Last Saturday we went early for dinner about 515. There were several tables open but the lady was busy with takeout orders. It was 15 minutes to get a seat. Ordered four sushi rolls, hibachi chicken and shrimp fried rice. 40 minutes later the waitress comes to the table and says they didn't pick up my sushi order but our food was coming out in a few minutes. I only ordered sushi for my entree so I was very unhappy. Four tables of people who came after us were served and ate. I drink four cups of hot tea. My daughter's hibachi chicken came out it was cold and disgusting. My son shrimp fried rice had really good shrimp but it was also barely warm because I think they were holding her food waiting for the sushi order that never came. After waiting an hour and a half or for sushi rolls they finally came out to the table. The rolls were warm there was no avocado in there barely any vegetables let's just say I had raw tuna wrapped in seaweed with rice and a bunch of sauce just thrown on top of it. if I wasn't waiting for two hours and my kids had not already eaten I would've left. The cost was $70 for crap. I didn't want to pay but I wanted to leave. This was supposed to be a nice dinner but turned out to be a disgusting nightmare. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. They are a take out joint not a seated restaurant but then again the sushi was a disgrace so maybe just skip this and go anywhere else. read more

I tried this place for the first time about two weeks ago with a friend. We were looking for a new sushi spot and decided to try it out. The decor inside is nice. Not too casual and not too formal. Dim lights with a relaxed ambiance. The menu is pretty extensive, so anyone in your party should be able to find something they like. Several Japanese and Thai dishes, including vegetarian options. We ordered the crab wontons to start. Five come to an order, with plum sauce. I'm used to sweet crab wontons and a thick sweet dipping sauce. These wontons were not sweet at all, and the plum sauce had a nice flavor to it but was super watery so it didn't really adhere to the wontons. I ordered the Wolfpack roll and one of the tuna rolls. The sushi rolls are buy one get one free, and are large. Prices are pretty typical and average between $11-15. The ingredients were high quality and the flavors were distinct but not overwhelming. Our service was great. Friendly and professional, with prompt service. We spent about $45 for two people, including tip. Not bad for a sushi meal including an appetizer. Absolutely LOVE this restaurant. My boyfriend and I come here every Saturday and ask for Alice to be our server. She is always on top of refilling our drinks, making sure our sushi is perfect and just how we like it, and just simply coming over to our table to chat with us. We throughly enjoy the sushi and nigiri here, however, having a friendly server that is genuinely interested and determined to making your experience at a restaurant welcoming and thoroughly enjoyable, is something that cannot be overlooked. We will continue to come here every Saturday for as long as we can because the good service and food is not always easy to come by. This is a nice new sushi place in wake forest. I tried a variety of rolls and all of them were very good and seemed fresh. Service seemed a little slow but I think everyone is in training still. Everything is BOGO right now for soft opening and at this price it's worth it. If they get rid of BOGO after the grand opening it will be a little on the pricy side at $13-$15 per roll and I don't think we would come back at those prices. read more

I've been a regular customer here for some time. I really wish these guys would get it together. They're convenient and the food IS pretty good... but they're not consistent. Requested spice levels seem to be treated as optional, containers are often not marked indicating the spice level, rice cartons are often half full as well as other dishes are served irregularly; two of the same entree, in the same order, will be completely different in portion size. My wife spoke with them and it sounds like they really just don't care. I want to support my community but I'm not sure these guys deserve my patronage. read more

Service was great. Food is not the southern fried Asian food. I had the veggie plate with chicken and rice. The mix of the cooked vegetables and the raw shredded vegetables was really nice. The brown sauce that accompanied it was not a gravy thickness but just slightly over a broth. In other words you could eat a meal here and know it's fairly healthy. Sushi was so so. Came in after my sons baseball game at Heritage and had a Sushi craving. Thanks to Yelp found out this place. It's bigger than it looks from the outside. We came about past 8pm and there were a decent amount of people. Ordered Calamari which was $8 for 8pieces. The meat was a little hard but the breading crunchy with the dip a little sour. Presentation was colorful. Takoyaki was served hot with a small squid size at the middle not as I remembered it growing up. Pad See ew or in their menu See ew is tasty just seems burned at some parts and smallest serving I've ordered in any Thai resto. The roll is buy one get one. Ordered California and Spicy Tuna not spicy but good serving size. Ordered Coconut Cake and Fried I've Cream only comes in Vanilla that's $6. All in all satisfied. Came back today for the sushi and stayed in restaurant not takeaway so full write up available :) First of all this restaurant has a soft open status currently so be patient with the waitstaff. That being said waitstaff are awesome. The sushi that I had as well as the ones my wife had were great. My wife ordered wonton soup, though it wasn't a flavor profile she normally associated with wonton soup but she loved it. Probably a Thai twist. For the GF folks reading these reviews I have to say go here knowing how sushi is prepared and to know what you can and can not have. As a note learned something new myself today traditional Thai soy sauce is made differently than Japanese and is GF. I verified this by separate research. We have been here several times since they have opened. The sushi is generously portioned and the ingredients are all fresh. There lots of creative rolls from which to choose. One if my sons does not like sushi so he orders fried rice. The pork in the pork fried rice is tender pieces, rather than the greasy little cubes you often get. The shrimp fried rice has huge whole shrimp in it. Both varieties have crunchy carrots and sautéed onions. Service is polite and efficient. The dining room is serene and very clean. Hate to give this place a bad review since I didn't get to try their food, but their online/take-out service is terrible, and especially now-- that's important! Saturday night, my partner and I were headed to Raleigh Road for a drive-in movie and craving sushi, so we placed an order through Seamless for a few rolls at Sushi Siam. When we got there ~45 minutes later, an Asian male in a gray ISU sweatshirt told me our order was not ready. It was pretty busy/hectic with a lot of people waiting for their take-out orders, did not seem like a very smooth operation. After waiting about 15 minutes I was getting antsy because we were late for our movie, when I asked again about about my order through Seamless I was told "Oh, we don't do business with them anymore". I was pretty annoyed, because this was the FIRST online payment platform offered when I placed my meal-- how many people have definitely had this problem before?! I left pretty hangry/annoyed. My partner called the restaurant immediately to (very calmly and politely) tell them that Seamless is still listed as a payment platform, and that they should remove this in order to help their guests. The guy in the ISU sweater picked up (I recognize his voice) and very rudely kept interrupting my partner to say "what do you want" and "are you a customer or are you Seamless". Finally my partner asked to speak to a manager (since this guy clearly wasn't getting it), and the guy said "Just place your order again through Doordash" and HUNG UP ON US. It was really rude, made us late for our movie, and we definitely won't be coming back here. We called Seamless ourselves and reported that Sushi Siam needs to cancel with them... though I don't think we owed that restaurant any favors, don't want this to happen to other people. Gotta say though the french fries at the Raleigh Road concession stand are *FANTASTIC* so we still had a good dinner! read more

The rolls are really good in size too. The owners are Thai so they also have amazing Thai food. My favorite is the pad Thai noodles. They have amazing lunch specials too, you get a free drink and side with your meal. The service is great, never have a problem with it. The manager is kind and understanding. Honestly, I'm probably being too generous with 2 stars, but the people that helped us were super nice to us. We were seated quickly on a Thursday night, but EVERYTHING was cold. Our crab rangoons were ice cold in the middle. I probably could have picked up some in the frozen food section at the grocery store for less money and had better quality WARM food. We waited about 30 minutes for our food to come out, and were almost finished paying for the appetizer and out the door before our food finally arrived. We stayed because we were starving and thought that anything was better than nothing at this point. We should have left. My fried sushi roll (the bagel roll, my favorite) was lukewarm. My volcano roll was ice cold in the middle, and I could tell it was microwaved based on the cream cheese sauce on top. It was barely lukewarm on the edges, and cold in the middle. I could not get even halfway through because room temperature cream cheese soup is gross. My fiancé had the pineapple curry rice. The only good part were the bits of pineapple to him. I could not believe we waited so long for our food to be cold. Because of the long wait while we were ordering our food, the manager gave us our appetizer and drinks for free. This would have been a five star review if our entrees weren't so awful. read more

Went to Sushi Siam for the first time today, the food was really good. The prices were good. Kids meals were only $5! I got the pad thai (my normal go too) and my kids ate it. The spring rolls were amazing, my kids wanted to try them and after they ate them I informed them of the delicious veggies they just devoured. The crab wontons were good also. First time eating here and I doubt I will be back. The sushi rice tasted like grocery store sushi (no offense to grocery store sushi). What I mean by that is that it had a strong vinegar flavor and was on the hard and cold side. Maybe that is the type of sushi rice they were going for but in my opinion it was too hard and WAY over seasoned. I could actually smell vinegar when the guy sat the plate down in front of me. I ate the fish out of my rolls but couldn't eat the rice or wrapper. The restaurant is beautiful and seemed very clean but I was the only person in there...at 6:30pm. They did have a couple of people pick up ToGo orders while I was there. I would go back if not for the rice issue- which is a biggie for sushi. read more

Went here for a date night. Super sweet server, answered all of our questions and was very patient with us. We ordered the sushi and sashimi platter, green curry and cashew chicken dish. Green curry was very good, spicy but a little peanut-y which wasn't expected. Lots of veggies and chicken. Cashew chicken was extremely flavorful and delicious. Got the sushi/sashimi platter after about 30 min (reason for 4 stars, slower service with no one eating there other than one other couple) very fresh fish and large pieces.
