo choo roll was very mediocre and it tasted sweet barely tasted any of the spiciness as described in the menu. Their dessert though was great. I got the Mochi trio ice cream which included green tea, mango, and strawberry. Overall not a bad place, maybe other sushi rolls and food would be better however their service needs a bit of work. read more

This was my first and definitely not the last time having a sushi date with the bestie here. This place is so much more than sushi and the pictures do it no justice.A couple things were off menu but everything was amazing. The (unnamed) fried cabbage dish was a symphony! No notes, so fresh, flavorful and visually appealing. The scallop was my first impression bite and I had high hopes from then on. The butter sauce was so good we had to run it back with a flaky salmon. The short rib came out sizzling and dazzled with flavor. The Thai chili wraps were so good. Not too saucy so we could really taste the spices. The staff was so kind Linda really made a wonderful experience. Chefie was really putting in labors of love back there, could tell in every bite. Perfect for a date or girls night the vibes were there and the food is the star. read more

Everything was delicious! Our server, Austin, was amazing as well and gave us great suggestions on both food and drinks! We were celebrating 2 graduates as well, so he brought us all glasses of prosecco at the end of the meal. If you go, ask for Austin's section! We started the meal with sake and lychee martini's and they did not disappoint! The we got some soups and the Either Wonder appetizer (the only picture I remembered to take), uni and foie gras... chef's kiss for all of them! Then for rolls we got Lickety Split roll, Black Widow roll, Mango Salmon roll, Arata roll, and Kanpai roll. Every single bite was fresh and swoon worthy - we were shocked that there wasn't a single thing that we ate that everyone was 100% satisfied with! If you're in the uptown area and like sushi, look no further. This place is quaint with great service, modern chic decor, and delicious sushi. Stopped in with a friend for lunch, we ordered 3 rolls to share, and the blue crab fried rice. The rice was okay. I feel it needed a sauce to elevate it a bit or a tad more seasoning to make it pop. Rolls Phili squared 8/10 so fresh, and the lemon on top made it so refreshing Shrimp o'licious 9/10 had a bit of a kick, and each bite is a new explosion of flavor. Have you ever eaten something, and it gets better with each bite? This is the experience Eel tuna roll 8/10 nice flavors tour standard sushi roll. I love the ambiance, the decoe the service, the location, and the food. It connects to an Irish pub, which is pretty cool. I'll definitely be back to try a few more items on the menu. read more

Went here for the first time to celebrate my post birthday lunch with my friends and loved it! It was a Sunday and there was a soccer match going on, the bar besides this restaurant was kind of linked I guess the kitchen was the same we could hear the soccer fans cheering and lifting up the atmosphere! The restaurant is a cute place it has a bar inside too and very cute decor! Very good lighting for daytime as well for aesthetic pictures! We ordered different sushi plates and rolls (the rolls had about 6-8 pieces) and the sushi plate was good enough to be shared having about 10-12 pieces The California snow crab roll was delicious! I also ordered the lickety split and it was really good too! The service was good too, takes some time waiting but worth it! Would definitely go here again. All fresh sushi was good quality seafood, so if you are into raw sushi, this is the place to go! Great for date night, day dates, large friend groups and family gatherings. The atmostphere is Not too friendly for kids but you can bring them. Alcoholic drinks were amazing and flavorful! My friend chose this place to have dinner at and I thought it was decent. The restaurant is beautiful but very small (12-14 tables inside). We came here on a Friday night as a walk in and were told it would be a 2 hour wait for a table, so we chose to sit at the bar. I ordered the arata roll and my friend orders the volcano roll. The arata roll was OK, not my favorite but the volcano roll was delicious. The rolls are on the smaller side and pretty pricey. I thought the service was good, our server checked up on us frequently. This place is fantastic! It was one of our favorite sushi places ever. Top 5 for sure! Every sushi roll we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the umami roll. They make a lot of spicy rolls which I love, but they can take out any spicy ingredients for those who like something more mild. The balance of flavors was amazing. They were bursting with flavor without being drowned in sauces. Service was great. They have a great alcohol list and we loved our cocktails. We also ordered edamame and pan seared gyoza. Had a pretty good experience dining in here. The restaurant looks nice with interesting decor. Service was good, food came pretty fast. Tried several meal options and ALL were very tasty except the pork katsu (meat was tough) and the veggies (bland taste) in curry dish, but curry sauce itself was great! read more
