So I had been here before a long time ago for AYCE. This time however it wasn't. I'm not sure if I should've asked for that or if they took it away. Nonetheless the sushi was good ordered the baked baby lobster roll, firecracker roll and rainbow rolls. For appetizers we ordered the jalapeños bomb and assorted tempura. We really liked the baked lobster roll. It was the perfect blend of flavors. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and has a modern urban feel to it. We got seated towards the front of the restaurant by the window facing the street. The lighting was extremely dim up front and I found myself having to carefully read the menu up close. Personally I'm not a fan of very dim lit restaurants. Everything but the from of the restaurant had better lighting. Overall experience was good. Fast service! The sushi here was absolutely AMAZING. I haven't had sushi this good in a long time. The rolls are very generous in size, and you definitely get your money's worth. I ordered the Alaskan Roll, and the salmon on top was extremely fresh, thick-cut, and clearly high-quality fish. The service was just as great as the food. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. When we left, the entire staff thanked us, which really stood out and made the experience even better. We were craving sushi so decided to come try this restaurant on main st. We always pass by it, but haven't went inside. Oh boy, the food was delectable and great service! I ordered the sushi combo d that comes with one speciality roll (I chose baked baby lobster roll, my fav!). My friends got the bento boxes with salmon teriyaki, takoyaki, and shrimp tempura (didn't get to take pictures of their food since they were so hungry and munched it down so quick). There's a parking structure on 1st street behind Charlie's Trio or you can find street parking. It wasn't too busy when we came here during lunch time. In my opinion, this place is a better location and atmosphere than the sushi restaurant a few stores down. We must have brought the late lunch crowd with us because we were the only table when we walked in, but a few tables joined in after. The sushi is fresh, decent portion and their Tonkatsu from the Kitchen "menu' was good. Their Baked Rolls were good, but it did fall apart easily. I'd skip the Seafood Yaki Udon next time - it was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was a generous portion. Hoping they will bring back some more happy hour deals or their AYCE. I looked for some sushi in Alhambra and found this place on Yelp. I decided to try it out, and I am so glad I did! To be seated, you must show proof of your covid-19 vaccination. They accept a photo of your card from your phone as proof! The staff and cook greeted my friend and me with such friendliness! I love that welcoming energy. I came here for lunch the other day, and I ordered my usual Chirashi Bowl - sitting outside, of course. What came out was a bowl of cold rice and very slimy fish, both were clearly leftover from the day before. I don't ask for special treatment, I don't expect to be recognized, I don't demand more than I pay for, ...and I always leave a good tip. Came here on a tuesday night and we were instantly sat down. The servers were very nice and frequently looked at the tables to see when we were ready to order which was nice. Parking is in the lot across starbucks. The food was alright. I ordered the bento box and the miso soup tasted a bit watery while the beef itself had an interesting texture. The plus side is the portion. We noticed that the sushi rolls and portions are bigger in comparison to other sushi restaurants! We had a lot of leftovers afterwards. This place is a family favorite! Everyone loves the grilled mussels and always enjoy the sushi. We just never know which sushi will taste the best that day though. They have about 8 seats available outside and the rest inside. They do have lots of take out orders so there's usually a table available. We have 6 people and typically go around 6pm and able to get a table on the weekend. Service is great here... they are attentive and refill drinks promptly. I was actually on a date here, and my date had ordered a Kuni combo. He also waited 40 minutes for his food. After 40 minutes of waiting, we told a staff that we were going to leave because our food was taking too long. The staff then tried to get us to stay by giving us some free appetizers, but we refused to stay. The staff didn't even bring my table water until about 25 minutes later. That's sad. We also tried to flag someone down to ask them about our food, but they ignored us. Service is ridiculously slow. That's why I gave this place a one star. I ordered what I was gonna order the young lady that misinterprets my order and bringing something completely different. It's fine. I just roll with it but then my fiancé orders her food. She doesn't get her food for another 20 to 30 minutes later and I stopped eating completely because I've been waiting for her to come get her food so I've been just letting my food sit as well and so I have to ask the waiter the same girl what happened then the sushi appears at this point. We both lost our appetite and also we asked for a box to go from another waiter. They completely forgot about us asking for the boxes as well so honestly would i recommend this place I would not recommend this place anymore because ever since the name changed it seems like it's not the same ambience.
