    Mongolian Beef

While in Stowe, we stopped by one of our favorites--Sushi Yoshi. This wonderful Japanese restaurant offers both hibachi and traditional dining, and we opted for the traditional route. I ordered the Mongolian beef, crab rangoons, and Kani salad, and as usual, everything met my expectations, if not exceeded them. The Mongolian beef was absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It's a dish that stands out every time. Sushi Yoshi consistently delivers an outstanding experience. The food is always wonderful, the staff is friendly and quick, and the restaurant has such an amazing, welcoming vibe all around. Each visit reminds me why it's one of my go-to spots in Stowe. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Japanese cuisine in the area!

Shrimp tempura roll, shrimp lo mein

Cute spot for Japanese dinner in the middle of mountains! We ordered shrimp tempura rolls and shrimp lo mein. My friend was looking for pad thai and the server was nice enough to give us a heads up that the pad thai here will not be as good as other restaurants and suggested lo mein options, which was great! The roll and tempura shrimps seemed skinny and the serving size seemed small, but it was delicious!! The shrimp lo mein was delicious too! Since we don't drink, I asked for mocktails since they were not on the menu, and she got us a pineapple orange mocktail which was refreshing!

Sushi Yoshi is one of my regular restaurants in Stowe. I've been probably at least 15 times. TL;DR: food 3/5; service 1-5; ambiance 4/5 The age tofu is one of the best tofu dishes I've ever had. Absolutely amazing. The tempura batter is light and the tofu is perfectly cooked. However the tempura dipping sauce is NOT vegetarian. The shrimp tempura is also delicious. The fried rice is one of my normal go tos, but sometimes the shrimp is undercooked. I've also had the shrimp wok dish, which has large shrimp and is very good. The shrimp pad Thai is ok- not great. Service is a mixed bag. I've had more mediocre servers than good ones. Tonight's was a bad one

The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is the pricing. We had two orders of chicken teriyaki (which came with salad and soup), a volcano roll, moshi and two sodas and it was over $100. We did not like the salad dressing or the soup. The chicken teriyaki was good with lots of chicken and veggies. It had a side of white rice (not fried). Our waiter was very nice and on top of things. They had a lot of choices but our meal was a little pricy for me.

Excellent sushi, sashimi, appetizers. So good we're go every few weeks. We've never been disappointed. Bianca makes the visit extra special! Looking forward to our next visit. Maybe the notch will be open too!!

Seared Salmon Roll - the last piece!

So much fun! We hit up Sushi Yoshi today about 3:00 and magically hit the PERFECT time for our visit. We were seated right away in a quiet corner over looking the fire pit and couldn't have had a warmer welcome! The food was outstanding. For starters we tried the Yakitori, the Negimayaki, and the Ebi Shumai. All three were great but far and away the Yakitori was our all time favorite, especially when dipped in just a bit of the teriyaki sauce from the Negimayaki! We next quizzed our server, Shelby W, on the menu items. As sushi neophytes she was so so kind and helpful steering us toward dishes with a hint of adventure but could be handled with our baby sushi palates. To that end we tried the Seared Tuna Roll and the Spider Roll. Both were excellent - and we know we would have been happy with all of her recommendations which also included the Boston Roll and any of the Tempura Rolls. She was clear that most of the Japanese specializes from the back half of the menu were either fully raw or partially raw. Very good for these sushi newbies! We each tried one of the dinners. The Scallop Bamboo Steamer was exactly as advertised and an amazing steal. 10 large scallops, a huge amount of perfectly steamed veggies, a large bowl of white rice and dipping sauce. It will be lunch for the next two days! We also tried the Mongolian Beef which our 20 year old son refused to share because it was so good, and the Seafood Delight which my husband said was delicious. Reading through the reviews you'll hear comments about it being crowded, difficult to get a table, and noisy. That was not our experience - because we didn't go at a peak time (thanks Yelpers for the tip!) and we gave a lot of grace for staffing. You'll also hear it was expensive. While our bill was high for 3 people who didn't have any alcohol, we could have easily been in and out for less than $90 for the three of us, with food to spare but we chose to splurge! Give Sushi Yoshi a try, we will definitely be back.

Great food and service. A little pricey. Only negative was the annoying local drunks behind us.

I would not recommend this restaurant, food was bland and chef was not interactive with our group of six. Very disappointed.

Everything! From the food, to the staff, to the prices! Well staffed and the buffet is hot and new…read moredishes keep coming out! The desserts, the shrimp bar and the fruit is always fresh!!

What a pleasant surprise this was! I was coming to buy Girl Scout Cookies as they were being sold…read morethere yesterday (Friday) and I am a sucker for Girl Scouts as my nana spoiled me growing up and bought me boxes of Thin Mints whenever Girl Scout Cookie Season came around. Luckily, i was able to snag the last box of Thin Mints and a box of Trefoils, so I am not complaining. Since I was already at the location, I thought why not try the restaurant. I did not know what to expect and honestly I did not factor in that it was a buffet. Coming from Miami originally (though currently living in Saint Albans), I was lucky (no pun intended ^_^) to have had some really great buffets to experience in Miami, FL (ie. Kyojin in South Miami, Canton in Coral Gables, POC in Coral Gables) but I was craving Chinese food as I had not had any in so long. Lucky Buffet did not disappoint. They had sit down dining service as well as to go service. I am not sure if they deliver. If they did that would be amazing! But it was pretty busy which is always a good sign for a restaurant because it means they are doing good business and there is a demand for it. I ended up eating with my eyes and then my stomach because i filled 2 to go containers with a variety/assortment of foods like General Tso's chicken (my favorite), chicken & broccoli, crunchy and flavorful snap peas, crispy wonton noodles, very breaded/fluffy battered chicken tenders, and some vegetable fried rice that i doused in the General Tsao's sauce). I also got some of these Buttered scalloped potatoes which O-M-G were so darn good. They also had sliced onion mixed into the batch and no complaints there. It came out to a total of $38. There was a sign that said it was like $7.95 for pound of food and I figured I would splurge since I am not sure when I would be back there. I walk everywhere and in the cold, frigid temps, it's a bit cumbersome (and dangerous) to walk with food like that over icy sidewalks and slushy-muddy snow. I can't speak to what dining in would be like, but it seemed pretty decent. There was a steady flow of customers coming in and out which is always good to see. I also liked how they had fortune cookies sitting on display in the middle of the place for guests to take. I took about six lol I can't resist a good old fashioned fortune cookie:) If I ever happen to be walking by again, I would consider it again, but it is a lot of food. So you have to go on an empty stomach and also try not to over indulge or else you will have tummy issues. Chinese food is notorious for having MSG, but I am not sure if they use that there. I will say that they had a pretty decent dessert bar and ice cream selection. The people of Saint Albans are "lucky" to have this restaurant in their midsts. Also parking is pretty ample for those that have vehicles and the restaurant itself seemed pretty clean and well organized. If buffet items got low, they immediately would replenish them. The food was hot and ready to go. A plus was the little keychains being sold at the front at the counter. I had to get a Stitch one because I love the Stitch character. He's so cute ^_^ They also had a Spiderman one and Hello Kitty one so any fans of those characters would be pleasantly surprises and amused to see them being sold there once you check out and pay. Highly recommend this place.
