Truth be told, the negative reviews floating online feel super mixed--half of 'em are just overblown, y'know? Yeah, you do wait a bit for your food, no lie, but the eats are solid, the staff's so nice, and the prices are totally reasonable. I went for their all-you-can-eat deal, and asked the lady working the floor if it'd be okay to let my kid sneak a couple bites off my plate. She was so chill about it, just said no problem as long as it's only two or three pieces, no big deal. At the end of the meal, I still had two plain maki rolls left on my plate 'cause I was so stuffed I couldn't cram another bite. Hated to let perfectly good food go to waste, so I asked if I could box 'em up to take home. She paused for a sec to think it over, then said sure--just a tiny $5 fee, that's all. I was over the moon! You never get to do that at most other AYCE spots, right? You can get three rolls for just a few bucks more. I have only gotten food to go, but the staff is always really nice. My friend and I did the All You Can Eat lunch special at Sushi Village and it was really great! The AYCE menu has appetizers (such as different kinds of tempuras, miso soup, salads), a variety of different roles, and several desserts all for just $17.95 without tax included. Additionally, you can do AYCE any time of the week including weekends! We tried a variety of the different rolls including their shrimp tempura, dragon roll, kuchi special, and pink lady. In addition to that, we had the miso soup, house salad, and edamame as our appetizers. For dessert, we chose to eat green tea ice cream and the fried banana which was a unique item on this AYCE menu. For this great price, the sushi was pretty fresh and we had a pretty large variety of different things that we could try on the menu. The service was also great and they kept checking if we would like more. One tip to keep in mind is that the rolls come in two sets of four. We chose a large number of rolls in the beginning and we didn't realize how much food it would be for our first round. Nevertheless, we managed to finish everything! read more

Looking for good quality sushi that's also AYCE (all you can eat)? Then, you need to check out Sushi Village. We started our meal with the miso soup and an assortment of tempura and dumplings. And, really enjoyed these. The batter was light and crispy despite being fried in oil. The crab tempura was the best one--it's natural sweetness really shined through this dish. For our mains, we went all in on the sashimi (no rice): red snapper, albacore, peppered salmon, crab, eel, red clam and tobiko. Don't skip the albacore and peppered salmon. The red snapper wasn't bad it's just a tougher bite which isn't unusual for this type of fish. For sushi (with rice) we ordered the spicy salmon and eel. We also ordered a couple of rolls and hand rolls: Kuchi Special, Golden Roll, the sweet potato hand roll, spicy tuna hand roll, spicy salmon hand roll and the shrimp tempura with avocado hand roll. Unfortunately, my search for hand rolls still continues. It doesn't stack up to the hand rolls we've had in other cities. Don't forget to save room for the green tea and red bean ice cream. The texture was creamy and not icy. You can really taste the red bean and green tea flavor. Btw, you can also opt to dine a la carte instead. It was sort of quiet, which was nice. The waitress came over as soon as I was seated, took my drink order, and gave me my menus. There is a lunch menu, which was exactly what I was looking for, and there was a full menu. I ordered the lunch roll combo and was able to substitute clear soup for the miso without an issue. The server was wonderful. Very sweet and on task. I received my soup and am happy to report that it was tasty. Maybe only 3 noodles and 4 mushroom pieces, but lots of flavor. My rolls arrived and were ok. Their crunchy rolls are made with spicy snowcrab. Not what I was expecting and I'm really on the fence. The snow crab rolls were fine. I hate the way that sounds, but that's how I felt about them. I ate them. The check came as soon as pushed my plate away, and was taken care of quickly. I used the restroom before I left and it was pretty bad. Not clean and no towels in the dispenser. There was a roll of paper towels on a chair in the corner with one towel left. The one with the glue. You all know what I mean. That last towel that you really need so you're going to use it. Overall, it was a blah meal, but not awful by any means. read more

If you don't know what to order, go for the FAT J ROLL. It is the best roll on the menu and is simply TO DIE FOR. My friends and I went to this spot to try their Happy Hour sushi deals, and boy, did they not disappoint. The deal is Buy 1 Roll Get Another Free from 3-6, and between the three of us, 18 dollars each got us 64 pieces of sushi. The service was excellent, with the food coming out in a timely manner and very gracious hosts waiting us, and the ambience of the locale was warm and comforting. The noodles I ordered were okay. It's not something I want again. Too gingery for me personally but someone else might like that. What I did like was the soup (miso and clear soup) it was good and some of the best I've ever had. The clear soup I would mention didn't taste like clear soup but I liked the taste personally. The fried potstickers were good as well and I'd recommend that. I did find that they had a lot of interesting roll names and combinations. Maybe it's too much and that's why the sushi is subpar. I ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch, which came with a salad, miso soup, and fried rice. Of those, the only thing I finished was the salad but if you mess up iceberg lettuce and ginger dressing then you need not be in business. The chicken tasted like what I imagine the bottom of my boot would taste like. It did not have an iota of seasoning. The teriyaki sauce was barely there and was like brown water. Just plain bland. Luckily, I asked for a side of spicy mayo so I dipped it in that and it gave it some semblance of edibility. Then I just gave up on it altogether. The rice was bleh and I would've needed a whole bottle of soy sauce, as opposed to the 2 packets I put in it, to bring it to life. As for the miso soup, I ate two spoons of it and said no more. It also did not contain a granule of salt and just tasted....off. This was my first time having a bad miso soup. The one saving grace about all this is that I ordered a snow crab roll and it was fine. It'd be pretty hard to screw up snow crab, avocado, and rice. I was able to finish all of the sushi roll thankfully. That is the reason I bumped this review up to two stars. I am actually amazed that I saw reviews saying how good the food is here. Came back for a second visit today after having had a yummy meal here last year. Being from New York, I'm used to very quality sushi and tons of AYCE spots. Knowing that AYCE sushi usually provides average quality fish, I wasn't expecting to be blown away or anything. However, this visit was subpar. I arrived at 8:40 PM with one friend and we were seated right away. The server was extremely friendly and was always around when we needed something, so that was a plus. The food comes out quick! I noticed that some people said the service is slow, but that was not the case for either of my visits. Now onto the food. The hot food is a piece of cake for them. Every item (mostly) is just deep fried and incredibly difficult to mess up. The shumai and gyoza are yummy and the tempura is definitely worth getting. The sushi was very very meh. My first visit it was rather tasty. This time, not so much. The salmon sashimi tasted...off. The eel sashimi also, a bit off. The rolls were pretty solid. The crunchy in the rolls was stale which was a bummer because otherwise I would of considered them good enough to order again. Oh well, might stop by for some hot plates another time! read more

She was on her phone, sorting paper AYCE menus, or packing up to-go orders and chatting with the Uber Eats/Waitr drivers.. Anything but coming to the table and taking our damn paper orders. We would have had to be in there for four hours to eat the $50 worth that we paid for the experience. I had a California roll and a salmon & avocado roll, both of those with no rice. The rolls were the smallest in diameter of any rolls I've had EVER, and barely filled. I had paid $15 through Uber Eats and didn't expect my rolls to be microscopic. I order rolls without rice all the time and have never had an issue with the circumference being so tiny. I had to eat a second meal after I finished the rolls because I was still hungry. What a waste of money that could have been spent ordering better sushi from elsewhere. I had only chosen this place because of the advertised short delivery time. One of my favorite little hole in the wall sushi places. My to-go place to pig out on excellent food in large quantities. I mainly go there because of there "all you can eat" option which ive have yet to comr across from any other without being labelled a buffet. Its only 22.99 and is totally worth it if you bring a heavy appetite. Its 2 paper menus with options to check off and when youve eaten everything from that "round" they send you more papers. So awesome! I love there rolls and seaweed salad! Especially the spicy one! This place can get packed at night with only one hardworking waitress that handles it quickly & is very outgoing. I always order alot of sashimi and quite a few orders of the larger rolls. If you love sushi, can eat alot of it, and think 25.00 is a good/great price...go for it. Its prepared fresh and its good to go. The place is quite small and the restroom was not operational at my last visit. I ordered sashimi and was brought sushi (with rice) twice. When I came in with a friend, who I had come in with in the past, we were immediately greeted with kindness and questions of where we had been. I don't remember the waitresses name, I suck at remembering anyones name. They more than likely didn't remember my name. And that is all right. This is in a strip mall at the corner of Severn and West Esplanade with plenty of parking. I have never had bad service here, nor have I had any bad food here. They do have an all you can eat sushi deal that is quite good. The restaurant is neat and clean. The restrooms are also neat and clean. This is your average little hole in the wall sushi place, and only one of the waitresses that has been there the 3 times I have been here speaks English it seems. Now that's not a bad thing, I applaud you for working in another country without your native language, but it might seem a bit daunting/difficult for first time visitors to Sushi Village. It's set back off Severn and I only find it because I look for the cvs/Walgreens on the corner of the strip mall it's in (near taqueria corona if that helps)? Anyways, I had a Groupon so I went this past time and we just got a bunch of maki rolls because the all-you-can-eat sushi was not a part of that. They were decent. Tasted fresh, but they fell a part a bit because you could tell they were made in haste and the seaweed hadn't fully stuck together yet. In their defense they had ONE chef working for at least 30 people (most of whom ordered the AYCE which I will get to in a second). Side note: get the spicy seaweed salad, it's amazing. Seaweed salad, plus spicy mayo, crabstick, cucumber, and crunchy on top and it's only like $4.50. The prices are AMAZING here like around $9-13 for elaborate rolls and like $4 average for the basic veggie, cali, philly, boston, eel type rolls. They even have a maki special for $12 that includes 3 basic rolls of your choice, miso, and house salad (WORTH IT)!!! Anyways, I've had the AYCE sushi here before and I highly recommend it. Unlike the other buffets in the area, it's not food sitting out on the counter for hours and God knows how many people put their grubby hands and germs in it. They bring you a piece of paper and you check off the items on it that you want (both sushi/sashimi and kitchen items) and when you are done they bring you another piece of paper to check off more items... That way you order what you can eat AND it's freshly prepared (and you can taste the difference) and you don't have to worry about the germs. So, despite the 3 stars, I still adore this place and it's one of my favorite sushi restaurants to go in the area, especially if I'm feeling the need for a sushi binge! read more

It's called an appetizer but it comes as a normal size bowl that filled me up pretty well . I also ordered the spicy salmon roll which was delicious. They offer an all you can eat sushi option which was what my girlfriend ordered. They give you a really good quantity of sushi with each order but the rolls were much smaller than average. The place is a bit small not really meant for big crowds, but will fit the average family fine . They do have a small kids menu . Service was quick and very nice for a little restaurant.
