"Holy Shit!" Literally the first words that came out of my mouth when I saw all the food, and then also the first words that came out of my mouth when I tasted the food! This place is amazing. I don't know why I'd never been here before. Talk about bang for your buck! I ordered the Nigiri Roll Combo, and it came with a California roll, a spicy tuna roll, 5 pieces of assorted nigiri, miso soup, and salad. I'm talking about full rolls, not skimpy half rolls. And the fish on the nigiri was soooo fresh and the cut was THICK. I was so happy eating dinner tonight Aside from the food, the service was great! The woman at the counter was very nice. I placed a to-go order, and I didn't wait more than 10 minutes before my order was ready. She brought my food to me, and both she and the sushi chef said bye I was leaving. First off, I am not a sushi snob in the slightest. I enjoy the fancy stuff every once in a while, but I also love the special roles that are mostly just jumbo california rolls with sliced fish on top. That being said, this was easily the worst sushi I have had in my life, and that includes the packaged stuff from Safeway. The California roll mixture was incredibly sweet, which was off putting and ruined any roll that contained it. The fish was low-quality, but passable. The bowl of miso soup was clearly made from packaged instant miso mix. We also got a bowl of ramen, which was similarly terrible--undercooked instant noddles, UNcooked tofu, and a broth that was served barely lukewarm. The lone bright spot was a nice waitress, but it was hard to hear her over the blaring, sappy ballads (most of which were covers???). I walked in hoping to see the giant's game on the tv, but every screen was instead showcasing the Smurfs cartoon. Just... what? I implore you, go anywhere else. read more

Top-tier service, large portions, and good food for an even better value. If you're looking for friendly staff and large portions that stays true to the roots of their food, then I would definitely recommend this place. Stopped by here to get some ramen after just getting off a flight from New York. We were welcomed in right at 11 am (opening time) by an ecstatic waitress who was both very prompt, and very kind, throughout our time there. It was pretty quiet since it was a Wednesday, but the restaurant itself had a nice calm vibe to it. Ordered the hot tea, Karaage Ramen w/ spicy Shoyu base, and a Giant Roll. For those who wonder if a place is ever a genuine Asian restaurant, one big thing to look out for is their tea. If the leaves come in a bag, that's a bad sign. This place though, had loose leaf genmaicha (green tea with brown rice) that was very rich and soothing. So that set myself up for some high expectations for the dishes to come. The Karaage Ramen was pretty good, but I've definitely had juicier and crispier chicken before. Nothing to discount the dish itself though, because it's nonetheless good value for the price because of it's portion size. I have eaten ramen at a Michelin Star restaurant before though, so that basis for comparison should also be noted. The portion sizes are quite large, so you definitely get your value. One example of this was the Giant roll, which was unmistakably giant lol. The sushi itself was rolled well despite it's massive size, and it didn't fall apart after dipping it into the soy sauce. The fish itself was pretty good as well, but again not the best I've had. Although it isn't pictured, my table also ordered a lunch special bento box that was also very large. Compared to my typical experience with ordering the same dish at other places, the portion size of Sushi Raku was at least double, yet for a comparable price. What a deal! read more

Was surprised to see that the roll not only came with soup but also salad. That's awesome! When I picked up the roll the customer service was great as well! We came here for lunch today Sunday and I am so glad I listened to the reviews. I am giving this new place that we will definitely come back to 5 star rating for the lovely ambiance of Frank Sinatra songs, beautiful decoration, fast and lovely service and lastly the delicious food. We had Benton Salmon Teriyaki, with CA roll, salad and rice, Takoyaki. The only reason for not the 5 star rating is they didn't have AC on, mostly fan. Try this restaurant! Committed the 5th sin after coming from here! LoL. We wanted to try so many different items on the menu. The Giant sushi was named that for a reason. The topping was like another set of sushi, with spicy tuna and salmon. The middle was crab and soft shelf crab wrapped 2x in rice and seaweed. Good for sharing with 2-3 people, but there were only 2 of us and more food kept coming. Squid karaage didn't disappoint. Baked mussel was also enjoyed by my husband. Generous serving. Visited for the first time recently and had a nice lunch in this cute little Japanese spot. They offer lunch specials and great pricing, friendly service. We had a bento lunch that came with teriyaki salmon, mixed tempura, rice, salad and a miso soup. Also threw in an avocado roll. Everything was delicious, fresh and well prepared. Great food - anything you order will be made well and taste delicious. The people here are the sweetest, kindest people. They greet you with smiles - not fake, "we have to pretend to like you because it's how we're supposed to act in the restaurant business" smile, but like... they know that we customers are people and they treat you like neighbors and friends. I came in and told them my name to pick up my order, and instead of just handing me my order, they smiled and said, "Oh, it's great to meet you!" Expectations officially a exceeded! Went in for lunch today and ordered the Giant roll. There was a bit of a wait, as the restaurant was prepping a big order for a party. The staff kindly brought me a seaweed salad on the house, which was lovely, but I was already gearing up to write a 5 star review for the following reasons: 1. Value- I ordered one roll: the giant roll. The price was $18, but it sounded too delicious to pass up. Normally one roll is just the right amount of food for me, but this is easily enough for two people. I could only eat three of the eight pieces, and took the rest home to my husband. Even he had a hard time polishing off the remaining pieces- and he's a massive dude! For lunch, rolls come with soup and salad. With tax and tip I was out of there for$22. Very good for the amount of food served. 2. Quality- sushi rolls are not a great barometer for fish quality. Thats for the nigiri to reveal. I can say what I ordered was very tasty, and the craftsmanship/presentation was on point. I look forward to trying some of the nigiri specials next time. 3. Service- tops! My server was so sweet, checking in on me often. The sushi chef who I be live to be the proprietor, also came out to apologize for the delay and asked if they could comp another soup salad. It was so kind, I really would not have noticed that they were backed up had they not mentioned it. We were visitors coming up from Southern California & we had the best experience. We needed a last minute outing for my godmothers birthday. So I searched up top rated sushi spots & Sushi Raku came up. We showed and we had the best service and enjoyed every moment of it. Definitely recommend it! My boyfriend and I came in and got seated immediately and was served water. As we were waiting for the server to come by to take our order, 2 other parties came in and were seated. We had already been in there for 15 minutes and the server had only gave us water and as soon as the other parties had a moment to look over their menu, the server took both parties orders. Had a great family lunch at Sushi Raku. They brought us salad and miso soup while we waited on what the order. The 2 boys shared 3 rolls: Godzilla roll, rainbow roll and cherry blossom roll. Hubby and I got an appetizer (The boys ate 80% of it), Can't remember the name, but it was like tuna over crab. They gave us a few appetizer as well. We went here for the first time to celebrate my husband for Father's Day and the service was excellent! They were very attentive to our needs as a party of 6 with two young kids. The sushi was fresh and delicious and comes with a complimentary side salad and miso soup. As a special touch, they surprised us with a plate of gyoza and calamari on the house to acknowledge the fathers spending time with their families. If that wasn't enough, they made two balloon swords for my kids to take home which they were so thrilled about! Our hostess and server were extremely thoughtful and we couldn't have been happier with our experience.
