I LOVE sushi and this place had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I am from Califonia and I'm SUPER picky about my sushi but the reviews on here gave me hope. So I ordered their all you can eat deal because I love sushi so it was a better deal for me that way, at least on paper it was. I don't mind paying $30 for all you can eat as long as I'm eating more than just rice. I was super disappointed with the proportions, there were some bites I could only taste the rice. I understand that they make their profit by using more rice than fish but it was barely any fish at all in the rolls. When I ordered the Nigiri it was better because I could actually taste the sushi and what I had was very fresh and tasty I loved it. I just wish I hadn't wasted calories on rolls of rice. I would go back to give it another try but only one more if the proportioning is that off again I won't be inclined to go back. read more

We ordered take out & it was delicious. I want to go back & actually eat in. I ordered a tofu dish off the kids menu for my son & it was delicious!! I ended up eating it because he's two & his taste buds change by the day. I don't remember the rolls I ordered but they all were great! I have enjoyed coming to Sushi Time with my teachers buddies for a couple years. We've come back over and over because the sushi is delicious, the variety is impressive, the atmosphere is professional, and the service is thoughtful. There was a single time in my 20-or-so visits that I had a rough experience. Fortunately, my friends talked me into coming back and we found out from the manager what had gone wrong. I am an avid sushi lover. However, the way the rice is prepared is with a filler that is salty or has vinegar in it. I couldn't believe it. They won't stay in business like that. I once saw a sushi place do that in California and it was bankrupt in 12 months. I typically eat sushi atleast once a day. The rice was like glue rice, it was so sticky and so much that it would get stuck in your throat. and there seemed to be much more than any other respectable sushi restaurant would use, AYE or not. The fish was tasteless, the spicy tuna had no spice. The wasabi was less than impressive. It's clear that they are adding extra rice in order to fill you up and was even implied by one of the staff members. This is the first AYCE sushi place in idaho falls! I went here with my husband and his coworker for lunch one day (They were in uniform) and they told us don't worry about the bill! Someone must have paid for us whether it be the owner or another customer. My husband felt bad and bought something anyway so he could leave a tip. I had the all you can eat lunch which was pretty good except for all the rules and regulations on the all you can eat program. I asked for soup and salad and two rolls. I finished all but three slices of the second roll and I wanted to take them home with me but she said they had to take them and throw them out. I can understand the abuse that some of these places get with people coming in to steal food but that was a little ridiculous to throw away three pieces instead of letting me just take them. It was kind of hard for me to relax knowing that there was many eyes on me and my conduct as I ate! The good news is the value for how much you pay is a very good deal! read more

My son and I went here for the first time on 6/15 for lunch. I read all the reviews and was hopeful but also a little sceptical because of the bad ones. I didn't find the inside too dark as some have said. I think it's because the menus are on a black background that makes it seem that way. The decor was nice and modern and it was clean inside. The sushi bar itself is large and we'll appointed. I understand people being upset about their "no waste" policy, however; I found it well explained on the menu and by our server. I do think that for your last roll they shouldn't charge for that as long as you at some of it, but that's just my opinion. They have relaxed the rules a bit I believe so that's good. Our server was attentive and we never waited more that a minute for our next order. She always asked before we finished what we had. The sushi was fresh and very flavorfull. I preferred the specialty rolls over the normal ones where as my son was the opposite. The presentation was beautiful and we never had a bad roll of the 7-8 we had. We even tried our first fried rolls which was excellent but I could see those filling you up very quickly. I shared a few pictures of our rolls and what they were. All in all a fantastic meal and I can't wait to go back, better than any other sushi I've had here, and leagues better than what they serve at Blue Hashi. read more

The customer service from the sushi chef Mark is the best! The waitresses could be a little more attentive and the avocado wasn't as fresh as I wanted but the All You Can Eat price is undeniable. We were 3 rolls in al a carte so why not just go for AYCE. Mark hooked us up with some secret stuff to try and really made it worth it. The menu is quite large for this place only being open for a short time and I can't wait to see how it expands and what kind of great seasonal fish they get in. Bonus points for great music and I love the blue walls/overall atmosphere here. Forget all other sushi restaurants in this area, this is where you should come. read more

There are only a few places in town to get sushi I would place this one toward the top. I enjoyed my meal with the two rolls I ordered. Good flavor and presentation. I feel like 3 stars is generous but 2 is a little stingy... we did the ayce. the service was fine. The sushi ranged from not great to just okay, but you come for the quantity not the quality. Well if that's your aim I'd suggest coming right when it opens and not on a weekend. When we first got there our first order came out quick, but as soon as the dinner rush came in the wait time went up to like 45+ minutes. When our last order finally did come out we weren't really hungry anymore but we didn't want to pay for two extra rolls, so we plowed through the last of the mediocre sushi. If you want to fill up on sushi, this is the cheapest place in IF to do it. I'd avoid anything fried, they're fried stuff has a weird kinda burnt greasy crunch to it. When they first opened the sushi was excellent, flavorful, very well proportioned with fish and rice. However, the last three times I've been there the rolls have been stacked with a lot more rice and less fish very disporportioned! Based on the rolls the place should be called "RICE TIME". The service for the most part has been very good, yet the flavor and taste of the rolls have definitely been worse because it's so drowned out by rice and little fish. I went in to eat with my mom just a couple days ago. I WAS DISGUSTED. Most of the waitress were either not wearing mask or wearing them improperly, they are not distancing any tables and it was FULL in there. They didn't seem to be following any of the state COVID regulations. I even saw a sushi chef drop his knife, pick it up, and reuse it as is. If you WANT to get Covid this is the perfect place! It's our first time going to a all you can eat sushi place in Idaho. Expectations werent as high. Sitting in front of the chef was a blast because you could order right away. Our chef was Josh and he asked what we would like to start off for appetizers. We ordered miso soup and some edamame. They were really good and it left me a good impression right there that the food was gonna be quite ok. We ordered salmon rolls, fifth avenue (fifth Element maybe), and some rolls. They came and they looked as delicious as it would be from a authentic Japanese restaurant. We tried the first roll, and they definitely worth the time and money for us driving from Rexburg. Their sushi are really good and fish-rice proportion is perfect! I like them just as petite and the sushi rice was almost the best. So, we ordered more and we tried the "full house" and "samurai". They taste phenomenal! We had rounds and rounds of suhsi and they were so good!! Also, remember to try their "final fantasy" and mango ice cream:) read more

I have been to quite a few sushi restaurants and I've never had such a poor experience. We just stopped in for a couple cheap small rolls and they couldn't even get those right. We had to send back a spicy California roll three times because they couldn't get it right. It only has like three ingredients. How do you get that wrong once, much less three times. I won't ever return. I should've known it wouldn't be any good when I walked in and there were three white guys behind the counter and half the time it looked like they were playing on their phones. The quality of the fish has gone down, the amount of rice in the rolls has gotten bigger, and the service has become non-existent. The most recent time I went, I found bones in the salmon! Went to Sushi Time on Saturday, the food was good and it was a good value. The way it is managed leaves a lot to be desired. The waiting area is very strange, the hostess seats you and then forget's you are there. The menu is vague in telling what's included in the AYCE. And if you don't finish a roll that you ordered you pay extra, what if you just don't like it. We ordered 3 rolls, and one of them was wrong the first waiter said they could get me the one I ordered, but I would have to eat the one they made wrong or I would have to pay for it, so I asked for the paper I had to fill out to order and they said they lost it. Finally I got the right food and and they took the roll I didn't order away. Also you need to get there early because for lunch they are open from 11 - 2:30, we got there at 1:30 and didn't get seated until 1:50 then waited to order and waited for our food, we got our roll's at 2:10 at 2:15 they took last call like I was at a bar at closing time, we couldn't order any thing else even though it was AYCE. The price of the all you can eat wasn't that great but the worst part was the fee you would be charged if you didn't eat all your food and you can't take it home either! Oh my gosh. The food is great. The cooks are great. The waiters are embarrassingly bad. We got there at 630 and left at 830. They were so slow and they did not even care and DIDNT EVEN OWN UP TO IT. We ordered some sushi and we were waiting 30 minutes before the waiter checked up on us. When he did, he said he'd check on the order. He came back 15 minutes later and asked if we got it yet. Another 15 minutes later he came back and said that HE FORGOT TO PUT IN THE ORDER. No apology. I asked for a discount and he ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME AND WALKED AWAY and said he'd get his boss. His boss came after another 10 minutes of waiting and was nice, he gave us a discount and while we were talking to him, someone else FROM ANOTHER TABLE said they were having the same problem. Loved it!! We went for the all you can eat lunch on a Friday and it was great. The service was super fast and food came out just a couple minutes after putting a new order in each time. The sushi was much better than any other sushi I've had in Idaho and we loved the unique roll recipes. The all you can eat is a steal of a deal. We ate SO MUCH. We ate around 1 and I didn't eat a single thing until the next morning because I stuffed myself so much. So glad there's finally an all you can eat sushi place. We have eaten here quite a few times, and each time, the quality of food is a hit and miss. Sometimes it's pretty decent (for all you can eat), and sometimes it's mediocre. The last couple times we have come, it's been mediocre. We usually don't have good service either, but we go because we like sushi & the idea of all you can eat. Yesterday was probably our last time going. It was even lower than mediocre. Not only was the service bad, but everything we got was terrible. The crystal shrimp, which is in a lot of cooked rolls, was cold, hard and chewy. Not the way battered fresh fish is suppose to taste. It tasted like it had been refrigerated after being made, and it just made the rolls taste terrible. We brought this to their attention, and they claimed it was just "overcooked", and they would sub it for tempura shrimp. Same exact issue with the tempura shrimp. I'm not sure if Sundays are the days you get refrigerated left overs due to the lack of people coming in, but it made every roll taste awful. The appetizers we got were also not good. & I would also like to add that all of our rolls were loaded with rice. It was difficult to taste most of the fish. We were very disappointed from everything this restaurant had to offer yesterday, especially spending a big chunk of money. Save your time, money, and taste buds, and head to Fuji's. read more
