But the sushi is hands down the best part of the sushi time experience. They never skimp on the fish in the rolls. Some sushi restaurants overcharge for tiny rolls filled with cucumber and avocado and just a morsel of fish - not so at Sushi Time. Sushi Time in Elmhurst earns a solid 4 stars. My hubby and I are always searching for a sushi restaurant to replace our favorite in lovely Madison, WI. Sushi Time comes closer than any other restaurant we've tried in the 'burbs. Their regular roll offerings (salmon/mango, tekka, and salmon skin) are the usual along with some more creative rolls (mango, sweet potato, asparagus...). All were very reasonably priced. We also tried two specialty rolls (yellowtail hot tail and veggie caterpillar) - which came with their own dipping sauces. These were both very good, but there was something 'off' tasting about the yellowtail. And I think the prices on the specialty rolls are a few dollars too high. The service was great; friendly, attentive, but not overbearing and the space was nicely laid out. I enjoyed sitting along the windows. It's a small space though, so if it's a busy night I imagine it would feel very cramped. read more

Wow, this might be mine and my bf's new sushi spot. We had the Blackhawks roll & the Sweetheart roll at first. When we ordered we asked for soy paper instead of nori. The waitress forgot to mention to the chefs to use soy paper, but they quickly made new ones. Not a big deal. These 2 rolls were absolutely amazing. Great flavor, fresh taste. Perfect amount of crunch to softness. We were still hungry and got their specialty roll the Cupid roll... simple but sooo tasty. All the waiters and waitress were very attentive. I eat sushi frequently in downtown Elmhurst, usually at Sushi Nest. Yesterday I tried Sushi Time for lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere - it's been remodeled with a clean modern style, and has (muted) big screen t.vs behind the sushi bar. I had the sashimi lunch which included 8 pieces of fish, a California roll, and complimentary miso soup. It was very good and the service was friendly, fast and personable. The cheerful, bright atmosphere is perfect to lunch and when I'm hankering for Japanese at noon this will be my new go-to location. It's a perfect spot for lunch when running errands, or meeting up with friends. read more

This place is awesome! We ordered the other night as we were across the street and saw it had perfect reviews. While it is quite new there were a lot of 5 star reviews so we figured we had to try it. Ran over and placed an order which was delivered promptly to us back at the wine bar - super cool. Next time we will order to eat at the wine bar instead of to go... Sushi was delicious. We went back a week later and opted to eat in the restaurant itself. Food was fast, delicious, and waitstaff was very attentive. Just left Sushi Time. It was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. The whole staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was fast. We ordered crab rangoon and a seasonal special, Rock 'N Shrimp, as appetizers. Both were delicious. We were seated at the sushi bar, and after the appetizers the chefs handed us a sample of a seasonal specialty roll (Fire Amazing) on the house. Then our sushi rolls came out: Rock 'N Roll, Jackal 'N Hyde, Snow Mountain and Rolling Stone. Everyone's favorite was the Rock 'N Roll, but they were all fantastic and loved across the board. I'll be telling all my friends who like sushi about this place and will return frequently. If anyone from Sushi Time is reading this, thank you. We absolutely love this place! Always fresh sushi, they always get our complicated orders right, and they have wonderful service. My go to roll, is the Yellow Hot tail and my vegan friend loves the caterpillar roll and a I ado rolls. I also love that I can add brown rice instead of white. Have ordered from Sushi Time a couple times. From these various occasions, I can tell you that they are consistent in serving you quality sushi. Everything has tasted exceptionally fresh on every occasion. On top of that, the size and fish to rice ratio on their nigiri is pretty generous compared to what you would see from most other similarly priced sushi places. Their speciality rolls are also pretty sizeable. I recommend their Sushi Deluxe combo. Comes with 10 nigiri and 1 specialty roll(pink lady roll is my favorite) and miso soup. It's around 30 bucks, so not cheap, but honestly worth it considering the quality and portions. If you order during lunch hours, you can also get more affordable sushi combos. All in all, pretty reasonable price given the consistently high quality food they serve. read more

The rolls are not the most creative you will ever see, however the sushi is incredibly fresh, the rolls are huge and the pricing is really reasonable. I eat here often and I have never had a bad meal. Not only is the sushi great, but the other dishes are very good too, especially the fried rice. I almost always have to doctor up fried rice when my wife orders it from a Chinese restaurant, and it normally is dry and flavorless. Not here, the rice is moist and perfectly seasoned. Sushi Time is more of a to go place, though there is some seating inside, in non-covid times, however there is a nice wine shop across the street that allows you to order from them and eat it there. Finally, the owner is super nice and friendly, more people in the industry should be like him. He makes you want to support him and his business. read more
