No Walk in. Reservations only through instagram. Might have to wait a couple days. So worth it tho.

Any tips on how to get a reservation? I''ve tried Instagram and I dont want to bother him but I am from out of town and would fly down

Vis Instagram is how we made reservations as well. Last time we had dinner he was working by himself. Not sure if that is still the case. Hope his wife is back

We stayed in the entrance area and waited. There was only one other person waiting, who appeared to be a delivery driver, so it wasn't busy. I told her no, we were waiting for a table, and showed her the buzzer the hostess had given us. She then asked if we could wait outside. I was completely confused and caught off guard. Before I could even process what was happening, she was literally pushing us toward the door. I ended up standing outside with my daughter, completely confused and honestly in shock. It took me a moment to process what had just happened and wonder why we were being treated that way. I eventually went back inside because I wanted to tell her that after being treated that way, **we were choosing not to eat there**. She was across the restaurant by then, so I left the buzzer on the counter and walked out. I have never experienced anything like this as a customer. The treatment was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. If there was a reason they didn't want us waiting inside, there was a polite way to communicate that. Physically ushering us out the door without any explanation was unacceptable. My daughter and I left feeling confused and disrespected. I'm still perplexed by the entire interaction. We were there simply to have a meal, and instead we were made to feel like we didn't belong there. **Needless to say, we chose not to eat there, and we will not be returning. Chef Sei is an inspiration. Took a client to Sushi after our meeting, and boy was I impressed. I am a regular to San Francisco Sushi establishments- so it is needless to say it's difficult to impress me with good quality sushi. But this was great. Sushi is a really hit or miss kind of thing. For a moment we had the feeling that the evening would be great. The place looked very clean and even a little bit glamorous, so we thought we had chosen a really good spot. Unfortunately, our impressions changed as soon as we started ordering. We ordered a salad, a sushi roll, and monkfish liver. The monkfish liver tasted so "authentic" that it felt like it had just been taken straight out of a can. It definitely did not taste like something that had been prepared in that kitchen. From the beginning to the end of our visit, we never received water. When we asked for wasabi and ginger, the waitress told us that they would bring it when the sushi arrived. We repeated our request for ginger, but the answer was exactly the same. When the roll finally arrived, it looked like someone might have started eating it yesterday and they simply decided to give it another chance today. It wasn't really sliced so much as it was spread across the plate. On the very edge of the plate there was a tiny bit of ginger and a tiny bit of wasabi. Both looked like they might have been borrowed from someone else's plate. When I looked at the waitress questioningly, she explained that if we wanted more wasabi and ginger, we could pay extra and they would bring more. I checked the rating later and somehow it has four stars. I'm giving it two stars -- and only because the sushi chef was very polite when we arrived and the place was clean inside.
