I came to Sushi Pop for a weekday dinner with my friend and really enjoyed it! They menu consists of a variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and a few rice bowls and noodle dishes if you're not feeling sushi. I ordered the Euclid roll and enjoyed it! We were also given tempura that had stuffed imitation crab in it on the house and thought that was very good (and so nice of them!). Service here is super friendly and attentive. The store itself is on the casual side, but is cozy. When I came on a weekday at around 7, there was no wait. It is located in a strip mall with a lot of parking. Overall, this is a solid sushi spot!

Stated that wait time was 20 minutes have been waiting over 40 minutes. Was about to get seated by one employee, but female employee intervened and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Mind you there are empty tables and we are holding a 1 year old infant. Wish all employees would be more considerate of their customers. To top it off I over heard a table raising a concern about their meat being undercooked. Get more staff please, do better. This place has gone DOWNHILL. Last time we visit this place until they can hire more employees

Foods great! Service is ok. Vibe is a little eclectic but love this place I had the summer roll. The dinner plate everything was so good an presentation on point. Also had the sake bomb for drinks. Great value

After a movie with the grandkids, they really wanted to get some sushi. We looked on Yelp, and this spot had decent reviews and was super close by, so we decided to try it out. The kids had a California roll, a poke bowl, and shrimp tempura. I tried the Alaskan roll and the udon soup. Everything was good, although a bit on the pricier side. The service is friendly and quick, and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere.

Food is really good but sushi chef (might be owner) needs to get training or help because at the time that I arrived they didn't have much customers besides 2 families and he kept going off on his employee which if she did anything wrong I would suggest to talk to her maybe in the back but he kept yelling and making comments in front of everyone which made everyone very uncomfortable again food is good and service from that employee was amazing but that chef or owner needs to fix that

Came back again and food was just as good! The crunch roll was very delicious and fish was very fresh. We got Morgan as our server and he was very kind and checked up on us multiple times! Loved the ice cream here too

my personal favorite and most popular Review I had such a great experience here. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and served warm and timely--exactly how you want it when you're craving something satisfying. Every dish came out with consistent quality, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Our waiter was truly exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. They checked in at the perfect moments, made great recommendations, and kept everything flowing smoothly. It really elevated the whole dining experience. Overall, delicious food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable sushi spot.

Strawberry ice cream on the house.

I've passed by this restaurant on numerous occasions and stopped by for the first time today. Our waiter Haram (very sweet albeit the name haha) was so sweet and attentive. The restaurant has a fun lively atmosphere especially with their 90s and 80s hits playlist. We ordered the poke bowl, sashimi bowl and the lobster dynamite bowl. Usually poke bowls at sushi places are quite small with the spare cuts of meat. To my surprise there was plenty of fish, perfect amount of yummy sauces, and a large portion. The food was beautifully presented as well. The fish itself wasn't the freshest (mom and I went 6pm Thursday). They even served us quite a large portion of ice cream, and 2 sushi pieces on the house.

    Is it AYCE sushi place?

It used to have AYCE, but they stopped during pandemic shutdown and then never brought it back due to inflationary pressure on the cost of fish and other ingredients.

    Is it a buffet?

They do not have a buffet.

Is your raw fish flash frozen before serving?

    Is AYCE back? Thanks!

Went there on 08/22/2021 and the person at the front said they will not be bringing AYCE back

Does the whole table need to get AYCE?

    No, but it's not shareable!

    Is ayce available?

    It's not available yet

    Are they doing ayce?

We were there last week and they were NOT doing ayce yet.

Are they doing ayce during COVID? And is there outdoor seating?

    There is no outdoor seating

When will you guys be open for dine in?

    They have dine in now

How much is their AYCE for lunch on Saturday? Thanks!

    $22.99 before 3:30pm $27.99 after 3:30pm

How much is all u can eat sushi per person?

I believe the price per person for the AYCE is $27.50

Is the sashimi AYCE too? Or do you have to have rice?

With the dinner menu, you have like 5 choices of fish, which you can order one serving of each. Not AYCE but you get a lot of fish.

How much is all you can eat sushi here?

I think lunch is about $22 and dinner is $25-$28

    How much is AYCE?

    Ayce is 25.99

    How is the ramen here?

I haven't had the ramen but my lunch-mate who isn't an afficionado said it wasn't great.

    How much is AYCE?

It was $24.95 per person when we went

    How much is AYCE?

    26.99

Do you have to do ayce?

Nope. They have a great selection on a-la-carts sushi and other foods as well.

Has anybody eaten at both Sushi Damu AND at Sushi Pop in Fullerton? Which is better? Thanks!

I love both but sushi pop is my regular spot. Service and price is way better. Quality at damu is slightly better but not enough to make me choose it over sushi pop!

Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

Go to any sushi joint you want... you've got ONE chef slinging fish, totally backed up, trying his best to keep pace, and all the while losing attention to detail and presentation. CRnS always has 3 sometimes 4 Chef's behind the line. The result is faster service.... Of course.... But presentations that are almost too pretty to eat... but, it's sushi, so we eat them anyway. And third, the servers.... They are pretty consistent....There are not new servers every other week like some lesser joints. You get familiar with them and they get familiar you. Which leads me to James! James is awesome, polite, helpful, attentive, and just does a great job. I could never do it.... My girlfriend has been to Kaori Sushi several times with her girlfriends, so when everyone decided…read moreto turn it into a triple date, we ended up with a party of six and collectively decided to go for the omakase. Now, I should probably explain that I am VERY new to seafood. My girlfriend has slowly been introducing me to sushi and different types of fish, and I've discovered some things I absolutely love and others that I still can't get past. So when everyone said omakase, I'll admit, I was a little intimidated. But as someone currently on a mission to explore seafood, challenge accepted. We started with the cucumber sunomono, and this was an excellent way to begin. I added some fresh ginger and absolutely loved it. Light, refreshing and immediately had me excited for what was coming next. Then came the asari clam miso soup. This one wasn't really for me, but I gave it a solid try! That's basically the entire point of this seafood adventure anyway. Next was the chef's choice sashimi, which I believe included salmon belly and yellowtail, and this was REALLY good. Beautiful cuts, great texture and flavor. Raw fish continues to be where I'm finding my happy place. Then came the main event: the nigiri. This was probably the most adventurous I've gotten with seafood yet. We had everything from uni and bluefin toro to kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and unagi. I especially loved some of the lighter-colored fish with the bright, citrusy yuzu flavors. Those were easily some of my favorites. The food also started coming FAST. I remember scarfing down what I thought was my last piece of nigiri only for another plate to immediately appear with the unagi and black cod. I've learned from my previous seafood adventures that I really like unagi, and that held true here. The unagi was delicious. Black cod, however, has now gotten multiple chances from me and I think I'm finally ready to admit we're just not meant for each other. There's a particular fishy flavor that I haven't been able to get past. We finished the omakase with the negi toro hand roll, cut in two, and by the end I felt like I'd just completed an entire crash course in sushi. We also added a few things outside the omakase, including jalapeño bombs and chicken karaage. And after ALLLLLL that sushi... The chicken karaage was my favorite thing of the night. I know. I know. I survived an entire omakase, tried uni, toro, kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and eel...and walked away talking about the fried chicken. But that karaage HIT. Overall, this was an awesome experience and I'm genuinely glad my girlfriend convinced me to jump into the deep end. The omakase helped me try several types of fish I probably never would have ordered individually and, more importantly, helped me figure out what I actually enjoy. Would I do the omakase again? Probably not, but that's not a knock against it at all. I feel like it accomplished exactly what I wanted it to. Next time I'd love to come back knowing what I like and explore the rest of the menu, maybe a bento or another entrée. For a former "I'm not a seafood guy" slowly figuring out that maybe I actually am a seafood guy...Kaori Sushi was one hell of a training session.

I noticed that they had good reviews on Yelp and they were nearby so why not? We walked in close to the end of their lunchtime. They have some parking right at the front but I know that plaza can get very busy specially for breakfast time so not a problem for sushi. They have a few offers on the signs outside for lunch menu and a different Omakase. My boyfriend really wanted to try the luxury Omakase since it included a lot of courses and we were hungry. The staff were really friendly and we got sat on the bar. They have some table tables and then they have the large bar area. They have a very modern clean feel and it is family friendly. They do offer some alcohol. I noticed the refrigerator with look like sake and other alcohol. We decided to order draft beer and the luxury omakase. We were warned that they were a lot of dishes, but we were up for a challenge. I will say that the pricetag of $105 is definitely worth it. This is now my number one sushi spot in the area no doubt about it. Every single piece was delicious. The chef will prepare the piece and put them on the top of the bar for us to grab. My absolute favourite one was the sear black cod it would melt on your mouth. We will definitely be back for the omakase and we are also curious of trying the regular menu.
