My husband has been eating here over the past few months and told me it was the best sushi he's had! Coming from California and Las Vegas, I was eager to try it and he was not wrong. First, the restaurant is beautiful, nestled in the heart of Buena Vista on Main St near all the excitement! The decor was perfectly placed with an elegant feel of a jazzy night in a forest. The ambiance was nice, very clean, and the service was top notch! Chris and Goff (sorry if it's spelled wrong) helped us last night and today when we went back to try the lunch specials. They remembered us and were always kind to check on us if we needed anything. Our plates were always quickly cleaned off our table and the waitresses were very kind and polite. The food was impeccable! The miso soup was refreshing with a strong dashi broth to warm you up on a cold night. The I Love Salmon came with 5 pieces of sashimi, 3 nigiri and their JB Roll (salmon and cream cheese). It was beautifully plated on a playful and colorful plate. The pieces of fish were thick and the rice was warm with a perfect amount of flavor. This is honestly my favorite sushi spot after trying many sushi places across California from LA to Humboldt and in Las Vegas from Tao to All You Can Eat options of every tier. The dragon roll was another plate of perfection with thick pieces of shrimp tempura with a good crunch to it! Today we came back and tried their lunch menu. I was surprised to see it not as busy as the lunch menu has great options and prices! I got the pad Thai box which came with chicken or tofu pad Thai (I got chicken), 4 pieces of California Roll, 3 pieces of nigiri and 3 pieces of sashimi for only $22. Honestly that's such a steal! My husband got the curry box which came with a bowl of chicken curry, steamed rice, 4 pieces of California rolls, 3 nigiri pieces and 3 sashimi pieces for the same price of $22. Perfect if you'd like to try a sample of different things they have. We also tried their Seafood Sampler which came with Calamari, Fried Shrimp and Fried Crab. It was a great appetizer and the sauces complimented the seafood so well. On a side note the little slices of oranges that came with it were also really sweet! I wish I had the whole orange. Lastly we shared the mango strawberry float which is a refreshing sweet drink. The mango on top reminded me of sherbet which was very light and the drink had a good sweetness to it from the strawberries. This is definitely a must go to if you're in or driving through Buena Vista, Colorado. Perfect place for any occasion with a calm dimly lit restaurant. Probably one of the better Asian fusions in town. The vibes are quite exotic and they're plenty busy. Took a while to get what we want. Didn't try the sushi, figured it's a largely Thai influenced fusion. The Basil fried rice wasn't too impressive, it was on the wet side. Portion is large though. Tonkatsu ramen was just ok too. The marinaded eggs were not soft cooked, but we were craving for Asian so that's what we got! Again portion was generous so the three of us shared these 2 entrees and got pretty full. The Thai iced tea tiramisu sounded really yummy and looked super good from the picture on the menu. Reality? Not so much. Still any sweet treat at the end of a meal is better than no treat at all. read more

We came here to get takeout on a road trip and it was wonderful. The Massamann curry was so good we ended up drinking the dregs! The drunken noodles were also really good. The staff were so nice they let us sit outside for a bit and brought us waters even though we were supposed to be doing takeout. I definitely recommend! read more

Was so happy to see another Sushi Thai location after a couple of excellent meals at the Salida location. Service was good, generous portions of food (fried tofu and chicken pad Thai), and lots of flavor. The pad Thai noodles were cooked expertly, included the freshest chicken I think I've ever tasted on a Thai dish, and it was saucy! My disappointment was in the notable differences in how this location prepares the same exact meal I love so much from the Salida location, just 30 min down the road. I'd probably make the trek to Salida next time, but am glad they're doing well enough to pop up in new places around the area. read more

Superb in every way. We stopped in while en route from Boulder to New Mexico and were blown away by the ambiance (so warm and welcoming), the food, and the value for the money. Our spring rolls came with a dipping sauce far more interesting than the typical peanut buttery stuff; we think there may have been a touch of mild curry in it. The sashimi bento featured unusually generous slices of ahi tuna, yellowtail and salmon as well as a very good seaweed salad and California roll. The miso soup had an intriguingly smoky undertone, extra umami. The basil fried rice was excellent - it's a simple dish, but this one was subtly seasoned and loaded with veggies (including asparagus). The waitstaff were unfailingly attentive; Tah (Chris) was great! The bathrooms were spotless. The tuna and hamachi were flown in from Japan the day before (Monday). The salmon was Scottish. We could taste the freshness! The price was incredibly reasonable for such high quality and such large cuts. It would have been three times that in Chicago or NY. (Or Boulder.) I had a taste for genmai cha (a green tea with toasted rice). They only had it iced, but they prepared a hot one for me and I was delighted to see it was made with whisked, powdered tea, not a teabag. Nice touch. All was really quite perfect. Not a single thing we would have changed in the experience. We plan to stop back on our way home. They have a few other locations, by the way - Alamosa, Salida, Poncha Springs, and a place west of Manitou Springs. We did our best to pitch them on Boulder! In short: What a find. read more
