Outstanding, is the first word that comes to mind. I've already been back twice because I keep dreaming about the creamy udon noodles. If you try one thing from the menu I recommend the seaweed pollack roe - you get the seafood flavor of the seaweed & shrimp come through with the creaminess of the sauce, and it all comes together so well. The volcano gochujang noodles were great too. Their main dishes (we got the Galbi the 1st time and the Je-Yuk the 2nd time around) were flavorful and the salad had a nice touch of Yuzu flavor on it. We also ordered the M.B.P drink (mangoes, berries, & peach) and it was nicely done where it wasn't too sweet nor punchy with the alcohol. The service was kind and fast, the servers recognized us from our first visit! Ambiance is cozy and small, recommend coming near opening or close if you don't make a reservation. Will be back for the 4th time in the near future!

Seaweed pollack roe Automatic 18% service charge as listed on their QR code menu Fremont's been getting a lot of traction from foodies lately, and it's going for both old and new places! This slightly newer place is within a very busy intersection on Fremont, not far from the newer Moment Cafe and a slight ways away from the Fremont Troll where I snagged parking like all my other visits to Fremont on a Friday at 5:30pm. It's bright and sunny for this visit, so a ton of natural light shines inside at the front tables and at the waiting area while all other tables for groups of 2-4 are deeper inside. The menu is offered both as physical copies and as a QR code situated near each table. From recommendations, the salmon pollack roe was the dish of choice for this visit. It was oddly spicy; tons of spice flakes were sprinkled on top of the green onions that made up an even bigger portion of the top condiments. I almost thought the seaweed cream sauce was spicy for a second there! Mixing everything together really change things though; salmon roe gave a rich and buttery kind of taste, which complemented the cream sauce. Shrimp was few in number but added more to the seafood-y taste this dish has. I just wish the portion was bigger for the price. Pretty great food so far, and I'd come next time with more people to try their shareables. Keep in mind they add an 18% gratuity service charge on your bill regardless of the size of your party, so expect to pay more than what you see.

Great place to get Korean food in Fremont, OK service, the food came out super hot and fresh. They have a great selection of drinks as well as food items that are shareable. Overall, I highly recommend and would come back. Sidenote; there is a 18% gratuity charge automatically added to every single check which is essentially an included tip.

So happy to have found this great spot in the heart of Fremont! We walked over from Gas Works Park for a bite to eat and had a really nice experience. We ordered family-style so we could try a variety of dishes, including noodles, richly marinated beef, and some delicious dumplings. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. Portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price, but the quality and flavors really stand out. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the food came out quickly, which made the whole experience even better. The menu isn't huge, but it's clear there's a lot of thought behind each dish. The space is on the smaller side, so I'd recommend making a reservation ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more.

Girl I didn't even know they only had 15 servings of beef tartare.... Thank god I'm a hungry bi$&@ cuz I got there the second they opened. And the Beef tartare was bussin'- sesame oil forward and beautiful! Paran is cute little tight spot on a busy corner of Fremont. We went there on Fri and it deffo filled up pretty quick after we got seated. The cocktails were delish. The matcha one was earthy with just the right amount of zing. I got the pollack roe udon and my friend got the gochujang udon, and they are both creamy spicy flavorbombs. We stuffed ourselves silly and I would for sure comeback for nice casual evening dinner. I would just say get there early like right at 5 so you don't miss out on the beef tartare and get a table right away.

To start, the food was very good. The galbi was so juicy - a must get. This was my favorite! The rose Jjim-dak the chicken was sooo tender. I also think the pollack roe noodle absolutely should be part of the order as well. The location was very convenient as it is right by the bridge and the inside was quite cozy. A good date night spot. The service was good to great in my opinion- I called in and the reservation times got mixed up but because they messed it up they took it on themselves to get us a table when they could. I really appreciate the effort they put in making sure that we were accounted for!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get seated for a party of 2 easily by the windows. The restaurant is small so I definitely recommend getting on the Yelp waitlist early or making a reservation. We had three dishes: seafood noodles, perilla noodles, and the salad. The texture of the noodles was excellent - chewy and evenly cooked. The seafood noodles had a generous amount of shrimp and the sauce was creamy and had crushed seaweed mixed in. It is a bit sweet but I didn't mind that. The perilla noodles were lighter. I liked the dressing on the salad - a creamy sesame.

We finally made it to Paran, a new Korean grill in Fremont! We've tried walking in before but it's always packed, so we booked a Sunday 5:30 p.m. reservation (and the restaurant still filled up fast). The menu is straightforward: appetizers, three main grill choices (beef, pork, chicken), and noodle dishes. * Seaweed Noodle: Excellent. The sauce was rich and creamy, with a fantastic umami flavor from the seaweed and roe. * Grilled Beef Rib: Highly recommend this. They conveniently carve the meat off the bone for you, and it comes with plenty of meat and mushrooms. It is served with a side salad that actually stands out--unlike most side salads, this one was incredibly fresh with a bright yuzu dressing. The only minor drawback was that the grilled food was a bit oily overall. However, the space is clean, and the speed of the service is absolutely phenomenal.

Modern Korean food can be hit or miss but Paran gets it right. It still feels comforting and thoughtful, with amazing flavor. Refined without trying too hard or overcomplicating things CHILI OIL TTEOKBOKKI -- as a self-proclaimed tteokbokki connoisseur, this was a real standout for me. It had the illusion of spice without being spicy, and the chili oil in place of gochujang was an unexpected twist that worked so well. The chopped pistachios added such a nice crunch. BEEF TARTARE -- rich and savory, with a soft, silky texture that practically melts in your mouth. The chopped Asian pear added a touch of freshness, and the pistachios brought a nice crunch for contrast. PARAN GAL-BI -- steakhouse-level tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth. The marinade was spot on, bringing out that rich galbi flavor without overpowering the beef itself. And the signature tomato gochujang sauce? Addictive. The citrusy side salad was the perfect fresh, bright balance. Ruby Citrus and MBP were both stiff yet light, and paired really well with the menu. The decor and ambiance reminded me of Korea in the '80s -- an artful nod that felt nostalgic and intentional without feeling dated. They were super busy, but the service was still warm and efficient

Great food and nice atmosphere! The dishes were all tasty although a bit pricy given the portion sizes. We got the seafood pollok roe noodles and the je-euk (stir fried pork). Both dishes were great but I really liked the pork! The marinade and the dipping sauce were very flavorful. Paran is a nice place to check out if you're looking for modern Korean food. Again, the food is good but a bit overpriced for the portions.

There was so much hype for this place when I first opened so I knew that I had to check it out. We had a reservation for a Sunday night and it wasn't as packed as I thought. The location is nice as it's in central Fremont and I love the cozy vibe of the place. Now talking about the food, I think it was pretty good but nothing that stands out too much. We got their famous galbi platter and their seaweed pollack udon. I think the galbi was good, but it's super oily. It feels heavy when you eat it even with the salad on the side, it also tends to lean pretty . And for $52 it's not worth the money for the portion. Same thing goes for the udon. I think it was way too expensive for what it is, but the flavors were OK. I like it a lot, but my partner did not like it at all. It was pretty umami. I would like to come back again and try the other dishes as well as their drinks.

    Doenjang noodles
    Maxine L.

Small cozy spot with cute minimal decor. We came in on a weekday for dinner, but the place was packed and quite loud. We ordered the yukhoe, the kalbi, the roe cream noodles, and the doenjang noodles. Overall, every single dish was on the sweeter side. Korean cuisine does lean sweet, but this place was noticeably very sweet. So might not be for everyone. My favorite dish was the kalbi. I loved the tomato/bbq sauce it came with, and the meat was so flavorful and suuuper tender. Yukhoe second favorite. The sesame and pistachio and beef was an interesting combo, but it worked. The noodles for me were okay. The cream sauce was really separated, and tasted mostly of cream and not much umami from the roe or seaweed. Doenjang noodles were the most sweet but still okay. All in all, pretty good spot, but def come prepared for a blood sugar spike lol. Would also agree that portions were a bit small given the price

Came a little after 5pm and got seated right away. The food came out super quick too without us feeling rushed. We started with the beef tartare and it was a standout. It came with black sesame vinaigrette that adds a really nice nutty depth, and the grated pistachio on top was such a good textural touch. Loved that it was served with crispy fried wontons for scooping! everything together was perfect. The rosé jjimdak was rich, creamy, and super comforting with tender chicken and chewy rice cakes soaking up all that sauce. The seafood pollock roe noodles were creamy with a nice kick. Everything was so good and I'd definitely be back to try other things on the menu & their matcha cocktail!

They've gotten so busy now that they do it in the back, and if you don't time your visit right, be prepared to wait in a long line. This is my absolute go-to combo on a chilly day, and honestly, the best hangover cure: Wonton Noodle Soup, Cod Fish Congee, Chinese Broccoli, and Chinese Donuts (Youtiao). You cannot skip the donuts--they are a must! My personal ritual is adding a splash of pink vinegar and chili paste into the congee, dipping the donut in, and taking a huge bite. It's pure comfort that warms you up from the inside out and instantly heals a tired soul. My husband prefers the beef wonton noodle soup because it's rich and hearty, but I love the classic, clean flavor of the plain wonton soup with its seafood-based broth. A quick heads-up: The service is typical for an authentic, bustling Chinese restaurant--don't expect fancy fine-dining treatment, but the staff is genuinely friendly and efficient. Also, **it's CASH ONLY**, so come prepared! Among the handful of restaurants I've stayed loyal to for 20+ years, this spot holds a very special place in my heart. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I stopped in before a flight, which in hindsight was a mistake. We ordered around 12:30 PM (niku beef udon, garlic pork udon, and chicken karaage), and it took nearly an hour to receive everything. The karaage came out first after about 40 minutes, then one udon about 10 minutes later, and the final dish close to an hour after ordering. Because of this, we weren't able to eat together unless one of us let our food go cold. On top of that, the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold, which made the long wait feel even worse. It also seemed like many other tables were experiencing similar issues--orders coming out at different times or missing entirely, with customers having to repeatedly follow up. What stood out most was the lack of communication. There was no acknowledgment of the delays, no check-ins, and no apology--not when the food was dropped off, and not even when we left. Given that we had to pay upfront and the price point was $20+ per bowl, it made the experience feel even more disappointing. While the portions were decent and the noodles seemed handmade, the food itself didn't feel particularly special to justify the wait or cost. I truly hope this feedback is helpful. With better timing, communication, and overall service, I think the experience could be much better.

Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. The start of the journey began with the requisite parking fiasco and issues that are perpetual in the Seattle ID...but that should never, and I mean never, stop an important mission like finding a truly delicious noodle restaurant. When we went in, it was pretty empty. We were immediately sat, and ordered. The hot jasmine tea quickly followed. Our Calamari came out quick and was delicious to the point I nearly had to fight my son for the last piece. I quickly surrendered as he does stab people...see above...he parried my fork and stabbed the last piece before quickly finishing the move. Our mains came out shortly after we finished the calamari. The 14yo ordered beef brisket noodle soup. He said it was delicious, but too spicy after he added too much chili oil. The wife scoffed at the idea that there's such a thing as too much chili oil and ate some of his soup. This was after she dug into her hot pot. I did get a chance to sample the delicate pork pieces and the flavorful rice. The slightly crispy rice at the bottom of the pot were so delicious. I had the Singapore style fried noodles. Really tasty. The noodles had so many flavors from the vegetables to the meats (shrimp, chicken meat & egg, and pork) and the sauce. I enjoyed the meal, and look forward to discovering more dishes to try on our adventures trying to find parking. JuFeng, thank you for the delicious meal!
