This is a well-decorated Asian restaurant with great service, and quick cooking preparations. The establishment itself is pretty large, and has separate dining rooms, in the event you reserve for a special/private event. I ordered from the "all you can eat" portion of the menu (which is a pretty large variety to choose from, and is not limited to just sushi). You pay one price for an adult ($33.99 on a Sunday), and can order as many items and servings as you'd like, from the aforementioned menu. In my opinion, this was a great deal, especially for the quality and quickness of the food! Because of the above, I was able to try 5 different types of sushi rolls (you can choose either 4 pieces, or 8 pieces), and I'd recommend 4 pieces so you could try just about any/everything. There are also photos on the menu to help you decide, if you're a visual person. Here's what I had: Edamame (the Cajun + garlic seasoned version, which was $1 more) - it was properly seasoned and super good! The gyozo/dumplings were good too; I'd recommend ordering a side of teriyaki sauce, as it only comes with a peanut-type sauce. The shrimp fried rice was also pretty good, and comes in a smaller portion. As for the sushi rolls, they were all delicious, but I'll rank them in order of my favorite (all of them were speciality rolls) #1 Kiss Me roll - it was so good (the best sushi roll out of all 5 I tried) that I forgot to take a photo! This one comes in pieces of 5, and the pieces are even thicker/bigger than the other rolls. #2 Fleur-di-lis sushi roll - loved the shredded crab meat that was layered across the top. #3 Godzilla sushi roll - loved the shrimp tempura within, and the sauce that was drizzled on top. #4 Lion King sushi roll - this was pretty good as well, and had the perfect amount of sauce layered across the top. #5 Spider sushi roll - another good one, and the avocado definitely stood out the most (if you're a big fan of it). read more

I'm happy they had sashimi options because their nigiri is pretty heavy on the rice, but the salmon cheese was by far our favorite. My favorite sashimi was yellow tail. The scallop was interesting looking but still tasted like scallop. I really liked the fried calamari too. Too bad it was no meat Friday because I wanted to try the karaage. I really love coming here for lunch! The lunch buffet is very reasonably priced, and honestly, the food is so savory and delicious that it's worth every penny. The Miso Soup is a personal favorite, and the teriyaki protein options are phenomenal. I love how simple and clean the teriyaki flavors are; it makes the dish taste high-quality and consistent every time I visit. It's not often I can offer my highest praise to an all you can eat restaurant but Sushi Nami is simply AWESOME! Each dish is prepared by artisans that see to it that each dish looks like artwork. I have had many great meals there and they are happy to keep the dishes coming until you are satisfied. I've had meals at nobu and local sushi places that run 5X the price of Sushi Nami but truly, the difference is negligible. All of the sushi is not that great and some of the other menu items, like the fried rice, gyoza, and fried scallop, aren't really good at all. Walking in made me think of something in Vegas/so festive! When we arrived it wasnt busy at all but there was a party in the event room across the way. Our waitress Lacy was super sweet and made sure we understood exactly how the AYCE situation worked. The options were great and although some things took longer because of the party-the waitress was very apologetic & made sure to check on things that seemed to be taking too long. We went there for a party and had the all you can eat! Not sure I needed the all you can eat since the rolls are a very healthy portion. We went back again and order a la carte, again with good results ( although I did not like the steamed shumai this time). The drinks were tasty and the overall presentation was nice. As for the ambiance I love the size of the restaurant. The space can easily acomódate large parties but is equally good if you just go on a date. All staff is well trained and attentive. So I'll recommend this place as my second favorite sushi in Metaire, and will come back next time I get together with my large family or friends for Sushi. Service was also very nice and helpful with us the entire time. We got their All You Can Eat Dinner option ($33.99 per person) where you can call as many things from the AYCE menu as you want within a span of 2 hours. You also get free refills on soda, tea, & water. The quality of the food was delicious! I was worried that the seafood wouldn't be fresh since it's AYCE but I was thankfully wrong about that thought. For 2 people dining with the AYCE Dinner option (with tax), it totaled up to $74.22. Price wise, I'd say it's well worth trying if you're a big sushi/sashimi person. The whole entrance and the staircase are adorned in cherry blossoms, there's also a massive wall art of a Geisha. We had to wait 40 minutes for a table. In the meantime we had some drinks at the bar. Sushi Nami is pretty big. There are cherry blossoms across the ceiling. Their menu is broad, offering an illustration of every item. You can also have the Al a Carte menu, which are individually priced items. The cost per person for all you can eat sushi is $33.99. At Sushi Nami your first drink, whether it's Saki, house wine or beer, are included with the all you can eat menu. We first started with soup and the seaweed salad. Each of the rolls of sushi arrived on its own serving dish. With the exception of the Bugs Bunny roll, which was essentially all lettuce, all of the rolls were excellent. The waiter had to come over and ask us what had come out and then it seemed like he was putting it in again. We ordered a Lychee Martini as well as a Pina Colada Coconut type drink and they were both delicious! The decor was very cute and the space was nice, vibrant, and clean.
