Great indoor and outdoor seating. Children entree was large. Enjoyed sushi and soups. Miso and wonton were tasty. Nice staff. Warm atmosphere.

I tried this place before trying the other location. I was blown away on how beautiful the place was. I loved the feeling of fine dining it had. The food was so delicious. I REALLY REALLY. recommend the salmon belly with special sauce. (I think it's chili oil) but it is so delicious we had to order it again. I also ordered the sushi burrito and it was BOMB the sauces they provide were delicious. The service was amazing I had a pleasant experience with our server. Really recommend coming before 5 since after 5 there is A LOT of tables that come in. Definitely will come here again if I visit Florida.

Our absolute favorite go to restaurant. The sushi is so fresh. Highly recommend! Each time we come back the food keeps getting better and better!

One of my favorite sushi spots to date, I take everyone that I know who enjoys sushi here. It's never too packed here, so I can always find a table. Every time I have come here I have to get something different, there is no shortage of good food. The atmosphere is nicely decorated with plants and sake bottles along the windows, LEDs along the bar, along with live music every now and then. If you love sushi, I recommend coming here.

Dishonest and Fraudulent--Check Your Receipts! I have been to Sushi Yama in the past (over five years ago) and was disappointed by the low-quality sushi. However, after hearing that the quality had improved, I gave them another chance. To my surprise, the food was better on my recent visits, but my latest experience completely ruined any reason to return. On my most recent visit, the service was abysmal. Our waitress (Asian woman with a round face who works there almost daily) ignored us for nearly 45 minutes without bringing our drinks, never checked in to see if we were satisfied, and left us sitting in the heat with no refills. Our plates were stacked on the table for so long that bugs started attacking us, and we had to wait an excessive amount of time for sauces that should have come with the meal--by the time they arrived, our food had already gone cold. Despite this, I still left a tip, albeit a modest one, as tipping is based on service quality. I wrote $5.53 on my receipt--a direct reflection of the poor service received. However, upon reviewing my bank statement, I was shocked to find that I had been charged $100 instead of $90. I immediately called the restaurant, and the person who answered took my information, saying the owner would call me back. That never happened. So, I went in person to speak with the owner. After explaining the situation, the owner claimed it was probably a "mistake" and would look into it. The next day, I received a photo of my receipt, which had been CLEARLY FORGED--the waitress had added a "1" in front of my $5.53 tip, turning it into $15.53 and inflating the total to $100. When I confronted the restaurant about this blatant fraud, the manager only offered to refund the extra tip portion in cash--which I declined. I demanded that the full $100 be refunded, or I would dispute the charge with my bank. At this point, the manager became condescending and dismissive, arguing: * "Is it fair that you ate the food and now want a full refund?" (Fair? Your staff committed credit card fraud--this isn't about fairness, it's about theft.) * "If you can't forgive in life, then life will be hard for you." (This isn't a moral dilemma; it's a legal issue.) * She insisted that 'Asian people don't steal' and that 'if you do good, you receive good, and if you do bad, you receive bad.' (If that's the case, then bad service should receive a bad tip--not an altered one!) * She even justified the fraud by saying the waitress' mother has stage 5 cancer and she probably needed the money. (That's heartbreaking, but it doesn't excuse stealing from customers.) The worst part? Instead of taking accountability, they tried to guilt-trip me into accepting it as a "mistake" and completely dismissed the fact that their employee was caught committing fraud. If this happened to me, I guarantee I am not the only victim. If you dine here, check your bank statements and ALWAYS take a picture of your receipt. This restaurant allows theft from customers and refuses to acknowledge the seriousness of credit card fraud. I have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and NEVER have I seen or even considered forging a tip. Tips are earned, not stolen. But at Sushi Yama, if your server isn't happy with what you left, they'll just give themselves more. This restaurant has lost my business forever, and I urge others to be extremely cautious--if you eat here, protect yourself, check your receipts, and watch your bank statements carefully. Absolutely disgraceful business practices. Attached is the photos of the receipt you can zoom in to see how creative the server was in adding a "1" to the tip so here's your 1 that you so desperately needed you get "1 STAR"!!! I wish I could give 0 stars for FRAUD!

A really beautiful Asian restaurant that is part of a small local chain. located in the Canyon lakes shopping center. Really nice and extensive Asian menu. I chose the Deluxe Sashimi, combination of fresh raw fish with conch and octopus with a choice of soup or salad Fresh and very good. Can't wait to return and try some of their other food.

A lovely restaurant offering a wide variety of sushi rolls artistically displayed. We first had hot saki and spicy margarita yum! We had the most delicious soup- Tom Kha Gai Witches chicken, mushrooms, lime juice, lemongrass and coconut milk. We've been ordered three signature rolls which were the Daimyo Maki which is tuna salmon yellowtail avocado asparagus scallion and Roe. Futomaki roll Large roll with crab Tamargo Campillo spinach cucumber asparagus and Roe and Kastle the Black dragon roll which is spicy Hamachi salmon asparagus avocado scallion and Roe topped with Grill eel. They were gorgeous and delicious. What more can we ask for? There were several TVs surrounding the restaurant offering a variety of different shows and sports. This is definitely a place we would come back to.

Beautiful interior and decent service but food doesn't seem as good as Boca location. Sashimi platter was meager with extremely thin fish slices and not particularly tasty. Great location and convenient to West Boynton. Only game in town?!

Our waiter pointed out the wahoo ceviche, salmon, tuna, rolls... our friends enjoyed their noodle dishes that were plated beautifully with an edible flower. Unfortunately, no one came back to check on us or refill our water glasses. We weren't rushed, but we did have to ask for our check. Our meal was reasonable ; less than $30 per person, including tax & a Saturday tip.

Horrible experience celebrating my daughter's 10th birthday…read more When we arrived, I told the hostess it was her birthday and asked if they could bring a dessert and sing Happy Birthday. They assured me everything was taken care of. After we finished eating, our table was cleared and nothing happened. No dessert and no birthday moment. I had to go back to the hostess stand twice before someone finally came over. Eventually staff came to sing Happy Birthday, but there was still no dessert or candle for my daughter to blow out. When I spoke to the male manager, he became argumentative, talked over me, blamed me for the situation, and escalated the conversation instead of de-escalating it. Instead of helping, I felt like I had to defend myself while explaining what had happened. The female manager said it was normal for them to sing Happy Birthday without dessert first, and then bring dessert later so families can do the candle moment privately. In the end, they finally admitted there was confusion because they thought I had brought my own cake, even though I had already picked the dessert beforehand. There was no sincere apology. The only thing offered was "don't worry, we won't charge you for the dessert." But I was never looking for free food. I just wanted a memorable birthday moment for my daughter. My daughter only turns 10 once. What upset me most was that instead of helping fix the situation, the male manager escalated it to the point where I felt like I had to defend my point rather than being helped.

Our server Eugene was exceptional -- knowledgeable, warm, and full of incredible recommendations. We started with the seafood pancake and a chef's special smoked fish dish (I wish I'd caught the name!) whose presentation was absolutely stunning -- every element on the plate was intentional and edible, right down to the flowers. On Eugene's advice, we went all in on the grill: wagyu beef, two orders of pork belly, and the snowflake short rib. The snowflake short rib was the star of the show -- it melted like butter and was absolutely divine. The wagyu was delicious too, though a touch less buttery than the short rib. The pork belly held its own, especially paired with the Ssamjang dipping sauce (a fermented soybean paste and gochujang blend that's the perfect complement). We wrapped up the savory courses with garlic shrimp -- a great finishing touch. The banchan were all wonderful, and it's worth knowing you get three free refills while you're grilling, with additional refills available for a small charge. For dessert, we ordered their halo-halo-style treats in mango and red bean (again, I forgot the name -- but don't let that stop you!). They were delicious -- not overly sweet, with a satisfying texture from the mochi and shaved ice. We loved both, but the mango was my personal favorite. The space itself is beautiful, with plenty of grill tables and a generously sized bar for those who aren't coming to cook. The entire staff was welcoming and attentive throughout. Worth noting -- this business changed ownership about 18 months ago, and the difference is evident: it's exceptionally well-run and the quality of ingredients has been elevated to a whole new level. This is definitely a place to splurge and savor -- everything we had was perfection. If you're in the area or on the hunt for a truly delicious and authentic Korean BBQ experience, this is an absolute must-visit!

We started with Peach Soju, which was light, slightly sweet, very refreshing. The Kimchi Pancake was a great appetizer: crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with that tangy, slightly spicy kimchi flavor that makes it so addictive. For mains, the Beef Bibimbap was great especially during a cooler night. It's a rice bowl served on a sizzling bowl, topped with seasoned beef, vegetables, and egg, and once you mix everything together, you get a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and comforting flavors in every bite. The Soon Tofu Jigae came out hot and bubbling. It is a rich, warming stew made with soft silken tofu and a flavorful broth that's slightly spicy and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the Korean Steamed Egg, which was light, fluffy, and almost custard like. The Chicken Katsu rounded everything out nicely with a crispy breaded exterior and juicy chicken inside, served with a classic sweet-savory sauce. Banchan was included with the meal, which is always a plus. For anyone unfamiliar, banchan are traditional Korean side dishes (like seasoned or pickled vegetables) served with your food to be shared and enjoyed throughout the meal. The service was a little slow even though we were the only table there at the time. We ordered green teas, hamachi jalapeño app, and 4 rolls to try (green dragon, Hokkaido, sexy crunch, and sweet potato curry). The rolls were generously portioned (expect to pay $25-30 for specialty rolls), the visuals looked pretty decent (served on a small boat), but the flavors were on the bland side for me. The green tea was little too flavorful. The individual pieces of the rolls were little too big than what we were used to. The sushi rice was wet and there was too much rice used for the rolls. But maybe some customers who are used to this might prefer this style more than what I prefer personally. Out of the four rolls, in our opinion, the most unique one was the sweet potato curry roll. It's very different than the traditional rolls you will find at other sushi restaurants. Overall the experience wasn't bad. I might visit again next time just to make sure.
