The food is outstanding!! Musi soup was in pont with big pieces of seaweed and tofu. The sushi nigiri was so fresh and so big and so perfect. The rolls were fresh and inventive, especially the orange dragon and the citrus twist. The rainbow roll was good and the OMG was just fine. I OMGed over the raw fish, more. My waiter Matt was awesome. Great recommendations! (and no that is not his picture in the painting on the wall). If I am ever in Charlotte again I would absolutely go back to this place.

Disorganized and Unprofessional Service I called at 1:30 on 01/01/2025 to order a sashimi deluxe platter for pickup. The person on the phone struggled to understand my order, repeatedly asking me to repeat it despite sashimi being on their menu. After several clarifications, they finally confirmed my order and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, the staff was mostly standing around chit-chatting, with very few customers in the restaurant. I was told my order wasn't ready yet, so I sat and waited. Five minutes later, they brought out multiple orders, including mine, but prioritized checking out other customers first. I ended up waiting another 20 minutes, only for a server to finally ask, "Are you waiting for something?" Turns out my order had been sitting there the entire time. The staff's lack of communication and disregard for customers' time was infuriating. A simple takeout order took nearly an hour due to inefficiency and inattentive service. The food may be decent, but the service is unacceptably poor.

Came here for my son's birthday lunch. We were a group of 5. There is a sign posted asking for grace due to being short staffed. Service was kind and efficient. Sushi rolls were tasty. Lots of variety on the menu. Hibachi was ok. Stick with the sushi here. They also have a full bar. Everything seemed clean including the restroom. Try this place out!

The Aesthetic: Creative, modern sushi spot with a variety of interesting and classic rolls. I found my new favorite sushi place, I had a perfect meal here. The staff was also very kind and attentive, 5 stars! The Price: It's a good price since it's a little out of the main city, and you get large rolls so there's a high value. The Parking: It's a huge lot in a strip mall, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot. We went on a busy Saturday night and found a close spot. My Order: The Black Widow Roll has spicy tuna, cilantro, basil and dried spices (added cream cheese), and it was one of the best rolls I've had. I also ordered an asparagus roll, which was classic. There is so much on the menu to try, I'm going to keep coming back. The Conclusion: If you enjoy fun sushi rolls, this is it!

Was looking for a sushi place in the University area and found Sushi Queen on Yelp. There were alot of rave reviews and I love sushi so off I went. This place is very unassuming from the outside, but it is huge inside. Service was goo. Our waiter was attentive but not over bearing. He provided a lot of good options to try. I had the rainbow roll and eel roll as they are my goto's. Good portions on the rolls and the fish and eel were very fresh. My only complaint was the eel sauce as it was very sweet. Almost too sweet. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would return when I am back in the area.

We were honestly surprised with how amazing this place looked tucked into shopping center strip. The interior was spacious, clean and efficient. We were seated immediately and our waitress was incredibly quick to get our orders in. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato appetizer with smoked salmon and cream cheese and ate it before I could think to photograph it. The three sushi rolls we ordered were phenomenal. Perfectly spicy and layered on the Hot Momma roll. The Hot Papa Roll was creamy and crunchy. The OMG Roll had a ton of great flavor and texture! We will definitely revisit!

This is one of my go-to restaurants for sushi. It's always consistantly fresh and delicious. They have hibachi and other items, but I always get sushi. I have dined in, and the service was great. Usually, there is no waiting and I'm seated immediately and receive my food in a decent amount of time. Several different times, I have tried to order from their website, and online ordering is not available. When that happens, you have to order from a 3rd party site, doordash pickup does not have a fee but the other online ordering options listed have a 3% fee to order on their site for Sushi Queen. Tonight, I ordered take out. I ordered the seaweed salad, spicy salmon, spicy tuna rolls and miso soup. The miso is put in a very tiny to go cup. You don't get as much as you would if you dine in. It was, however, hot and tasty. The rolls were made to order and really good. The seaweed salad was good, but I've had better. I do recommend.

I went here with the hopes of finding a cooked sushi roll. I ordered what was under cooked rolls, but it wasn't cooked. The sushi was still good, as was the service (they let you know it will take at least 30 min before the food comes out). My favorite thing was the fried green tomatoes because they were delicious.

This place was a total discovery thanks to Yelp! I had a severe craving for sushi but didn't want to drive across town for it (uh, hello gas prices) so I fired up the ol' faithful Yelp app and put in sushi near me. lt pulled up Sushi Queen and I decided to check it out to solely due to the proximity. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sushi place that is nearby and actually good! Sushi Queen is located in a strip mall right across the street from Regal Starlight theater and next to a Walmart. I walked in and placed my order at the bar since it was to-go. I placed my order and was told a 20-25 min wait which wasn't an issue since I had a podcast episode ready to go and I popped in Walmart. However, next time I will call ahead for pick up. The interior is quite large and the tables are well-spaced so you won't feel like you're eating on top of another like you do at other restaurants. They do have a full-service bar so you can enjoy a beer or cocktail with your meal if you dine-in. I went with the red dragon and yellowtail roll and was pleased with both. Super filling and tasted fresh. Again, this was a great discovery thanks to Yelp and I'll be back!

Absolutely loved the decor in this restaurant . It was a Little slow at first for a Saturday but it quickly picked up . Sushi is fairly priced and it was delicious. Drinks are strong enough for one but definitely go for two !

Check out their website for daily specials. They have the bar area blocked off for takeout orders. We placed our order of the sexy dragon roll and the California roll over the phone. The food was ready when I arrived 15 minutes later. Good sushi, fair prices, and great deals. read more

Ever since I moved here I've struggled finding good sushi in Concord but thank God I stumbled upon Sushi Queen in Charlotte. The rolls were so good I didn't even have time to take a picture. We ordered the Sexy Dragon, OMG, corn roll and Rock n Roll. I love how they have daily specials on certain rolls so it gives me the opportunity to try a new roll or get my favorite roll for a fraction of the price. I will say the day we ordered it was a 45 min wait but I was ok with that since it was worth it. read more

Really nice interior. Large, open space with modern furniture and high ceilings. A plus to me! We stopped by around 5:30 pm to try it for dinner before a 7 pm movie. It was pretty empty but I think they just opened this location. I got the Fantasy roll that was $3 off and the Orange Dragon roll plus some Edamame as an app. The Edamame was a generous bowl and was served very warm. It was good but should have come out long before our meals but was served right before it so we only ate a few. My husband got the Teriyaki chicken plate with a California roll on the side. My husband's meal was chicken, rice, and some veggies. It came with a big squeeze bottle of shrimp sauce which he said was tasty. He really loves boring California rolls so as far as they go he was a fan The Fantasy roll was just 5 pieces and it was warm which I didn't love but it was spicy which I did love :-) The Orange Dragon was legit! I would get that again! Fast service and pretty decent sushi although I feel like it was overpriced (11-13 a roll). They have cheaper rolls but they were smaller. I think the Fantasy roll was WAY overpriced for the amount of food. I feel like a lot of the rolls were the same or very similar so I couldn't really tell the difference between them. Our server was good at recommending options for us. We would probably eat there again because it's close to home and we don't have to go downtown read more

I wasn't that impressed with Sushi Queen. If you've read one of my reviews before, you know I base my indication of a good Japanese restaurant on the fried rice. Well, the fried rice was simply just that. No "oooo" and no "ahhhs." I ordered the hibachi shrimp and I didn't find it to be appetizing either. More seasoning could have help some. However, the customer service is great! The décor is really trendy and eye catching. It is very spacious as well. I could see it being a accommodating for a group. read more

I have been waiting for this place to open: QUEEN CITY WELCOMES SUSHI QUEEN!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I sooooo happy they opened another location that's closer to me. I would go to the one in concord, now that's one is closer to me (big smile). SERVICE WAS GREAT!! GREAT SUSHI (AS ALWAYS)! This is HANDS DOWN THE BEST SUSHI PLACE, both of their locations. The prices are not outrageous. The decor is sample and cute. The wall art is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, I sure it was hand painted! Clean and new. It's big with plenty of table and chairs. I just moved to Charlotte from NYC. And NY has some restaurants that have THE best sushi I've EVER tasted. Thankfully I finally found a spot literally 2 mins from my home that comes very very very close to NY. I ordered their Hot Papa roll...I wish I'd ordered more than one. It was perfect. They sat us at a dirty table we had to wait for them to clean when there was a clean table unoccupied in plain sight. Then they repeatedly mixed up our drink order (which was not even alcoholic). They waited on numerous parties they sat AFTER our small three (3) person party and kept apologizing to us after we had to repeatedly remind them that we had limited time to eat and were in town for a concert. When we sat down in their establishment we had an hour and a half before our very expensive Rod Stewart concert was to begin. It is now 20 minutes before the concert and I'm just now getting a plate and the third person in my party is still waiting for hers. Very poor service all around! Two thumbs down! read more

This is arguably the best sushi place in the Charlotte area. Me and my dad hit this place up last night and we sat at the bar near the chef. The chef gave us some amazing recommendations and overall improved our experience exponentially. He recommended the Fresh Salmon Nigiri, and he said it was his favorite thing on the menu. I agree that it is amazing. Must get for sure. We also had the sexy dragon, the OMG, and the Spider Rolls. All the food was exceptional. Not just the best sushi, but also the best restaurant I've ever been to. A little Tempura Ice cream as the dessert, and it was amazing as well. Definitely stop if ur in the area. Best sushi in Charlotte, and it really lives up to its name. It really is the Queen of Sushi. read more

I placed an order to go. Online ordering was easy, the rolls were described well. The prices were excellent, I was almost overwhelmed at all of the options of things to add to my order within the budget I set. I got an assortment of rolls, a couple sides, and some soup. I arrived at the restaurant shortly before my quoted pick up time and was promptly greeted and assisted by a very friendly waitress. The ambiance of the restaurant was very surprising given the plain shopping center it was located in; It was very beautiful inside. I waited just a few minutes for my order and was on my way. Once home, I made sure I tried a little bit of everything I ordered- all of it was delicious! The smoky mountain roll was crazyy & as simple as it was, the sweet potato roll was a close second. When I say everything tasted great, I mean it. Even the ginger included with the sushi was top tier with its bright vibrant pink color and the wasabi tasted fresh and not overly pungent. All in all, I can't believe I lived 10 minutes from this place for years and this was my first visit. I'd recommend it to anyone, I think it's my new favorite sushi spot in the city. read more

Ok Sushi. For strip-mall sushi this was about what one should expect. I visited on a Tuesday night; not too busy and still not sure why it took so long to get the soup/appetizer for my meal. I attempted to substitute the "regular roll" with a special roll and offered to pay the difference as I did not want the regular roll. The server explained that after checking with the manager this was not an option and I was charged the full price for my meal and the special roll when the bill arrived (even though I did not get other roll with my meal). I felt the server could have been more attentive (my miso soup arrived moments before my meal) and the sushi seemed just a touch on the "fishy" side. After making a special request, she did provide the missing roll for me to-go. Most likely will not return as there are other options for sushi closer to downtown (see my review of Yume). read more

Uchi's been open in Charlotte for three months, and It took us ONLY two of those to make our 6:00 weekend reservation. All I had to do was log in again, and again, for several weeks before I happened into an available slot a month in advance. If you wish to eat at 4 or 9 pm an open table is waiting. Otherwise, at least for now, perseverance and patience, or luck, are required. So everyone's aware, Uchi is a chain albeit a rather exclusive one. Charlotte has the tenth location, next closest is in, let's see, Nashville. We've now eaten at three of these (also Miami and Hollywood). What I can tell you is that the design and decor vary considerably in each as do the menu items. The seafood tends to be locally sourced (relatively speaking) if possible and the seasonal menu is updated, literally, daily. I enjoyed the design of this Midwood Charlotte restaurant more than the others. It's in a renovated historic building and has an airy, modern yet industrial vibe. That is, except for perhaps the alcove where we were seated. This nook reminded me somewhat of my uncle's wood-paneled basement from many years past. That's OK, because what the niche may have lacked in aesthetic was made up by providing a more secluded quiet space for intimate conversation. Because we were hungry yet at the same time lazy we chose the chef's tasting omakase menu. Ten small courses chosen by the kitchen, no muss or fuss on our part. Many, but not all of the courses are from the menu. You can review my photos of some of the dishes, I remembered the names of most. Favorites? In general it has to be the sushi. Sure, the fresh fish is delicious but it's the rice, that incredible moist, flavorful short-grained rice that makes them sing. If you've only had sushi or rolls from a lower-end restaurant or grocery store then, my friends, you're in for a treat. My wife LOVES Uchi so now that there's one in our neighborhood we'll definitely be back.
