I love Take Sushi! Today, I was craving sushi, and found Take Sushi on Yelp. I ordered ahead, and my rolls were ready very quickly! I tried three of their $9.99 rolls: the sexy roll (lol), the spicy tuna crispy rice roll, and the zen roll. It was hard to choose--- there are 22 different rolls to pick from at that $9.99 price point, and they all looked delicious! Take Sushi is in an unassuming little shop in an industrial zone near the airport, mostly surrounded by car shops. At first, I thought I had the wrong address until I saw their sign. It's a very small store, staffed by a very sweet lady and a gentleman. I was the only person there--- I think it's mainly a pick-up type of spot. She was so nice, and when I got back to the car I noticed that every single container was neatly labeled with the name of the roll inside, and each had a cute little smiley face doodled on the styrofoam The food was SO fresh and delicious, and it was so nice to have extra utensils, napkins, and ginger to share. My particular favorite was the sexy roll (the name makes me laugh). It's this delicious little roll cut vertically, and each piece is wrapped with a silky thin cucumber slice. It was delightful! I only took pictures of the crispy tuna (because it was the first one to go---- after eating that one, I got lost in the sauce and forgot to take photos!). 5 stars isn't enough for Take Sushi off Gilbert! This place was beyond amazing. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. The portions were generous, the food was beautiful, and every bite was the kind of delicious that makes you wonder why anyone would go anywhere else for this type of food. The chicken, rice, sushi, salad, and sides were all so good, and the flavors worked perfectly together. It felt like a full, satisfying meal without anything being boring or thrown in just to fill the box. You can tell they know what they're doing. What made it even better was how kind they were to my husband and son. They were so welcoming, patient, and sweet with my family, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Good food is one thing, but when a place treats your family with that much kindness, it really stands out. It made us feel taken care of, not just served. I genuinely don't understand why people would choose another spot when Take Sushi is right here. This is officially my go-to for sushi/Japanese food in the area. A rad lil take out sushi place. Can order online for pickup or in person. It's take out only which is fine by us. Normally I'm not a fan of inari but theirs has changed my mind. The Sapporo had bold flavors and was topped with yellowtail, albacore, green onion, garlic ponzu, and sriracha. The Rainbow Roll was fresh, colorful, and beautifully made. I ordered ahead online, and the food was ready when I arrived. Parking is very easy right in front of the store. On top of that, the staff and owner were so friendly and welcoming. Had a great experience with Take Sushi. The sushi was very fresh tasting sushi! I got one fresh roll called Zen Roll and one baked roll called Bake Special Roll. I called ahead of time before I put in my online order to ask if they are familiar with gluten free and they are!! I indicated in the "special requests" section, "Gluten free." I had originally put a roll that contained spicy tuna but the chef called to let me know that they mix it with ponzu so it is not gluten free. The chef had me switch to a roll that was gf safe which was awesome! This is customized service, I really appreciated the call. I had absolutely no reactions. They were also surprisingly opened on a Saturday although it says on their website and on Yelp that they are closed.
