Their specials like the Edison roll are worth the visit alone. The place is typically very busy around dinner time but I've been there many times and can tell you that they aren't always crowded. Apparently this is a continuous issue with Sushi Palace but I was under the assumption that attempting to force customers to pay more in tip was not only not allowed but extremely rude. I failed to check yelp before going but now I see that someone else had the same issue. The waitress took the receipt book and as she was walking away she opened it and then proceeded to come back and tell us how much each of us tipped (we had separate checks), since tipping is based on service and I thought the service was mediocre at best and I also thought the waitress was getting ruder by the minute the tip came out smaller than she would have liked. When telling us we didn't tip enough she left the receipt book on our table again but not before leaning on our table and staring into our eyes as if she were a teacher telling us right from wrong. This is not the only sushi place of its kind so it's safe to say this location is a waste of time and money. read more

I was there today for lunch. We were the first and only table there for the first 30 minutes. It took at least 30 minutes to even get our appetizers. The service there is terrible. Crystal should not be working there. She was extremely rude! She ripped up my order sheet when I asked why it was taking so long to bring my sashimi order out. There were only 2 tables there after an hour of waiting for our sashimi to arrive. The other two waitresses barely understood English. Tried this new place about a month ago. Have to say I was skeptical of the quality of 'all you can eat' and the price, about $20 pp seemed too good to be true. You can order from the regular menu at ala carte prices or the all you can eat menu. There was a very good variety of every course on the all you can eat menu. I like how they cooked everything fresh as you ordered it and you could choose just a piece or two of appetizers instead of a whole portion so you were able to enjoy a wide variety of items. I don't know whats happened to this place but the service and quality have gone down. I did the all you can eat this past Tuesday. The place was packed.My friend and I placed our order and we got everything all at once. Which is hard to space out on the small tables. They forgot our salads and I had to ask 3 times for it (20min). Then the 2 sushi rolls where wrong but since it took so long for our salads I was afraid to wait another 20min for my correct sushi. Our waitress never came back over to check if we wanted refills on our drinks or more food. I had to flag down a different waitress to let her know we wanted the bill. The sushi quality itself has gone down also. The tuna seems tasteless. I know it is all you can eat so maybe I'm being too picky on my sushi quality. I have not tried the Udon or Teriyaki. read more

I was charged the all you can eat price, although no one ever said that's what I was getting, and there were no prices on the menu... The potstickers were tiny, and there were only two of them, and the rolls were sub-par. The fact that you can get to order UNLIMITED sashimi, sushi rolls, hand rolls, and specialty rolls for $20 lunch/$22 dinner is already a warning sign. any good quality fish will cost you more than that, but I thought I would give it a try (in fact, 3 tried before rating this place, not worth your money). There are a few points I'd like to make about this place: - The service was bad, the server do not understand English very well and we notice all the 3 times we were there, they completely changed the server....that's a second warning sign about a restaurant. Why would it keep changing server if there were anything "fishy" about the place. - They also offer other dishes such as tofu. seaweed salad, edamame, udon, chicken katsu , but don't order too much because one time we didn't get our first place of sushi until 45 mins after we seat down. We ordered kitchen food couple of rounds and by the time we get the sushi, we weren't able to finish. We had a few pieces let but the manager came out and said they would have to charget us $10 for the few pieces left over sushi, well if we weren't waiting for so long for our sushi, we wouldn't have to order couple rounds of kitchen hot food. Overall. this is one of the worse quality of ingredients ever. I can't see why you should waste your money on bad food and service. read more

As previous reviewers have mentioned you have the option of ordering a la carte or "all you can eat" (which includes sushi and non-sushi items) for about $22 as of this writing (less on weekdays). Yes the place can fill up fast later in the evenings, the last couple of times we've gone around 6PM and didn't have to wait. But the fact that there's often a wait to be seated at prime time tells you something about the place, no? 2 of our favorites -- not necessarily unique, but very well done -- peanut/avacado roll and as another reviewer mentioned, surprisingly good with wasabi + soy sauce; and the edison roll, essentially a shrimp tempura roll with the addition of minced spicy crab on the outside.
