    Escargot was yummy

Stopped by here for a special meal. The room is absolutely beautiful! The acoustics are not great and it can get very loud and hard to hear the person across from you. Otherwise the food was great, as well as the location. We ordered the prime rib and the New York strip. Both were amazing! The escargot was very good as well. I really liked the creamed spinach and the baked potato was nice as well. The famous bacon cheese bread definitely lived up to the hype. If anyone wants to enjoy a special meal in the Reno area this is definitely a solid choice.

Celebrating Thanksgiving at this Restaurant was simply amazing. We made a reservation weeks in advance since we decided to have dinner here. The entire crew was top-notch and friendly. The restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. The cheese bread was excellent. We ordered paella, lobster and steak. Food was delicious and tasty.

I haven't come here since I was in college.. so easily, ten years. It's exactly how I remembered it. Also, did you know this is a restaurant too? we just came for martinis but had a great time. Our martinis were made perfectly and the bartender was really nice they have PAGES of different kinds of martinis. They have live music and dancing.

I was there for an event. The service was excellent as was the food. They are known for their mushroom ravioli and it is a well deserved reputation. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. I had asked for no cheese on my Caesar salad I was impressed because when the served the ravioli I noticed it came with shaved Parmesan on top. I was going to ask for no cheese but didn't need to because my server said she remembered that I could not eat cheese and didn't put any on mine. They kept all the wine and water glasses filled. Service was just incredible.

    Excellent service.

I know I did this review while travelling, but now am wondering if it didn't make the post due to internet issues. Anyway, here goes again. We chose the Roxy for our getaway dinner while staying at the Silver Legacy next door. The food was spot on with our meal a mix of tableside and kitchen selections. We enjoyed the specialty drinks in particular. The service was highly attentive, and the ambiance, quieter than we expected for such a busy place. There is seating near the live music if one chooses. We will be back no doubt.

We had a great table, we could still hear music in the bar but were still able to have a great conversation. We all loved our meals. I had the lamb chops which I prefer medium well. Most chefs serve them rare and when you ask for med well, they over do them. They were done to perfection. They came with a risotto that made my mouth water. We started our meal with the delicious cheese and bacon bread that comes with the meals.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and had a pretty solid experience overall. We ordered the Prime Rib and the Scallop & Lobster Paella, along with a side of Shoestring Fries. The Prime Rib was the clear highlight of the meal--absolutely delicious. The first bite was fabulous: tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It's a dish I'd definitely return for. The Scallop & Lobster Paella, however, wasn't quite to my taste. The scallops were nicely done, but the lobster was a bit overcooked and dry, which took away from the dish. The Shoestring Fries were actually a nice surprise--crispy and fun to eat. I enjoyed those more than expected. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish.

The food and service are amazing! Our server was great and helped with good recommendations. The assistant Esteban was also extremely friendly made us feel so welcomed. I would return just to be greeted by Esteban. Our seating area was amazing. I had the filet mignon it was melt in your delicious. My husband had the ribeye and had an extremely delicious butter topping. I was pleasantly surprised by the most delicious mushroom ravioli

Food was delicious. I ordered the Scallops, Carrots and Broccoli. I also tried the mashed potatoes and oyster Rockefeller. Oysters were huge, broccoli was ok, carrots Id recommend and the pork belly under the scallops were a nice touch. The restaurant seemed especially loud and the server was on top of her game. Fridays are considered a weekend.

Absolutely loved celebrating Christmas Eve at The Roxy. Thankful to the staff working as they went above and beyond from start to finish. Cool open concept kitchen and we had a front row seat for it. Do not miss out on the table side old fashioned. They have a variety of liquor to choose from starting at $25-$50. It's a double so be prepared. Salmon with curry sauce was perfection. French onion soup delish and save room for dessert. The valet wasn't running but the El Dorado Casino has a free parking garage across the street and you can take the elevator to the sky bridge. You never have to go outside perfect for bad weather. Roxy has a piano bar lounge next door so stop by after or come early for a drink.

Service was great - staffs were attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, I wish the food matched the same quality as their customer service. The scallop ceviche was overly sourly and the scallops were mushy. I think they put pineapple juice in it with lime? The purple yams and bananas chips were an interesting touch (not a good one at that); I wouldn't recommend this dish at all. The French onion soup lacked salt and was bitter. Unsure how anyone can miss up classic soup like this but it happened tonight. The complementary bread - bacon/cheese bread was cold, hard, and dry. The two things that were delicious were the prime rib and puree mashed potatoes. They were cooked to perfection. The ambiance is romantic - definitely a good date night. They don't ask if you're celebrating for a special occasion so I'm assuming that you'll have to tell them.

Whenever my husband and I go for a quick getaway to Reno, we always make it a point to have dinner at Roxy! Our recent dinner there, a couple of nights ago was as expected, quite marvelous! For starters, we each enjoyed their sensational salads! I had their "Beet & Arugula Salad," and my husband had their "Caesar Salad!" For my entrée, I had the best "Scallops," ever! All four scallops, each on a sliver of mouth watering pork belly, were perfectly cooked! My husband had their melt in your mouth "Pork Pluma" for his entrée! Oh my, that dish was to die for! Truly exceptional! Both our meals were absolutely excellent! Of course, we always punctuate our dinner with a satisfying dessert! There wasn't much room left in our happy tummies, so we shared a decadent "Chocolate Torte!" Perfection! Great food! Great ambiance! And many thanks to Jesse for her great service! All that being said, Roxy has never disappointed us and we look forward to the next time!

If there is one thing I say ain't don't like was the lighting. lol I like to see my food when I eat. . The service was outstanding, the food was great and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. Other items not shown (I can only show 10 photos) We also got: the 16oz ribeye and a few desserts that were good, the sherbet, soufflé and Oreo ice cream. I recommend this restaurant 100% and when you are done if you have kids like me... go to the midway and play the games. Whoever runs that section has done an amazing job with the set up, safety and ease of play for my kids!!!

    Do they offer free bread?

Yes and at least two kinds when we were there: a sourdough and their yummy cheese bacon bread. They bring it with butter as soon as you are seated. They check back to see if you want more.

Does anyone know if the menu on their website is all they serve? I know places are limiting their menu's due to COVID. I was mainly wondering if they are still serving either the Waygu burger or the steak burger?

No burger on the menu sorry

The time it was just my husband and I was so slow. We also sat down as the second table. They had a full staff and it took the longest. The food is good. I rate the roles at a 3, but note. I like simple sushi. So I tried the rolls just to try and see what they taste like. Its good if you like likes of flavor. It removes what people say is the fishy taste. I love the taste of fish. So I typically lean towards nigiri. I will amdit their sashimi salad as a 5/5. I loved it. I thought we could order 1 per round, but thats not the case. Look at the menu and its once per visit. The salmon hand roll is a 1 for me. It was not very crispy and hard to power through. So I dont recommend that, but they do a roll of it. So if you share with friends it might be worth while. The Niger I rate a 3.5/5. There was a lot of rice, but they also give a good size slice of fish. What got me was it didn't have that crisp taste when I ate it. Its hard to explain. The food quality is good. Don't get me wrong. Just the service and my simple taste buds. Its very popular and many locals love it. The lady was very sweet, when we got to speak with her. So don't let my rating and my taste buds hinder you from eating here. So give them a try.

As I sit at the bar with salmon eggs popping in my mouth, I think: life is good, but not perfect,…read moresame for Tokyo Sushi. Most times I come alone an hour before closing and get a seat at the bar almost immediately even with groups on the waiting list. This visit, I was astonished to find 36 people on the waitlist with only an hour left so had to wait a bit. At that late point they hand out order sheets while you're waiting, which for diehard groups seated shortly before closing means placing a MEGA order as soon as you sit down, followed by a rushed scarfing-down session as the staff begins closing up shop. The menu is quite large with heavy overlap with the menus at most other AYCE places. Roll selection is good and popular, as I look to either side, I'm appreciative of most patrons filling up on rolls commonly made with fake Krab (same stuff in frozen fish sticks), deep-fried ingredients, and generous applications of mayo and eel or teriyaki sauce. These cost the restaurant far less than a steady stream of nigiri, effectively subsidizing the roughly $120 worth of assorted nigiri I'm about to consume for about a third of that price. To each their own. The rice was perfectly seasoned and properly cooked, the most important part of sushi, though on one previous visit it leaned a bit too sweet. The fish tasted good, I wouldn't call it 'fresh' as most sushi fish comes frozen (except the Salmon and shellfish) so 'well thawed and not old' might be better description. The fish-to-rice ratio is better than at most competing spots. Service is usually decent but attentiveness can vary and lag when busy if you aren't assertive and use the call button or flag someone down. Also double check your credit card bill that a higher tip that you designated wasn't charged which happened to me once. The combination of a packed dining room, skewing on the young midtown crowd side, and upbeat music, makes the place LOUD and festive, with sports on two large-screen TVs. The downside is that carrying on a conversation in a larger group can be challenging. The bar refrigerator sits high enough that you can't really watch the chefs work, and when combined with the noise and possibly a language barrier, forget about chatting with the sushi chef. Food-wise, it's easy to place Tokyo Sushi in Reno's top three AYCE options, though you'll pay a few dollars more than average at roughly $45 per person with tax and tip as of June 2026. However its extreme popularity fills the parking lot and creates wait times capable of testing almost anyone's patience. Waiting over an hour during peak dinner service is not uncommon, and the crowded waiting area may leave you standing outside or sitting in your car. Hungry couples and groups may want to consider less busy alternatives, especially on a 90+ degree summer day or when winter "rolls" around.

Service I would give a 2 star. The chocolate icecream looks like it was be prescooped into the cups then put back in the freezer after it had melted a little. In the picture, you can see it was melted at some point and then refrozen. Makes the ice cream taste gross. I got passed by 7 different times before a waiter told me to put the ticket in the holder for someone to come get it. The server was going to put it in the holder and walk away without it until I mentioned I'd already been passed by several times, then he took it with a huff. In 2018 I gave this place a 5 star so I wanted to try it again with my mother and my son. A little disappointed. I'm willing to give it another chance but not anytime soon. I need the distaste of bad service to get out of my mouth before I return.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Actually, I ate more than my fill. Enjoyed it completely. My sushi coma was justified. Freshness: 10 Service (dining time 3:30pm) : 10 Friendly: 9 (Anymore would be just awkward) Cleanliness: 10 Parking: 10 Bottom Line ------------------ Would I recommend O' A Sushi to friends and family? Yes. Would I go back there again? Yes.

We've enjoyed the food here, but had a very frustrating experience with their punch card policy…read more My wife and daughter tried to redeem several O'A Sushi punch cards that together had enough stamps for 10 meals. The card says, "Buy 10 meals and get the 11th free." It does not say that all 10 stamps have to be on the same physical card, and it does not say "no combining cards." The frustrating part is that the restaurant also did not ask us to keep using one existing card. On prior visits, they simply handed out new punch cards, which is how we ended up with multiple partially stamped cards in the first place. Then, when my wife and daughter tried to use the stamps together, the restaurant refused and said the 10 stamps had to be on one card. They spent about 10 minutes discussing it with staff, but the reward still was not honored. I understand restaurants can set whatever loyalty program rules they want, but those rules should be printed clearly on the card and applied consistently. As written, the customer-facing promise is that if you buy 10 meals, you get the 11th free. Refusing to honor multiple stamped cards, especially after handing out new cards on prior visits, felt unfair and created an unnecessarily negative experience. The food may be good, but this left a bad impression. If the policy is "one card only," they should print that clearly and stop handing out new cards when customers already have active ones.

I ordered two rolls, the negi toro roll and the fire ocean roll. I literally have pictures of both because the rice to fish ratio is a complete joke for what they are charging you. It was basically a giant mountain of rice with a tiny sliver of fish hidden inside. The food could have been salvageable but the service was also bad. I was given two sushi rolls with no soy sauce plate, no chopsticks and no napkins. I had to sit there staring at my food while it sat warm on the table. I also ordered edamame and it's a miracle that you can dry something out by steaming it. It was completely shriveled and uneditable.
