Fish is all flown in from Japan, 3x/week; rice is the perfect texture and temperature. Service is excellent, and very friendly (shout out to Masa!). No complaints, no notes; can't wait to come back.

$200 per person @ sushi counter. Requires a $100 deposit per person, applies to your final bill. It's a 20 course omakase meal. They offer a 5 piece supplemental addition for extra cost @ the end (your choice which one to select, if any). We selected 4 out of the 5 pieces. The seared toro & wagyu was delicious - recommend getting both! Bonus points on offering Japanese Whiskey, which my husband loved. It was a wonderful experience, Chef Suzuki & his secondary chef were both amazing! Watching them prepare each dish was interesting & they are both funny/kind & interacted with all guests. It's a very authentic/intimate experience. There are a couple tables, but def recommend sitting @ counter for full experience. It's our top 3 Omakase in Seattle - along with Ltd Edition, and Taneda. We would absolutely visit again!

To dine at Sushi Suzuki is an experience. The sushi chef Suzuki is the star performer; the dishes are the performance. It's a dinner with a mini show as we watch Chef Suzuki and his sous chefs perform with knives, flame, oh my. The restaurant is a converted garage with an intimate 20 seats seating - 10 at the counter and 10 across 3 tables. The best seats are at the counter (stating the obvious). I personally would not sit at the tables. I chose the 5pm seating which had availability at the counter. Arrive a few minutes early please, which oddly, two groups arrived late. Everyone is served at the same time, so we need to wait for them. Two host/servers handled the group with ease and warmth. Prix Fixe Omakase - $200 pp before tax and tip (service fee). Is it worth it? Only you can answer that. The seafood came from all over, from Japan, or local, or New Zealand. The look and colors of every piece are magnificent. They taste incredibly fresh and are appropriately dressed (seasoned). The pace and sequence are thoughtful. This is my kind of joy, and yes, it's worth it to me. Their menu is seasonal. Our dishes on Nov 10, 2024: Sunomono of Hokkaido scallop and snow crab Tuna Tataki O-toro Handroll Matsutaki mushroom soup - This soup is made for 4 to 6 weeks every year in November when matsutaki mushrooms are foraged in the wild; these mushrooms can't be farmed. My first impression here was 'This is awkward.' It was like stepping into someone's kitchen sitting around a counter with strangers. No one spoke at first for lack of any kind of background music or other restaurant noise that would create a more private acoustic bubble. This is my second omakase experience and compared to the first one I felt high quality pieces were served. But, if I may say so, it was just astronomically overpriced. For two we dropped $720 which included the omakase, one add on dish, some sake and beer. Of note, there is mention of sake pairings which I imagined as sake being served with the omakse. However, sake is extra, flights starting at $100. I prefer more of a restaurant atmosphere myself and although I rated the sushi creations highly I wouldn't necessarily do this again.

We had an excellent meal here. With real Japanese, authentic and expert chefs, they present to you layers of delicate and subtle tastes. Each course is well thought through and has undertones that will please the palate. We had. Mackerel, sardines, salmon, several grades of tuna, hand rolls, nigiri, and a really wide selection of tastes on all of them. There aren't many places like this in the country. You should take advantage of this one And the ambience is simple Japanese layout and decor, but it can get a bit noisy. The service is definitely top-notch and very focused on keeping the customer happy. You won't be disappointed. Just be prepared for a little louder than normal noise level

Sushi Suzuki is such a LOVELY experience. I've been here a few times to take some friends visiting in town and it's always been such a hit. There is so much care into the sourcing of the fish, the preparation, and overall experience each time I'm here. They encourage interaction with the sushi chefs so I've learned quite a bit of how they prepare ingredients. Everyone here is so kind, the food is delicious, and each bite is always unique with special preparation for every single piece. They do require reservations but I have found I can still get some within the same week. Check a few days in advance and I've had pretty good luck getting in!

This place is a hidden gem in both a literal sense, having to navigate through a cute alley way, and in that it is incredibly easy to get a reservation here unlike other sushi restaurants in this price range. The ingredients were procured from all over the globe, and thoughtfully put together in a very thorough omakase experience. The ambiance is intimate and almost gives the feeling of being in someone's home, if that someone was very wealthy. The service is very attentive but I would expect nothing less. If I could dock any points it would be that the sake pairing is priced fairly high compared to other restaurants in this price range. I'd opt for a glass and a beer over the pairing or a bottle. This is the place I go when I am craving high-end sushi last minute.

First date. Kinda nervous. Just joking. This place is a small intimate environment. Paid a little extra to sit at the bar. Sitting at the bar was an experience of its own. Prob about $10-20 more? either way, the presentation and food was amazing. A bit more affordable than some other places that charges more for a lot less.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and they did not disappoint. From the food to the service, everything was excellent! The sushi was fresh with amazing flavors. During the whole dinner the chef would interact with the customers and allow us to ask questions.

It was a pleasant omakase experience watching the chefs making sushi at the counter. We loved most of the nigiris served that night especially the toro. The flavors were delicate and sushis were expertly crafted !!! The chefs were very friendly and service was top notch!!!!

This was my second time and I have to say, this time was even better than the first. Sushi Suzuki offers an exquisite dining experience, blending traditional Japanese techniques with modern flair. I will do many things for smoked sushi bites and this time, I was in heaven while savoring the melt-in-your-mouth bites, and complex aged soy sauce. The minimalist decor and attentive service creates a refined atmosphere, perfect for the celebration we had. Accompanying our meal this time was a sake flight and we were not disappointed. Highlight of this birthday celebration was the time spent with Sensei Suzuki, where we proceeded to close down the place while discussing all the fabulous places and food in Japan. It was as if I was in a history and sushi making class with the best meal. Win!

Stunning experience. Chef was loads of fun and joked with us. Great sake menu. Phenomenal fish, with little modern twists on many of the nigiri. Just enough to elevate them but still keep them grounded in what you're here for - the fish. Cold smoked salmon. Wow, so unexpected. Various cuts of tuna, I mean if it's high quality then nothing else needs to be said. Bonito with walla walla onions - a delight. Nothing missed but certainly some bites are better than others, how could they not be? I even liked the clam, usually it's too chewy for me but this was perfect. Wife and I were recently in Japan and this place matches the quality of a lot of places we tried. Small feedback is that you can tell when the apprentice makes his cuts, they're not always a precise as chef Suzuki but he's there to instruct and give feedback. Also, love their pickled ginger.

A restaurant in a destination neighborhood; an entrance located down an alley; a restroom labeled "The Oval Office" and decorated with pictures of US Presidents, and a master sushi chef with a unabashed giggle - welcome to Sushi Suzuki. Our ever growing sushi scene is a sight to behold, but Sushi Suzuki is set apart with a fabulous combination of expertise and mirth I've not seen in other locations. It's an inviting and welcoming space, intimate without being cramped. The staff shows all the typical expertise knowledge I've come to expect in fine dining, but without any of the pretentiousness, aloofness, or serious formality that typically accompanies that knowledge. It was familiar, embracing, and welcoming. The food was delicious. It's a 20-course Omakase. Sure, it's small bites but much like the 7 sake flight we did to accompany the sushi, it all adds up. I left this very full and also a bit tipsy. With two ounce pours I more than likely would go with the 5 sake flight in the future! I'm not going to go into the detail into what I ate because it won't serve you - Chef Suzuki gets his fish fresh daily so I was informed the variety is so that it can be different items between seatings. Chef Suzuki is amazing. I had the privilege to sit across from him as he worked making expert cuts look deceptively easy. The nigiri is straight forward classics, but with subtle nuances that made every bite be spectacular. By far this is the best sushi I've ever eaten in Washington state and dare I say the best traditional Omakase I've had anywhere. It's not an inexpensive meal and with add-ons the price quickly climbs. Worth it! If I had to judge every other 5-star review I've given against Sushi Suzuki I fear most would fall short. Reservations are required and can be made on their website. Set your time because they open in one week blocks at 11 AM on Sunday and with only two seatings they can book fast. Once the word is out it may become quite challenging to get a seat!

Ask the Community - Sushi Suzuki

How long is the omakase experience?

Our reservation was at 5pm. My last photo was about 6:30. About 1.5 hours total, partly depending on how long you linger. I believe they have two meal shifts per night, so just under 2 hours is the absolute maximum.

Will the seasonal menu ever be able to accommodate dairy free option? I would love to try but have a food allergy.

Check the menu photo on this site. It shows they cannot accommodate: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free or rice-free.

Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

We of course got the omakase, which was a total of 22 pieces including non-sushi bites. The appetizer trio consisted of sashimi, bamboo, and a radish puree - while we loved the sashimi, the other two were just ok. The next course was a toro handroll which we thought was a bit odd since that usually comes later towards the end in omakase. The fish was fresh, but the seaweed was a little thick and chewy. Onto the next plate - 5 pieces of nigiri with my favorites being the otoro and sea bream. Special shoutout to the albacore as well (I've never had albacore so soft!). After this one, the 6 piece nigiri were a hit or miss - while I LOVED the kanpachi (probably my favorite piece of the night), some of the seared ones didn't feel that fresh or flavorful. We then got the chawanmushi which I actually really loved, and I'm thankful they were able to substitute the shrimp with rockfish for my allergy. Finally, for the dessert course we got some miso soup, a fried anago nigiri, and for me oranges (instead of the egg due to my shrimp allergy). I did think it was odd to get miso soup last, but the anago was really good and the oranges were nice and fresh. Overall, there were definitely some standout pieces (kanpachi, toro, and chawanmushi) but the overall omakase experience felt a little disjointed. I'm glad to have finally tried this spot though - the location is beautiful and definitely still worth a visit for the legacy!

My partner and I can stuff our faces with a large box here for just over 30 dollars. They are prone to have a line at dinner time and even off hours on the weekend though. Plus, there is no parking in the area so your best bet is to park by the H Mart or by Bellevue Square before walking over. Seating isn't the most plentiful and it's first come first serve where you bus your own items. Haven't been lucky enough to swing by while their miso soup machine was working, but they do offer complementary sauces (spicy mayo, unagi sauce, soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, and plastic gloves for those who prefer eating with their hands. Tip: all the rolls are placed at the front of the selection so make sure you save enough room for the salmon belly nigiri at the very end. Honestly, even though I know the rolls are a bit of a trap, their rolls are pretty tasty still and you really can't go wrong. Really strong 4 stars.

They don't take phone calls or reservations online - very old school. Which I think makes it more desirable. We ended up getting a special room with a "chabudai" style table! I was super excited because I've never experienced it before. What I did find pleasant was that although it was a lower table, there was an opening beneath the table that allowed your legs to hang rather than having to sit Indian style. Tyson was an amazing server. Was attentive, accommodated our allergies and was thoughtful with us having a young child. He was so pleasant and polite! We enjoyed the following: Baked miso glazed eggplant - YUM and melts in your mouth. Black Miso Cod Collar - this was pleasantly surprising and so delicious. Eat bite was tender and flavorful. Simple yet so appetizing. Sushi rolls were both fresh and well prepared. The nigiri was also great and fresh- not fishy. We additionally ordered takoyaki - which I normally don't love but this one was very tasty and I enjoyed the texture. Lastly karage chicken which came with a creamy slaw. Overall it was such a pleasant experience and we look forward to coming back!
