We had dinner in Oakland before most of the restaurants in the area closes at 8:30. I've been meaning to try Sushi Park. I ordered the Unagi Don with rice and seaweed accompanied with miso soup and salad. The unagi was very tender and serving, generous. Husband had teriyaki chicken and rice which also was very tender and savory. Next time I'd like to try their sushi. Staff, welcoming and graceful.

Caught in mid commute hour traffic, I decided to wait out the traffic and have dinner before heading home. Along Park Boulevard, there are several places to choose. Sushi Park's sign pop into view. So I paid a visit to this intimate family run sushi restaurant. Walking in i was greeting immediately and warmly. I had choice of seating so I took a seat by the sushi bar. I ordered the tempura and sashimi dinner combination. This bento box came with miso soup, salad, rice along with the tempura and sashimi. The tempura was hot out of the fryer. The sashimi pieces were nicely wrapped like ribbons in my box. The fish was fresh yet they had a neutral taste. The meal was fulfilling and environment was very family friendly. The combination was very wallet friendly as well.

Yummy & nice neighborhood sushi spot. Chefs & staff were friendly & gave us complimentary plum wine to end our sushi dinner. Everything was fresh & great. May need to park in streets but a must try if in area.

Finding great sushi is always an adventurous journey... While Sushi Park didn't quite hit the mark, I can't rave enough about the service! The ladies who work here are so nice and are very attentive to all of their guests. My twin boys (4) were treated so well and were even given a belated birthday Mango Mochi Ice Cream. So while the food wasn't the highlight, it does not mean it wasn't good, it was decent. Based on food alone, it's a solid 6.5/10, but when you factor in the staff, I'd give them a 8.5/10, with the staff as the highlight!

They posted their hours as closing at 9:30 PM on their menu and on their door, but they told us 9:00 PM to try to rush us out because we had gotten there (late to them apparently) at 8 PM! (See pic of posted closing time.) This was unsettling because it's unprofessional for one, and, two, I especially hate being rushed to eat. Admittedly, most of the fish on the sushi was more or less fresh, but the Ebi (Shrimp) was very chewy, almost rubbery. So do not order! Also, the sushi rice was really a letdown. It almost tasted like plain Japanese sticky rice; there was barely any hint of seasoning--bereft of rice vinegar or sugar (or at least mirin). If you've never tried to make sushi rice, trust me when I say these are essentials. The server even tried to sell us down to the Sushi Regular when we ordered the Sushi Deluxe, saying the latter was really too big. Huh? Which eating establishment tries to sell you down?? Some might actually do because they have that rare altruistic heart when they don't think you can come close to finishing it. But upon seeing what actually came as the deluxe, which wasn't super big, Sushi Park is clearly not one of them. I felt the server was just trying to sell us down because she didn't want the sushi chefs to have to take longer to make a bigger order, and they all didn't want us to linger longer eating when they had planned to close earlier for the night. The server was also abrupt and not very engaging, again and in keeping with the "trying to rush us out" theme. Also, be warned, parking is tough there since there aren't that many spaces and there are a lot of storefronts competing for foot traffic.

Average. No a/c, as many small eateries in Oakland. Saving energy vs comfort of dining. The weather in San Francisco cool, a/c isn't really necessary. Food is average as well. The neighborhood feels calm and neat but is there is a bullet at the store next door?

*Open for indoor dining, outdoor dining, and takeout* Came here for dinner with a friend on a weeknight around 6. We were glad there wasn't a long line ahead of us. The service was quick and efficient. We got a couple rolls and shared a beer. The sushi rolls were a little limited and not super Japanese, but decent experience overall.

I decided to venture out and order something that wasn't one of those items, and honestly, I was underwhelmed. (Spoiler: it was the scallop roll.) It just wasn't for me. That said, their sashimi sets are fresh, and their baked rolls are consistently good, so I'd recommend sticking with those. SERVICE: 9/10 Friendly, attentive staff who made for a pleasant dining experience. AMBIANCE: 9/10 The restaurant is very clean, but my favorite part is the outdoor patio. The East Bay-inspired murals add so much character, and the fresh flowers make the space feel inviting. They also have outdoor heaters when it gets chilly, so it's a great spot to enjoy a meal outside. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but overall it's still a solid sushi spot that I wouldn't mind coming back to.

Location- easily accesible in off Piedmont Ave, found parking alongside an adjacent neighborhood street that was free. I went around 430pm on a weekday. 2. Staff/Vibe- very friendly and throughout the service so many stopped by to check-in. Waters were constantly topped off and food was delivered very promptly. The restaurant itself is very intimate and tabletop dividers are largely used to shared tables. It was a really nice approach. I wasn't a major fan of the chairs for the tall tables. I was hoping for some more ergonomically friendly. Food- SIGNATURE RAMEN- 5/5. So good. The broth was so good I think I drank it all before eating any ramen and toppings. It was a wonderfully hearty ramen with a balance of fresh and simple ingredients. This was perfect and allowed the delicious broth to really be the star. LAMB RAMEN. 5/5. If you like south indian curries then this is a must. The dense cumin taste, fresh onions and lamb made this ramen feel very familiar. The flavours were so wonderfully constructed on this. VEGAN KAARAGE MUSHROOM. Made to be reminiscent of fried chicken, these were very pleasant and paired with our broth. I would order this again. I am interested in knowing the preparation method for this as the inside was piping hot while the outside was just warm- almost like it was reheated. I would like these to be crispier with a bit more light seasoning. Overall looking forward to the next visit!

The quality of the fish was excellent, everything tasted fresh, and you could really appreciate the simplicity of each hand roll. The rice was well-seasoned, and every bite highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. The premium hand rolls were definitely the stars, fatty, flavorful, if you're a fan of uni and wagyu you have to try it. The Maguro Ponzu and Tuna Tartare was refreshing and light, it's a great appetizer to share between hand rolls. That said, I have to be honest, it is kinda pricey. The premium hand rolls add up quickly, so it's definitely more of a treat-yourself kind of meal rather than an everyday sushi spot. Still, if you're willing to spend on fresh hand rolls, it's worth checking them out.

I usually assume veggie handrolls in a set are more of a filler item, but this one was so savory and flavorful that it honestly deserves its own little spotlight. The absolute star of the meal, though, was the Best Catch Box: negitoro, uni, ikura, and Hokkaido scallops all in one bowl?! Literally all of my favorite things together for only $29. I could eat 2 of these with a bowl of rice and it would be a hearty meal! + Chicken karaage was solid--crispy, good portion, and a nice appetizer. It's basically a Japanese version of chicken strips that is way better than nuggets. + Salmon sashimi for the kids never disappoints. ~ Chirashi bowl was fresh and filling, though standard compared to other spots.
