Roxy has to be one of the best places in town to eat, the food is always cooked to exactly how I ask, the service has always been top notch, amazing wine selection, dessert especially the Cafe Diablo. Of course like anywhere you go you always get to meet new staff and great people, but their is one particular individual that every time we eat here makes our experience above and beyond what we expect. Jeff he is their wine expert, and I make sure he is working every time before I go. His knowledge is threw the roof, he is welcoming to every one he meets and all around takes a good experience to a GREAT experience. What fun! A local G-ville friend suggested we go to the Roxy for great Martini's and Dancing. Both were just what we needed, well crafted martini's at a good price, and a piano bar. As for the service, well they were young, long blonde hair and interchangable, nothing memorable, not worth speaking about one way or another. We would go back again and again for that alone, but the kicker was a resturant tip. While enjoying our first martini, we engaged the couple on the couch across from us in "martini" conversation, when they got texted for their dinner reservation, we discovered it was for the Sushi Bar in Circus Circus (behind the BBQ place). An all you can eat sushi bar(or both sushi and sushimi), they graciously put our name on the list and 10 minutes later we got texted, and with martini's in hand walked through the web of casino's. The two of us had the sushi/sushimi all you can eat, and shared a large unfiltered saki, total bill $72! Fish was bright, shiney and beyond fresh, portions large enough to feel a good mouth full, and more for the asking, our server, nicknamed Godzilla, realized we liked creative food, and went to work creating plate after plate. A short walk back to the Roxy and we danced for 2 ish hours, very adult dancing, lots of Sinatra. That evening was a "perfect" date night for me, martini's, sushi, and dancing, and never moving the car. P.S. valet parking is free What more could I ask for! read more

Absolutely fantastic dinner with my company's executive team. Could not have been more fun and we were treated like royalty. One of my friends told me to go to Roxy for dinner. I objected because I hadn't had very good experiences in the past, but she told me they have changed around some of the management and amping up their menu to turn things around. My wife and I gave it another shot, and WOW what a difference. The service was great. When we go back we will definitely ask for Dane to be our server. It didn't seem like they had a hostess, but we were seated promply by one of the 2 managers, Josh. He was fun but also very professional. They have a great wine list, but my wife and I couldn't agree on a wine, so we explained what each of us liked and Josh selected the perfect wine to satisfy both of us. The food was also great. We had the heirloom tomato salad and the wedge salad. Then my wife and I ordered the ribeye. They were both cooked perfectly, and the demi that goes with it is amazing. We finished dinner off with a keylime souffle, which blew us away. The experience really turned our opinion of Roxy Restaurant around. Whatever the Eldorado is doing, whether it be the new manager or a new chef or something, they need to keep it up. I definitley recommend it. We'll be back and we'll bring firends. read more

This restaurant could have got 4 stars but when my cousin and I sat down at the sushi bar, the sushi chef immediately told me that those four chairs that were empty are taken. So I sat down at a small table behind the four chairs. So we ordered sushi and ate. Nobody sat down in those chairs the whole time we ate our meal. Our first time there. Steak Mignon tender. Boat Scallops delicious and not overcooked. Caesar and Wedge salad good. Creamed spinach tasty. Sautéed mushrooms a very generous portion. A server came by right after we were seated with a basket of bread and two offerings. She served us from her basket and came by a couple of more times to check on us. Our water glasses were promptly filled and re-filled throughout the meal.( it was hot day so really appreciated it) Our waiter Michael was so excellent. Great dining experience. Top 5 Steak in Reno! The Ribeye is just plain amazing. I am typically not a ribeye kinda person but I gotta hand it to them on this steak. Appetizers are yummy as well as the salads. You can go upstairs to the martini bar and enjoy a great martini or you can sample some Port with a cigar. They have a cigar stand across from the upstairs entrance to the martini bar. This review is only for the martini bar. I have given the restaurant four stars based on prior trips. But my experience in the martini bar was a three at best. Best part, and let's be honest was the five dollar martinis that with current happy hour goes until 8 o'clock on Friday night. It is on most of their martini menu. My wife and I arrived and sat down at the bar, it took a few minutes to get the bartenders attention. When we finally did she put down napkins and told us the deal about happy hour but quite honestly could not have cared less whether we were there or not. The other bartender eventually came over( 10 minutes) not kidding, to take our order. He was slightly more friendly and accommodating than her, but you can tell none of them were interested in being there. I hope this was an off night, or at least the people are management staff is becoming aware of the bad attitude. We did order some food from the menu. We did an order of their drumettes, which were actually quite tasty they fell off the bone, were very flavorful and have a great presentation. My wife got the oysters Rockefeller. They were good and it was nice to have tried them but the spinach could've been diced a little finer. We happen to be sitting next to two of the hotels employees that were off the clock. And they were more helpful and friendly than the ones working. I will definitely return and I know everyone has off nights but I did leave a bad taste in my mouth read more

Wonderful restaurant! I had the lobster tail with potatos and grean beans. Caesar salad to start. The only reason I gave it a four star rating is because I was surprised with fish on top of my caesar salad that I did not care for. As far as I remember, it didnt state that on the menu that fish would be on my salad. My husband was very upset and couldnt eat it. Other than that our dinner was wonderful! Went there April 15 around 5 PM. Staff was extremely cordial, service was excellent. I had the 7 oz filet, it was cooked to perfection. Only thing weird was they had already put the Béarnaise sauce on the steak before it arrived. That was fine with me but others may have preferred it on the side. The food here is very good. We had the prime rib and New York steak. Delicious but the prime rib at the buffet is very similar. If I could order differently I would opt for the filet mignon. Been there twice so far and both times for drinks only. Trip 1: A Tuesday evening at the tail end of Happy Hour. I tried a Manhattan and then a Kentucky Martini. Both drinks were well made and well presented. The service was quick and friendly. The music was a straight up sax and keyboards 50's/60's lounge duo. They took requests, worked the crowd and seemed to have a song for everyone there. Trip 2: Last night (Sunday) at last call. The duo had packed up for the evening and the staff was about to do the same. It looked as if the place had been overrun by hoards of barely legal college kids. As it turned out I was kinda right. The hotel was hosting a regional volleyball tournament and apparently volleyball players make sloppy drunks. The cocktail menu had colorful stains on every page, the bar was sticky with spilled drinks and the bartender was limping. Yet despite all this she made a more than valiant effort to be cheerful and helpful and it's for that reason Roxy's will continue to get my martini business. read more

We arrived for a 5:30 seating and were promptly ushered to a table in the small "bistro" room (to the side of the larger dining room, and also away from the dreaded "tower room" which, while having nice ambiance, is murder on the ears due to its circular design). The bistro room filled up by 6:00, but to our surprise the room remained pleasantly quiet, the conversations around us a mere mumble, so you could still hear the singer and piano player over at the martini bar - nice and certainly not overly loud or a distraction. Our waiter was attentive and professional, taking our martini orders as he told us of the evening specials. While awaiting our drinks and perusing the menu, a very cute young miss came by with a bread basket - in it our choice of sesame or cheese and bacon bread - both fresh and wonderful. When she later returned to refill our bread plate during the first course, she was embarrassed by the fact that she was out of the cheese bread - but she remembered that it was my desire and returned several minutes later with a fresh loaf - cudos to her! The food was wonderfully prepared and the ingredients fresh. We gnoshed on appetizers, and all were fab, if a bit pricey. Sizzling Shrimp, in a spicy butter sauce, a giant crab cake that was refreshingly mostly crab meat and less cake, and homemake ravioli with a light mushroom cream sauce were all heavenly. For the main try the pork loin with Hoisen glaze. Smokey, flavorful loin with a hint of sweet sauce, amplified by a berry compote and served with mashed Yukon potato and a sliced pear with a hint of anise. Yummy, and at 27 bucks, quite reasonable. As usual, the martinis were wonderful, it's truly fun to go on the wild side and try any of the over 100 different choices - I experimented with a "Emerald Martini", which isn't really a martini at all, but what the heck - a blend of Limon Rum, bitters and Midori was refreshing and tasty. We decided to forego desert, saving the soufflé for another time (they are decent, but won't transport you to the Seine). read more

I went in on Thursday night to have an appetizer (the perfect Maryland Crab Cake) and a glass of wine. Mike, the Maitre'd, is as friendly and professional as it gets. A genuine pleasure to know. My waiter, Clark, was knowledgable and sincerely dedicated to making my meal memorable. I returned tonight (Friday) before the show, Cirque le Noir (fantastique!) and ordered the prime New York with every wild mushroom they could forage. It was culinary perfection. I'm an oenophile and a serious foodie. This place, in the bowels of a downtown casino, is a treasure worth the effort. I'll be returning soon and often. I've been to Roxy twice and both experience were pleasant. Services were great and informative. I love love love their bacon cheese bread! I think they served them freshly out of the oven! yummmmmmmm. I've tried their lobster escargo and the regular escargo but were good but I prefer the regular kind. Also, we tried their prime ribs, lamb and rotisserie chicken. We brought the left overs of the prime ribs home and it was still tender after I heat it up from the microwave! We came here for a bite before heading to see Peter Pan on NYE. I was disappointed that they were out of the carpaccio that evening. We had eaten a later lunch, so I wasn't starving for a big meal, so I settled on lobster bisque and a goat cheese salad. I liked the goat cheese salad, but the bisque was a bit blah. It didn't have any lobster meat in it (which I prefer) and had to be sent back for a reheat upon arrival due to the addition of cold creme fraiche before serving. Perhaps the bigger meals are better. Great place for a more upscale dinner in Reno. Almost perfect service. Filet mignon was excellent. Onion rings amongst the best I have ever eaten. Escargot, about the worst I have ever had and I would not recommend them. What was special this time here was that we were attending the Madame Houdini magic show and with your ticket dinner entrees are half off. The more I come to the downtown casinos, the more I realize what a cool thing we have here in Reno. Not exactly as high end as Vegas but pretty good and they seem to offer good deals if you are pay attention. I would visit Roxy again for sure. My two sisters and I went here for a birthday celebration. Beautiful place, but very noisy. Piano man was good but loud. We wanted to go "all out" so we ordered the Baker Lobster appetizer. It is $19 for 6 bite size chunks of lobster in butter like escargot. Won't order it again. It was fishy smelling and kind of chewy. BUT, the filet mignon was wonderful!! The 20 oz lobster tail $110, was delicious. The rib eye $39 was kind of small but very good flavor. We ordered a souffle for dessert $12, it was just ok.Kind of "eggy". The Peach tart was wonderful. So we would eat there again, jut wont order a couple of things. Our waiter Daine was courteous and prompt but he seemed a little preoccupied. Expensive but DELICIOUS!! Very quiet and romantic atmosphere, could have been because we had dinner kind of late so the place was pretty empty, but we got an entire room to ourselves. It was very nice and the room was gorgeous; it felt like an old underground wine cellar. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was attentive - as well as other servers who all kept refilling our water glasses - and knowledgeable about the daily specials. We ordered: - Filet Mignon (8oz.- medium rare): Perfectly seasoned and cooked. It cut like butter and just melted in my mouth =] no steak sauce necessary! - C.A.B. Herb Crusted Prime Rib (10oz - medium): Delicious crust and cooked perfectly. Went very well with the sauteed mushrooms, but could have came with a side or creamy horseradish in my opinion. - Dessert - Chocolate Chunk Soufflé with Grand Marnier Chocolate Sauce: Super rich and decadent. This is a wonderful dessert to share, if your able to eat it by yourself you may just go into a food-i-coma. I highly recommend trying this dessert out, it was my first time eating a souffle and I simply loved it! Just keep in mind that you need to order this when you order your meal, it takes like 35 minutes to cook I believe. Overall, our meal and experience was FABULOUS! The only down side of the night was that they were out of the lobster bisque and slow roasted duck (I was debating between the duck and the filet mignon), but it made deciding what to order much easier for me. read more

Sat at the almost empty bar for 5 minutes or so before getting a drink menu, no one greeted us, or said anything, two different bar tenders just walked by and stared at us as they served people on either side of us who had just sat down. My husband and I just enjoyed the most delicious dinner. We started with a mushroom ravioli that had a lite cream sauce. For dinner my husband had a scrumptious roasted chicken that was juicy and served on a bed of corn and potatoes. I had truffle mac and cheese and lobster corn friters which were delectilbe. The prices are a bit high if you are comparing it standard Reno prices, but the flavors are so far beyond standard Reno fare that it is well worth it. They also make thier own bread, the best sourdough we have had and we live near SF. The only drawback is the music is a little loud. read more
