Spicy rainbow roll, spicy yellowtail roll and spicy tuna roll.

Came here in the evening in December, so we had a nice quiet and cozy time with one other family dining. Menu has enough choices without being overwhelmed. We had rolls, Korean chicken and ramen bowls. Came with hot tea. Food was delicious especially the sweet and spicy chicken and the rolls. Service was very personable and worth the wait for freshly made food. Will come back again.

Dragon Roll

A no frills sushi restaurant with an unassuming exterior and simple interior. We ordered the small sushi platter, which came with 10 pieces of assorted nigiri, 1 Cali roll, 1 tuna roll, 1 salmon roll, 1 chef special roll. The highlights were the yellowtail nigiri, the dragon roll, and the fried soft-shell crab roll. The yellowtail was fresh and sweet. I loved the presentation of the dragon roll, especially with the thinly sliced avocado. The fried soft-shell crab wasn't heavy or greasy like in a lot of sushi restaurants. My only disappointment was with the quality of the tuna. After the meal, the owner brought over complimentary matcha-flavored mochi ice-cream, which was really nice of them. I would 100% come back.

I have driven by here many times, but this was our first stop. There is a part of me that is resistant to writing this review, fearful that this quiet place will no longer be the hidden gem that it is, however it is part of our job to pay it forward and reward the quality experience the owners have provided. The location is unassuming and the parking lot easy to pass by, however if you appreciate a focus on the basics without pretension, this is worth a visit. As a bit of a kimchi snob, the dumplings are very good. When ordering sushi we often focus on the fish and often take for granted how important the rice is. Whatever is different about the type or cooking method, I so enjoyed the rice. The fish was good, fresh, and clean. We didn't try the ramen but I would expect it to be as solid as everything else we tried. The entire place is very clean, organized and neat. It was very obvious the the owners are proud of what they serve and take care to provide quality. If it is busy when you go, you may have a little wait, but enjoy the tea provided when you first sit down and appreciate the small business, owner operator experience you are having.

Kid and I went here. And honestly I can Mediocre as best. They looked at me completely confused when asking for soy paper. The wrapping of the rolls was loose and honestly not impressed. Honestly I will probably not go back. Plenty of other places to get my sushi on at.

It's the real deal!

In town for business and craving some sushi, so I dialed up the ole Yelp machine and found this great little gem not far from my hotel. It had a few very good reviews, so I thought I would give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. It's run by a cute little older couple who do all the work and treat you like family. They bring you a pot of tea along with your menu and immediately you feel welcome. I ordered 2 rolls and both were delicious!!! They even bring you a decadent little ice cream dessert at the end. Yeah, I'll be back!!!

Solid miso soup, but unclear why it only comes with a plastic spoon when you eat in.

Still looking for excellent, authentic sushi/sashimi in Greater Hartford area. There are some strengths and weaknesses, especially if you are a sushi aficionado: Strengths: *Affable owner *Attentive service *Miso soup was a standout *Solid edamame Weaknesses: *No omakase option *Weak variety for both the sashimi and sushi options. We are close to the ocean, so it's disappointing that such local strengths as oysters and hirami/fluke are not offered. *I had the sashimi plate. Most of the fish was fresh, but it was too thickly cut *The sushi rice was bland (lacking sufficient vinegar) This would seem to be a reasonable bet if you're looking for fusion sushi rolls, but the search goes on for authentic sashimi/sushi in our region...

Came back for some more food and this place does t disappoint. A quite nested small restaurant run by a very nice owner. You will love this place, keep the party at max 4 cause it's a small place, not fancy but cozy, great for a casual dinning.

Enjoying shimp tempura rolls, Philadelphia roll, spicy salmon spring roll and seaweed salad

A small spot with a charming, casual, cozy and Japanese feel. We enjoyed a selection of rolls, the delicious fresh green tea and seaweed salad which was great and the Korean dumpling soup special which was a first for both of us. Not a big fan of the rice cakes in the soup, but the broth was very tasty. A little pricey at $17 a bowl. We had a great time and would come back. Service was prompt and friendly.

A hidden gem! It's great when you show up at a place not expecting much and you are greeted by a lovely family and a cup of green tea. I can only judge the food based on the lady in red roll and the edamame but both were fantastic. Looking forward to my next visit.

The sushi was decent but this place has no atmosphere. Consider getting takeout if you try this place

The Sashimi was limited and marginal at best, the portions were small, and the restaurant looked terrible.

She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. Thankfully, as our food was served she was there to explain that the best way to experience the chef's creation is to eat it as it presented (without soy sauce) first. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. The food and service will blow you away. Get the Princess Peach Roll if it's available. The Tiger Roll and the Flame Touch were also fantastic. Hint: the tiger roll comes with lemon slices on top - do not remove the lemon. Trust me.

Each person gets a menu to fill out in the beginning, and when you've made good progress on your first round of food, the waiter comes by with your second paper. I loved the sweet potato tempura, but looking back, I should have only ordered 3 servings because god that was filling. I barely managed to finish everything that I ordered. The seaweed salad lived up to everyone's hype on here, so I'm glad I got to try it. As for the sushi, I liked the Samurai Roll, but thought the Dragon Roll was 85% cucumber and 15% eel inside--not as satisfying. The salmon and mackerel sashimi were decent though. And the tamagoyaki (egg) was a little too sweet for my liking... I should make it myself at home soon. Since we went on the weekend, each person had a base cost of $30, but I feel like what I ate was worth more than that. Big W. Come here if you want to eat a lot!
