Out of town working and found this great spot for sushi! Fun atmosphere and a great menu. Staff was very friendly and the food was fantastic!
The food is outstanding!! Musi soup was in pont with big pieces of seaweed and tofu. The sushi nigiri was so fresh and so big and so perfect. The rolls were fresh and inventive, especially the orange dragon and the citrus twist. The rainbow roll was good and the OMG was just fine. I OMGed over the raw fish, more. My waiter Matt was awesome. Great recommendations! (and no that is not his picture in the painting on the wall). If I am ever in Charlotte again I would absolutely go back to this place.
Disorganized and Unprofessional Service I called at 1:30 on 01/01/2025 to order a sashimi deluxe platter for pickup. The person on the phone struggled to understand my order, repeatedly asking me to repeat it despite sashimi being on their menu. After several clarifications, they finally confirmed my order and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, the staff was mostly standing around chit-chatting, with very few customers in the restaurant. I was told my order wasn't ready yet, so I sat and waited. Five minutes later, they brought out multiple orders, including mine, but prioritized checking out other customers first. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes, only for a server to finally ask, "Are you waiting for something?" Turns out my order had been sitting there the entire time. The staff's lack of communication and disregard for customers' time was infuriating. A simple takeout order took nearly an hour due to inefficiency and inattentive service. The food may be decent, but the service is unacceptably poor.
Came here for my son's birthday lunch. We were a group of 5. There is a sign posted asking for grace due to being short staffed. Service was kind and efficient. Sushi rolls were tasty. Lots of variety on the menu. Hibachi was ok. Stick with the sushi here. They also have a full bar. Everything seemed clean including the restroom. Try this place out!
The Aesthetic: Creative, modern sushi spot with a variety of interesting and classic rolls. I found my new favorite sushi place, I had a perfect meal here. The staff was also very kind and attentive, 5 stars! The Price: It's a good price since it's a little out of the main city, and you get large rolls so there's a high value. The Parking: It's a huge lot in a strip mall, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot. We went on a busy Saturday night and found a close spot. My Order: The Black Widow Roll has spicy tuna, cilantro, basil and dried spices (added cream cheese), and it was one of the best rolls I've had. I also ordered an asparagus roll, which was classic. There is so much on the menu to try, I'm going to keep coming back. The Conclusion: If you enjoy fun sushi rolls, this is it!
Was looking for a sushi place in the University area and found Sushi Queen on Yelp. There were alot of rave reviews and I love sushi so off I went. This place is very unassuming from the outside, but it is huge inside. Service was goo. Our waiter was attentive but not over bearing. He provided a lot of good options to try. I had the rainbow roll and eel roll as they are my goto's. Good portions on the rolls and the fish and eel were very fresh. My only complaint was the eel sauce as it was very sweet. Almost too sweet. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would return when I am back in the area.
So delicious. Sat at the bar and the staff were very welcoming and chatted with me while I waited on my meal. It didn't take long to get my food and the restaurant is large, would recommend for small groups or a date night.
This is one of my go-to restaurants for sushi. It's always consistantly fresh and delicious. They have hibachi and other items, but I always get sushi. I have dined in, and the service was great. Usually, there is no waiting and I'm seated immediately and receive my food in a decent amount of time. Several different times, I have tried to order from their website, and online ordering is not available. When that happens, you have to order from a 3rd party site, doordash pickup does not have a fee but the other online ordering options listed have a 3% fee to order on their site for Sushi Queen. Tonight, I ordered take out. I ordered the seaweed salad, spicy salmon, spicy tuna rolls and miso soup. The miso is put in a very tiny to go cup. You don't get as much as you would if you dine in. It was, however, hot and tasty. The rolls were made to order and really good. The seaweed salad was good, but I've had better. I do recommend.
We were honestly surprised with how amazing this place looked tucked into shopping center strip. The interior was spacious, clean and efficient. We were seated immediately and our waitress was incredibly quick to get our orders in. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato appetizer with smoked salmon and cream cheese and ate it before I could think to photograph it. The three sushi rolls we ordered were phenomenal. Perfectly spicy and layered on the Hot Momma roll. The Hot Papa Roll was creamy and crunchy. The OMG Roll had a ton of great flavor and texture! We will definitely revisit!

I went here with the hopes of finding a cooked sushi roll. I ordered what was under cooked rolls, but it wasn't cooked. The sushi was still good, as was the service (they let you know it will take at least 30 min before the food comes out). My favorite thing was the fried green tomatoes because they were delicious.
This place was a total discovery thanks to Yelp! I had a severe craving for sushi but didn't want to drive across town for it (uh, hello gas prices) so I fired up the ol' faithful Yelp app and put in sushi near me. lt pulled up Sushi Queen and I decided to check it out to solely due to the proximity. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sushi place that is nearby and actually good! Sushi Queen is located in a strip mall right across the street from Regal Starlight theater and next to a Walmart. I walked in and placed my order at the bar since it was to-go. I placed my order and was told a 20-25 min wait which wasn't an issue since I had a podcast episode ready to go and I popped in Walmart. However, next time I will call ahead for pick up. The interior is quite large and the tables are well-spaced so you won't feel like you're eating on top of another like you do at other restaurants. They do have a full-service bar so you can enjoy a beer or cocktail with your meal if you dine-in. I went with the red dragon and yellowtail roll and was pleased with both. Super filling and tasted fresh. Again, this was a great discovery thanks to Yelp and I'll be back!

Had a quick lunch here with friendly service in a long cavernous space with pop music playing loudly. Sake was delish. My orange roll wasn't bad but my companion did not like his nigiri so more like 3.5 stars for me! read more
Yasssssss! I was looking for good sushi nearby and glad my son recommended this place. We ordered a ton and shared amongst the table so we all could try them. Nothing disappointed! Now the crab is imitation crab and I usually don't order rolls with imitation crab but I did so I can try them since they sounded really good. For appetizers we had 2 orders of the panko fried shrimp. The panko gives it a great crunch that tempura just wouldn't be able to. Highly recommend. The fried green tomatoes topped with smoked salmon.... A MUST ORDER! It was surprisingly tasty. Everything complimented each other and no bite was disappointing. For my rolls I ordered the OMG roll which was $3 off, it's tuna, salmon, imitation crab, cream cheese deep fried. It wasn't bad but wasn't my favorite. The size of the roll was wider than most. The other roll I got was the smokey mountain. It comes with imitation crab, topped with smoked salmon tempura flakes, eel sauce. That was my first time having a roll with smoked salmon. It instantly became my favorite alongside the appetizers. I'd definitely order that again. I wish I could get it without the imitation crab or with another fish option. I'll have to check out the menu again on my next visit. We shared the pineapple sake and it's served cold and in a bottle. It's thick. read more

Absolutely loved the decor in this restaurant . It was a Little slow at first for a Saturday but it quickly picked up . Sushi is fairly priced and it was delicious. Drinks are strong enough for one but definitely go for two ! read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch after the gym and Sushi Queen did not disappoint! They have signs on the door letting you know that they are short staffed and experiencing some increases in wait times. There are also a couple of photo backgrounds and some amazing art on the walls. The sushi rolls were amazing. My friend and I chose the spring rolls as an appetizer and the Sexy Dragon, OMG, and Fantasy rolls as our entrees. Each roll was filling and the flavor combinations were very well balanced. I'll definitely add this place to my sushi list. read more

The Sushi Queen on N. Tryon is a true chem! I was invited here for a bday lunch and I can say I was very pleased. The space is absolutely lovely inside and clean. There is room for large and small parties and the walls are littered with amazing artwork and pictures. We were seated as soon as we entered which I give kudos to the hostess for that. Now yes, it was 12 Noon, but I'm sure you'll get this service every time you visit as the staff is very attentive. There are two menus, one for food and the other contained beverages (liquor) with loads of options of everyone. I didn't have a drink this go around, but I did try the sushi options. There were several "Dragon" rolls that were calling my name, so I tried the Red Dragon, the Crab Dragon and the Sexy Dragon which were all AMAZING!!! Each one had its own individual flavor and style. I will most defiantly visit again soon and I suggest you try it for your own. read more
Was craving sushi and after some research, I landed on Sushi Queen. Very spacious and a good amount of people dining on an early Sunday evening. Service was spotty, I had to keep asking for stuff, like wasabi and a soy sauce dish after they handed me my first order. More soda. Chopsticks. The menu is very mixed with lots of options and a wide variety. Started with the seaweed salad, which for the price, it was a good amount and good. I then decided on the seared salmon plate, and probably should've ordered two orders as it was quite tasty. The tiger roll then came out, and the sauce on it is unbelievably spicy. I wish I knew as I would've asked to not have it. I was also getting really full so I couldn't finish it. Shortly after, I had the worst stomach ache and regretted eating here pretty quickly. read more

Heard a lot of good things about this place. Stopped by to try it out, and it did not disappoint. Great friendly service and excellent food! The place is clean and art work on the wall is awesome! The owners even came out to greet us! Very high quality sushi and superb presentation. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended. read more

I only had two complaints. 1 - it took an hour from the moment we ordered to when we got our food and then within 15 min, the waitress was trying to give us our ticket. 2 - the sushi rice was really sweet. Why did we wait so long without complaining? We quickly noticed that there was only waitress when we walked in and she was split between 10 tables. The reviews made us want to stay and see it out. As long as quality was not sacrificed, it would be worth the wait. To be honest we got close to being "hangry" but she kept the drinks filled and tried her absolute best to take care of us while we waited. When the food cake out, everything was as expected from the Yelp reviews. I wasn't a fan of the Salmon Belly, but that was my fault. I didn't read that it was "seared" until after I had ordered it. I thought it was raw. But my son that it was amazing. We really loved the OMG and Sexy Dragon rolls the best. The Chirashi was good but the rice was a little too sweet. But you mainly get the Chirashi for the fish.. which was on point. There was even grilled eel, which my husband ate happily since I personally don't like Unagi (I know! I know! I'm weird, BUT did not let it go to waste.) He loved it. So worth the wait if you are sitting down was feels like longer than normal. The place is pretty clean. They ask that you wear masks. Bathrooms are ok. Good for families or couples. Plenty of seating options plus to go is available. Staff is friendly even while they were slammed and balls to the wall. Happy that quality was not sacrificed. read more

Placed my order online and it was ready when I arrived. Cute interior, they had one of those trendy grass wall decorations. The sushi wasn't terrible but also you pay for what you get and this was around $18. The miso soup was a little off as well . If I were to go again I'd probably just stick with a roll instead of sashimi or nigiri read more
My girlfriend and I had been wanting to try this place out for awhile and I'm so happy we finally did! I do want to say that they seem to have a really good to-go service going on right now and I am really happy with the COVID measures put into place. We really felt like we had plenty of space to eat without worry or fear. We got some hibachi, some veggie tempura and a few different sushi rolls. I got the Fire Roll and was very excited because I never get to try a fancy roll with the fact that I don't eat shellfish and this roll was half off this night! It was so delicious and everyone should give it a try! The hibachi steak was delicious as well! Give them a try! I know we will be going back again soon... read more

Got the Orange Dragon as well as the fusion take on the fried green tomatoes and dear god it was amazing! We went before a concert at the PNC thinking it would be basic food to eat beforehand and it was delicious! Great prices, great service, and great atmosphere! read more
