Ever since I moved to Wake Forest ( a year and a half ago ) I've been looking for good restaurants in the area. For the most part I've been extremely disappointed by the Asian Restaurant selection until today. A friend of mine recommended Sushi Siam and honestly it was a great piece of advice. I didn't really have great expectations since The restaurant was not busy for dinner but everything I ordered tasted great!!. Very tasty house fried rice, very good drunken noodles ( not too spicy, just right ) and great sushi rolls ( can't remember the names since my wife picked them but they were fresh and well prepared ). This review is based solely on delivery through door dash and long overdue since we have ordered from them numerous times. Sushi Siam is by far the most consistent when it comes to delivery. My wife's go-to's is the chicken lomein, pad thai, teriyaki chicken and bagel roll. My favorites are: - chicken green curry add eggplant (favorite) - Thai spicy basil add cashews - spicy basil fried rice - duck panang curry Ordering through door dash is easily customizable and allows you to add numerous items and omit others. Don't like scallions in your pad Thai, just select no scallions. Super easy. I'm sure it's better in the restaurant, but the delivery from a food quality perspective is the best in the area for Thai food IMO. read more

Don't get the Nad La! This is as supposed to be a "noodle" dish and was more watery with no flavor. When I asked for noodles, salt and pepper, I was told noodles are to order so I'd have to pay for a separate order of noodles. Very kind people and AMAZING food, but I have to take off a few stars for service. I come to this restaurant often, at least once every week or two, because I love the food and enjoy the atmosphere. Service is consistently slow and I've come to expect that when I decide to dine here. But I went for dinner recently and found that service was not only unbearably slow but inattentive -- my friend and I sat with empty drink glasses for ages, never received things we asked for, and when some water spilled on our table it was ten to fifteen minutes before someone came by to clean it up. One of my family's favorite places to eat! This restaurant serves a good variety of Asian food with good prices in a nice atmosphere. The last time we were there, both my husband and I ordered the Masaman Curry - he asked for his to be spicy (2) but he said that he should have asked for it to be 3 bc it wasn't spicy enough. I like mine very mild so it was perfect for me. The sauce had a very good flavor, definitely one of the best curries I've had. My children love their rolls here and always take advantage of their BOGO special. I dropped the review down a star bc not all of their dishes are delicious IMHO. I've ordered the Lad Na on a previous visit and I wasn't too impressed with the taste. The service can also be inconsistent. Overall, though, my family really enjoys eating here and we will return here any time we want some good Asian food. Alright. This place is our tried and true. I come here at least once a week and enjoy myself so I upgraded my stars. The pad woon sen is still my favorite - the curries I like as well yellow moreso than masaman. My husband is addicted to the yum yum and yummy rolls and has refused to try anything new! Admittedly I have been stuck on pad woon sen for a couple months so I am due to try something new as well. Today we tried the summer rolls for the first time and they were very fresh but a little light on the shrimp. This place is a bit hidden if you are not familiar with Gateway Commons. It is to the right of Lowe's Foods, but it is easy to miss! My family was in the mood for Thai and I wanted some sushi. Usually, you can't find a restaurant that serves both and is actually good. So I was pleasantly surprised when we ordered the food and it turned out great! I would definitely order take out again. When we came in to get the order it looked pretty deserted, so I hope they are able to stay open. If you like sushi or Thai give these guys a try and help them out! read more

We had a few errands to run and wanted to grab a bite out to eat. I checked Yelp for nearby restaurants and based on the reviews, we decided to stop at Sushi Siam. When we arrived, we checked in with the hostess and said we had a party of two. She sat us immediately. They had a pretty steady flow of guests; but, I wouldn't say they were overly busy. We sat and waited over 30 minutes without anyone coming to greet us or even to take our drink orders. I went over to the hostess and let her know we had been sitting there for about 30 minutes and still haven't been waited on. She said okay and walked away. I went back to our booth and watched one of the waiters go to a group of people who had just walked in and were sat. About another 10 minutes had gone by before we were finally greeted and our orders were taken. We ordered four rolls of sushi and it took another 30-35 minutes before we had our food. It seemed like a few tables around us were frustrated, as well. Two tables beside and across from us complained about the wait time for their bill and another table complained that their bill was incorrect. As for the food, the sushi we had was just okay. I wasn't impressed with any of the rolls we ordered. [I was so hungry by the time they brought our food that I forgot to take photos :(.] They do a free soft drink or glass of wine when you check in on Yelp (which is nice). Buyer beware! Check your receipt after dining in the restaurant! They automatically add 20% tip to bill and then come around with a card reader to the table where it asks for another tip. We were a party of 4 so didn't even think of them automatically adding a tip so we tipped our usual 20% accidentally. We wound up tipping 40% on a mediocre meal so we learned the hard way. We found this great restaurant in Wake Forest using our Raleigh Citipass book. We never even used the coupon because the lunch specials were so great. The sushi is buy one, get one everyday. We started with a Caribbean and Hurricane roll. Both were freshly prepared at the sushi bar. Our server was extremely nice and the owner also came around a few times to check on us. The decor is modern and clean and you have a sushi bar and separate seating on the left side. The lunch specials are great and you can even get them on the weekend. For $7.50, you can pick a curry dish or pad Thai or another Thai specialty and add your choice of tofu, chicken, shrimp or beef. Each lunch special comes with a soft drink and choice of soup or salad. The sushi was a great appetizer and the red curry was beautifully presented and flavorful. You cannot beat the price and the quality and service were also hard to beat. If you are in this shopping complex by Lowes Food, I highly recommend the sushi and Thai entrees. read more
