Been wanting to go here for over two years. My husband and I were so excited to finally have the opportunity to go. Unfortunately our experience was off putting. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant. There was one group ahead of us at the hostess line. The hostess was nowhere to be found for a good 10 minutes. When she arrived she seated the people ahead of us and after a few minutes she came back and told us we would have to wait twenty minutes to be seated. We went to Sushi Time today, the Hostess was very friendly and we were seated quickly. Our server was also very nice and helpful with the menu. We had several rolls, the potstickers and some nigiri(eel and seared tuna) it was excellent. Our grandson had the kids teriyaki chicken, which he wolfed down. My only minor complaint, the tempura vegetables needed to stay in the fryer another minute or two. The batter was hot but soggy, otherwise it was tasty. I heard they had Red bean and mango ice cream, those being our favorites but unfortunately they didn't have it today. They did have vanilla, chocolate and rainbow sherbert. We came for all you can eat sushi. Paid $35 each. The rice amount in each piece of sushi is ridiculously huge. We ( 2 people) are full after 8-10 bites with a lot of rice left. I have been eating many all you can eat sushi restaurants but haven't seen a lot of rice in Nigri like this. It is actually all rice you can eat. If we want rice, We can pay for a 20lb bag of rice for $35. And still way cheaper here. Me and my husband got out of the restaurant full of rice in stomach after 10 pieces of Nigri. I don't mind to pay more for good foods, but cheating your customers like this is just sad. It tells me alot about the owners and the sushi chef having no integrity. For sure we will not come back here again but I want to warn other customers. Don't come here for all you can eat sushi. Save your stomach and money for something else. read more

The food was really great. Just about everything else was pretty bad. We were there for a whole hour and a half and all we got was 2 sushi rolls. The server barely came by and didn't fill up our waters once. After we were finished it took forever for them to give us our bill tickets. They even had the audacity to ask for an additional tip even after the automatic 18% gratuity. I'm upset I couldn't leave no tip at all. I will not be coming here again in the future. read more

They prioritize all-you-can-eat customers over everyone else. My family ordered 3 rolls. We received one of them and didn't see the next one for 15 minutes. In the meantime the table next to us, who was seated AFTER us and got the AYCE service, received plate after plate of rolls, appetizers, and entrees. Our waitress couldn't explain the delay. We finally had to complain to the owner to get our 3rd roll 40 minutes after we were seated. They need to overhaul their process so those who don't order as much as the AYCE-ers don't fall through the cracks. read more

The fifth Ave. was not my favorite but it was not horrible. The Donalds we delicious. I washed it all down with an ice cold Sapporo. YUM. Okay, so how did we not know that this place is right across from Hobby Lobby (crafts and sushi are super dangerous, are you kidding me?!). Tested the place out Saturday around 1:30pm. Their lunch times on Saturday end at 2:30pm, but they reopen for dinner. All you can eat & a la carte options. Super clean and spacious for large groups. They are also willing to grab phone orders, if you need takeout! First, some background. My wife and I have eaten at Sushi Time twice. I have lived in Asia for two years and about half of my time was in Japan. Sapporo to be specific. I have eaten Sushi in some of the best restaurants in Japan, so I have some experience with the cuisine. Is Sushi Time in the same league as some of those restaurants? Absolutely not, but it is a very good Sushi restaurant and by far the best we have experienced in Idaho Falls. We thoroughly enjoyed both times we have eaten here and will be regular customers in the future. Let me also say, we can only speak to the Nigiri Sushi. It is our favorite and usually all we order in Sushi Restaurants. It is a fun restaurant to experience. The service is excellent, fast and friendly. The types of fish included in their Nigiri offerings are somewhat limited, but what they do offer is very fresh, tasty and properly prepared. I've noticed several reviews mentioning displeasure with the sushi rice. We found the quantity, quality, texture and taste of the sushi rice to be spot on. We highly recommend Sushi Time. read more

Only been there twice and most likely wont return. The food is mediocre. They seem to forget the ginger and wasabi on the plates when they serve the rolls. And the rice was dry . And I dont seem to understand the deep fried gyoza's, when they are suppose to be pan fried on one side. And why arent they served with sauce? I also wasn't a fan of the miso soup. Up front, this an all you can eat joint, so don't think you can get away with ordering several rolls at once thinking you'll sample a bit here and there. NOPE! Eat what you order, or you'll be charged the full roll price of what's left on the table. Start slow and take a friend or five if you want to sample a good portion of the menu. Having Celiac Disease, when eating out I need to know that the food I'm consuming is gluten free and safe. Most places have few options for my special diet and little knowledge regarding it. This place had a menu for me that made ordering easy and I felt I had plenty to choose from. I'm thankful for the accommodations of a well educated and trained staff in special dietary restrictions. The quality of the food was fresh and delicious and the prices are comparable. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable and kept up with our requests for MORE. I've never considered myself a fan of sushi, but Sushi Time has definitely changed my opinion on that. I can see them having some issues though, they need to work on communication between wait staff and sushi chefs. I sat at the sushi bar and witnessed some orders taking quite a while and some confusion on where orders were going... could be a problem on very busy nights. Mi-ann, the owner, has put me off coming back. Other than their nasty tempura, they have good sushi, but she chastised me for not eating my rice. I understand a rule of AYCE is you must eat the rice, but I ordered ala carte. Then she chastised my family for the rice I didn't eat and called me a liar when I told her it was all mine. All she had to do was look at my order to verify. As petty as she seems, she probably took the rice pieces in the back and counted them for comparison to my order. I'm an adult and don't expect to be scolded when I spend $50 at a place. I could let that slide, but being called a liar is way too much. We usually come once per month. I won't be returning. She also yells at her staff. Horrible boss and horrible person. read more

Very nice experience! Standard AYCE sushi rules - yes, you have to eat it all. Don't be a glutton, pace yourself or pay the extra fee. Rolls were all good. Definitely try The Special, 5th Element. I am updating my old review. After staying away for awhile after some bad experiences. My husband and I decided to try sushi time again. I'm not sure what they have done, but we got our food in a timely manner. The sushi was always good the service was a different story. It has now again become one of our fav sushi spots in Idaho falls. We frequent sushi time now. To this day haven't had another issue with not receiving our food. I'm from out of town and eat here with my family every time I come to Idaho. 3-4 times a year since they opened. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. Absolute terrible service. Very rude, management would not honor coupon used many times prior. A child spilled a drink and a parent cleaned it up, server did not offer any assistance. Two guests didn't get their rolls ordered early until everyone else had at least two. After waiting for an hour they had only received one roll each after ordering two or three. Management wanted to charge everyone for all you can eat even though they only had one roll each. Had to have manager called to the table and his attitude was very rude. Quality wasn't terrible, but even for individual rolls(not ALL YOU CAN EAT) they were incredibly small for the price. I understand that the AYCE meal would be smaller so you can get more variety, but for their full priced rolls I expected them to be a little more then the smaller ones they are pumping out. read more

As a sushi lover, the food is average ish. But the waiting is ridiculous. If you want served a second round of sushi, get out your phone, it will be a while. I have made point of ordering EVERYTHING I will want when the wait-staff first comes to the table, which can also be a painful wait. I've been a couple times at 11:10am and the service is tolerable but at 6pm you better bring your Centrum Silver, cuz you might grow old while you wait.
