I absolutely love this place... I go once a month for their Tom Kha Gai (coconut chiken soup) and white rice-- this is an unbelievable bowl of soup! I cannot et wnough of this soup-- I must admitt- I have cheated on them several times with restaurants closer to me and have paiid the price dearly! There is absolutely no substitution for this place- NO ONE has made this soup the way Sushi Rock has. I also go once a week for their tuna tataki and seven sea sushi roll and Spicy Tuna Roll- I have never encountered a problem with them, they are friendly and have great customer serrvice. The wait is never too long but is always packed. They have an variety of dishes on their menu for the not so in love with sushi guests and thier Thai Tea is to die for! read more

Sushi Rock is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Miami. While the rolls can be somewhat pricey, they are HUGE. In most places I need 2 sushi rolls to fill up, one roll will do the trick here. The spicy tuna roll is my favorite. Their Pad Thai is top (2nd favorite goes to Tani Thai). I've had nothing but superb, fresh fish here and will continue to come to Sushi Rock. read more

If I were able to give 0 stars I would. I ordered sushi for my family and Sunetra (the useless person who took the order) accepted my order and stated that it would be delivered in 40 min. After 1.5 hours I called in to make sure everything was OK and Sunetra answered and told me that she made a mistake and could not deliver to my home. I asked why she didn't tell me that 1.5 hours ago and she stated she made a mistake and there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said the only person she could pass the phone to was the bus boy. She was very disrespectful and condescending over a mistake she made. Mind you, I live 5 miles from the restaurant. She charged my credit card at the moment of he order and has yet to refund my money. I will be passing by tomorrow to speak to who ever is in charge to let them know how bad their customer service is and demand a refund. I havent been here in years, and quality has not changed. I ordered a Chirashi and: The tamago tasted old and odd. A margarita glass they use to put part of the dish smelled like a wet rag that had been sitting around a few days. The rice in the chirashi was not even as sticky as it should be for grabbing with chopsticks. The greens on the dish looked old. The fish smelled fresh (no scent) but the above was enough to gross me out. read more

I had seen this place for a while so I decided to give it a try. The reviews do not lie, the sushi is really good. I ordered the spicy salmon dragon roll and it was delicious, not too much rice or spicy sauce. It also had and amazing sweet sauce on top as well, needless to say, I loved it. The ambiance was very nice as well. The bar wqs large and well lit and the booths were very comfy. I have to update my review. I was disappointed tonight. My wife and I got their and noticed they were packed. Which I think great. BUT their was also up ten people at one time waiting for take out, also the left phone kept ringing and ringing . Manners also left them. We always eat an assortment off rolls. But for some reason we got the rolls delayed apart. One roll came and the we finished it and then had to wait up to 20min for the next roll to come. When we got our check I was pissed because their was no "sorry for the wait" or " we apologize for the delay between rolls" so we paid and left bearly a tip. I feel bad I will never be going back. It's really hard to yelp any restaurant that makes Sushi because after eating at Kampai which is one of the best ones I have had my expectations are high. I was in the area with a friend of mine and she suggested this place. To begin with the place looks old and the carpet stinks. We were seated right away and for a Friday night in south FL that is a miracle lol. We ordered a volcano roll and the red curry chicken with mild spice. Red curry chicken sauce was OK, I have had better. I was really disappointed with the volcano roll. The toppings on the roll had crab and mushrooms. Not only the taste was off (maybe mushrooms or crab weren't fresh) but little pieces of mushrooms on sushi doesn't look appealing it kinda made me take a step back and ask my self "what is that". It basically tasted like hummmmm .... , nothing , yeah that's it a big nothing. The roll was boring, didn't have that omg feeling and eyes wide open reaction I experience with other rolls. It was a waste. The concept is cute with the records on the wall and all. However the food is not the best. I probably. won't be coming back here. Ok, were do I start. I have mixed ratings about this place and I am a regular here. I been coming here to eat for a while now and I am in love with their Sushi and Thai. By far it's one of my top three Sushi Restaurants that I can actually leave the place very happy with their food. Very good portions for their entrees and appetizers. I give their food 4 stars, but I can't say the same for the hospitality. That's where I have mixed ratings. The funny thing is that their food is so good that I tend to over look that issue. They have what I would call a dry customer service to them, maybe it's a Asian thing, but I can't judge just for their so so service skills. Maybe its a South Florida thing that a lot of us are used to since I know customer service in Miami is not the best depending were you go. In the other hand you travel to the West Coast to San Francisco were 80% of the population is Asian, they treat you with such warm respect and great service. Well, enough of my opinion.... Worst fried rice I've ever had. $14 for something I could barely eat two spoonfuls of. Barf in my mouth.

I went last Saturday night and it was wonderful, a party of 2 we were seated immediately. The food is excellent the best spring rolls I have tasted. The fried rice is made with fresh vegetables and was delicious. The wine list was extensive. I enjoyed a glass of Riesling with my meal. The service was fast but the waitresses timing was way off, kept having to waive her over. (New girl I suppose) Overall I really enjoyed the place and will definitely return. read more

I gave it 2 stars for it's lack of service, for either take out or dine in. Every time I go there I am let down!!!!!! I have given it way too many second chances. Tonight I go to get a simple take out order of ginger salads, soups and edamame. I ask for extra ginger dressing, and what do I receive? Barely ANY ginger dressing. The soup was given in too big of a container for what was actually given. I go there for last minute meals because its a 2 minute walk from my house. Really a bummer. I wouldn't recommend it. Can I put zero stars? I would. This was such a bad experience I had to get absolutely drunk on hard liquor to kill whatever I just ate and forget the horrible dinner. The dinner started with this: I go in and was greeted by a gaggle of confused waiters. As I walked to my booth I noticed the excessive use of saran wrap on display, meaning there stuff probably wasn't that fresh. But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After I sit down, I ordered some green tea and discussed dinner with my friend. We decided on the Love Boat, which is a hefty 50$+ boat with lots of sashimi and rolls. I went to grab the cloth napkin and noticed how hard and unwelcoming it is, so I place it to the side with zero intention of touching it again. A second later the waiter delivers the green tea in an ugly stemmed glass meant for some other liquid. At least the refills were free. I put the napkin to the side without making a fuss about any of the aforementioned. Finally, not long after, the boat arrives. The most prominent things are the most edible, a trap of sorts, because then you're tricked into feeling too bad about turning back the rest of the boat after going too far in. The white fish and rolls were edible, not great, just passable and I usually save the best for last, so I thought it was still redeemable at this point. Still, there was an off flavor that I put up to my tongue being weird, or my mood. But once I got to the sashimi, which was slimy, fell out of my chopsticks, and disintegrated the way old meat does with a reminiscent flavor . . . I knew it wasn't my taste buds or mood, but the utter lack of respect and skill these chefs have for their craft. Even the sushi rice was weird. My friend says they mixed it with cream cheese. I didn't taste that, but I'm not surprised. It was so bad I couldn't even taste the white fish, which was at least edible, so I just ate it off the bad rice. How do you mess up rice!? I started wondering what I did to these people to deserve this. I've only been here 6 years ago and had pleasant memories. But the Sushi Rock now is beyond reprehensible. I'm sure they'd fail multiple health code violations, because the diarrhea this food gave me was rancid and multicolored. read more

I have been visiting this location for years and it is always the same great service and fantastic food. They have several menu items varying from Japanese to Thai so in essence everyone can find something to eat. The sushi is fresh, the veggies are Delicious and their cooking is always to perfection. The service is amazing to say the least, everyone seems to be attentive to your needs including the owner who is always in the back seat of the house watching to make sure your visit is always memorable. Been here several times and the consistency lacks. There are better restaurants such as Sakura just a bit south. The sushi is ok. Had better. The last time I had pad thai it was mushy. Service is fair as there is not enough wait staff. Waited a while to have my drink refilled. Don't know what the lure is, maybe the rock and roll décor, but this place is just average. read more

We came here for dinner Sunday night around 9pm. I ordered a fried rice (the special one with seafood, beef and chicken) and my friend ordered a few sushi rolls. We both had Thai iced tea, no alcohol. We were worried coming in late but there was no problem or no glances exchanged. We weren't the last people in the restaurant and we ate pretty fast. My rice was a HUGE portion for 1 person and I asked for a box right away. Her and I shared the half on the plate and enjoyed it. The imitation crab was large chunks which I'd never had but didn't dislike. The texture was good and the beef was excellent. I asked for sriracha and got a thickened tabasco type sauce that was tasty but wasn't the solid red, thick ketchup sauce (sriracha), it was thinner, translucent and more vinegar than spice, but good! Prices were a little high, in my opinion, $15 for fried rice. I didn't ask if the Thai ice tea came with a refill but it'd be nice to offer 1 refill for a $15 entree on the drink. I've never really liked the food here, but sometimes for the convenience of the location, I find myself running in when there is no other option. However, I won't be returning to this restaurant again. I would rather starve. I ordered an avocado roll, which, as the name suggests, is only avocado. When the bill arrived, I was charged for a full vegetable roll. When I asked the waitress how could they possibly charge for a vegetable roll when all I had was avocado, she shrugged it off and said "we don't have avocado rolls". Seriously? That is your answer? That is your attitude towards customers???? As you rip them off? They also did the same w/the shrimp/avocado roll someone else at the table ordered.....charged them for an entire shrimp tempura roll. NEVER again. As it is, the food here is not good. There are many better sushi places around, with superior customer service. read more

It's been such a long time since I've come to Sushi Rock. I use to go a lot whenever I wanted sushi cause it was so amazing. After such a long time, I decided to go back because I wanted sushi. I must say, you may not be impressed when you approach the entrance, it does not scream out, "this place is amazing!" And we'll neither does the inside. But I was excited to return and re try my favorites. When I walked in, I was welcomed gladly by the owner and the host which made me feel welcome. I should tell you that I did not stay to eat but ordered take out, so I unfortunately can't provide details as to the waiter service. As for the food, I regret to say that the quality of the sushi has gone from excellent to average and it truly disappointed me. I ordered the hot JB roll and Dragon roll, and though I enjoyed the food as it wasn't terrible, it was not the same quality I remembered from a few years ago. I do plan to return in the future and I do hope they reinvent themselves soon, but I will finish by saying do go and give this place a try! read more
