    Chicken Fried Rice

This place is becoming one of my go to places in Metairie for sushi. The inside is small and intimate and the staff is very pleasant. The food is really good and very affordable if you're looking for something good and cheap. I can't wait to find time to try out their AYCE option. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

My friend and I did the All You Can Eat lunch special at Sushi Village and it was really great! The AYCE menu has appetizers (such as different kinds of tempuras, miso soup, salads), a variety of different roles, and several desserts all for just $17.95 without tax included. Additionally, you can do AYCE any time of the week including weekends! We tried a variety of the different rolls including their shrimp tempura, dragon roll, kuchi special, and pink lady. In addition to that, we had the miso soup, house salad, and edamame as our appetizers. For dessert, we chose to eat green tea ice cream and the fried banana which was a unique item on this AYCE menu. For this great price, the sushi was pretty fresh and we had a pretty large variety of different things that we could try on the menu. The service was also great and they kept checking if we would like more. One tip to keep in mind is that the rolls come in two sets of four. We chose a large number of rolls in the beginning and we didn't realize how much food it would be for our first round. Nevertheless, we managed to finish everything!

Looking for good quality sushi that's also AYCE (all you can eat)? Then, you need to check out Sushi Village. We started our meal with the miso soup and an assortment of tempura and dumplings. And, really enjoyed these. The batter was light and crispy despite being fried in oil. The crab tempura was the best one--it's natural sweetness really shined through this dish. For our mains, we went all in on the sashimi (no rice): red snapper, albacore, peppered salmon, crab, eel, red clam and tobiko. Don't skip the albacore and peppered salmon. The red snapper wasn't bad it's just a tougher bite which isn't unusual for this type of fish. For sushi (with rice) we ordered the spicy salmon and eel. We also ordered a couple of rolls and hand rolls: Kuchi Special, Golden Roll, the sweet potato hand roll, spicy tuna hand roll, spicy salmon hand roll and the shrimp tempura with avocado hand roll. Unfortunately, my search for hand rolls still continues. It doesn't stack up to the hand rolls we've had in other cities. Don't forget to save room for the green tea and red bean ice cream. The texture was creamy and not icy. You can really taste the red bean and green tea flavor. Btw, you can also opt to dine a la carte instead. They've got a good influx of to-go orders which to me, is always a good sign. No frills, nothing fancy. We've never had a bad meal here.

My least favorite sushi in Metairie. If you're looking for quality fresh food, I do not recommend this restaurant. However, if you are looking for cheap eats, you will get them here.

I stopped into Sushi Village for lunch today and am torn about my visit. It's a small place in a strip mall located at the corner of Severn and West Esplanade. Convenient Metairie location. Definitely a plus. I was greeted warmly right away, and told to sit wherever I'd like. I chose a 2 top and took a load off. As small as this place was, there were several available tables. It was sort of quiet, which was nice. The waitress came over as soon as I was seated, took my drink order, and gave me my menus. There is a lunch menu, which was exactly what I was looking for, and there was a full menu. I ordered the lunch roll combo and was able to substitute clear soup for the miso without an issue. The server was wonderful. Very sweet and on task. I received my soup and am happy to report that it was tasty. Maybe only 3 noodles and 4 mushroom pieces, but lots of flavor. My rolls arrived and were ok. Their crunchy rolls are made with spicy snowcrab. Not what I was expecting and I'm really on the fence. The snow crab rolls were fine. I hate the way that sounds, but that's how I felt about them. I ate them. The check came as soon as pushed my plate away, and was taken care of quickly. I used the restroom before I left and it was pretty bad. Not clean and no towels in the dispenser. There was a roll of paper towels on a chair in the corner with one towel left. The one with the glue. You all know what I mean. That last towel that you really need so you're going to use it. Overall, it was a blah meal, but not awful by any means.

I really like this little place; the food is good and fresh, the staff is awesome and always willing to try something new, and they go out of their way to make sure your meal is satisfying. The crab egg rolls are served warm with a sweet chili sauce and taste of warm, pungent garlic. All of our rolls were delicious, too. We had the eel avocado and the California roll, along with the Flying Dragon specialty roll. There was plenty of food to share with my daughter and we both left full and happy. Oh! The ginger dressing on the house salad is good enough to drink from the little side cup, ha!

I've been here 3 times before and I've been always satisfied with the service and the food. I'm not a sushi expert and I like "non traditional "sushi so this place has a lot of goodies that fall in this category . I've had the rock and roll and running men, both delicious. The hand rolls are super simple and small,so dont think you will get a "normal sized" sushi..just look at the price (5ish us). The specialty rolls are huge. What you see on the Ingredients is what you get and you can taste them,if there is avocado you will have a taste of it, the panko everything is always delicious and well done,so if you like that in your sushi,go for it. The deadly Hollows is amazing, one of the best for sure. The SQUID salad is delicious but they are serving way less than my first time here almost a year ago. . Clean space, fast service . They have all you can eat sushi,BOGO specials and beers happy hours. . The deep fried oreos are also good. . The teriyaki plates have a lot of food, nothing too special. . Great prices : 2 specialty rolls and squid salad app :29us

I don't know why this place is only a 3.5! I honestly think this is some of the best sushi in NOLA because of the service, specialty rolls, and happy hour (BOGO rolls from 3-6 -- unbeatable). I always have the same waitress when I come here with my friends, and she is just the best. She knows what we like at this point and is really kind. If you don't know what to order, go for the FAT J ROLL. It is the best roll on the menu and is simply TO DIE FOR. It's wrapped in pink soy paper and filled with all sorts of deliciousness: shrimp tempura and surimi salad to name a few. The running man roll and New Orleans roll are other favorites. For the price, size, and speed, I don't think you can beat it! I would happily drive from my place uptown to Sushi Village on Severn to get their food because it is just that good. You won't be disappointed.

This place is quick and convenient for lunch with the prices being a little cheaper for special rolls in general. The sushi's good, but nothing great. I had the joe's roll which had fried banana tempura on top which was very interesting and then a basic crunchy roll. I like that you can choose whatever sauces you want to go and the staff was nice. Just very quick if you want sushi. Food was ready within minutes. Restaurant is kinda dark inside even if it's a beautiful day, you would have no idea sitting inside.

My friends and I went to this spot to try their Happy Hour sushi deals, and boy, did they not disappoint. The deal is Buy 1 Roll Get Another Free from 3-6, and between the three of us, 18 dollars each got us 64 pieces of sushi. The service was excellent, with the food coming out in a timely manner and very gracious hosts waiting us, and the ambience of the locale was warm and comforting. Best of all, the sushi was excellent, and we all stuffed ourselves. I cannot recommend this place enough, and for the price, quantity, and quality, the Happy Hour at this place has got to be one of the best deals in the city.

I ordered from the "all you can eat" portion of the menu (which is a pretty large variety to choose from, and is not limited to just sushi). You pay one price for an adult ($33.99 on a Sunday), and can order as many items and servings as you'd like, from the aforementioned menu. In my opinion, this was a great deal, especially for the quality and quickness of the food! Because of the above, I was able to try 5 different types of sushi rolls (you can choose either 4 pieces, or 8 pieces), and I'd recommend 4 pieces so you could try just about any/everything. There are also photos on the menu to help you decide, if you're a visual person. Here's what I had: Edamame (the Cajun + garlic seasoned version, which was $1 more) - it was properly seasoned and super good! The gyozo/dumplings were good too; I'd recommend ordering a side of teriyaki sauce, as it only comes with a peanut-type sauce. The shrimp fried rice was also pretty good, and comes in a smaller portion. As for the sushi rolls, they were all delicious, but I'll rank them in order of my favorite (all of them were speciality rolls) #1 Kiss Me roll - it was so good (the best sushi roll out of all 5 I tried) that I forgot to take a photo! This one comes in pieces of 5, and the pieces are even thicker/bigger than the other rolls. #2 Fleur-di-lis sushi roll - loved the shredded crab meat that was layered across the top. #3 Godzilla sushi roll - loved the shrimp tempura within, and the sauce that was drizzled on top. #4 Lion King sushi roll - this was pretty good as well, and had the perfect amount of sauce layered across the top. #5 Spider sushi roll - another good one, and the avocado definitely stood out the most (if you're a big fan of it).

I'm happy they had sashimi options because their nigiri is pretty heavy on the rice, but the salmon cheese was by far our favorite. My favorite sashimi was yellow tail. The scallop was interesting looking but still tasted like scallop. I really liked the fried calamari too. Too bad it was no meat Friday because I wanted to try the karaage. I wouldn't get the salmon skin again, maybe if it were crispier. Fried rice has a little sweetness overall good and standard for fried rice Stir fry udon was pretty typical tasting as well Soft drinks included in AYCE. Pretty decent price for AYCE.
