Today me and my wife came into the restaurant and it was 230pm ...the kid that was at the register asked if he wanted to sit and eat at table or was the order to go, we replied we wanted to seat. The sushi chef (a lady) manager or whatever she was ...spoke to him in a foreign language, for sure it wasn't Vietnamese or I would have understood what she said to him but he turns to us and tell us that they are closing at 3pm and that we had to get the food to go. This is at 2:34 pm..I don't know if she had a problem with me being Asian and married to a Mexican woman or what her issue was...my wife ordered to go....but we will never be go back there again...I might just be dense but I just don't understand why we couldn't sit and eat with 26mins til 3pm...???? read more

I went to this restaurant on Sunday afternoon with my family after wanting to try a new sushi place. Great deal on sushi first off, you buy 3 special rolls and you save $24. My favorite was the Shrimp Crunch Roll. Have to say that all the special rolls we tried (shrimp crunch, rock'n roll, pretty women) were full of flavor and owned any sushi restaurant I have been too previously. The only inconvenience is the distance as it is about 10 minutes from exiting I-30. But if I were to hit up Rockwall, I would highly recommend for sushi fans. read more

I love this place! Great sushi at a great price. Everything is super fresh and presented beautifully! The environment is confusing as it feels like more of a take out/delivery place versus a restaurant. The staff is friendly and very helpful when it comes to ordering or asking for substitutions. Since coming here the first time it has now become a weekly spot for me. However, I do not recommend delivery. They gave me a time frame of 40 minutes and here it is over 60 minutes later. read more

I was visiting Rockwall for work and wanted sushi. You would not think that this would be good. It's in a little corner of a strip mall...but man o man...it was delicious. I ordered the bento box entree. Miso soup was piping hot and delicious. Shrimp tempura was perfectly cooked. The sushi pieces and California roll were on point. I kinda expected low quality fishiness, but instead this place rivals my favorite (very expensive) sushi restaurant at home. read more

This sushi is the best in Rockwall, by flavor and by price! I used to work in a sushi restaurant so I'm always a little wary of how the rolls and nigiri and sashimi will taste. Everything in the menu has a price that includes the tax, but the more special rolls you order, the more you save. I've tried pretty much every single special roll as well as the squid salad and cucumber salad, very good quality. Rolls are not something that should be rushed when making, especially those that may use tempura shrimp or eel, so you should try placing an order by phone and then picking it up. We have tried the place twice; ordered several items - the raw sushi isn't fresh-tasting. We ate one piece each and threw it away it was so bad. The spicy tuna was mushy and had an awful aftertaste. Hope we don't get sick. They use frozen, not fresh, edamame and steam it in the microwave. My husband saw this happen while waiting for order. read more

The sushi was excellent, especially for the price. We also liked that they are BYOB, so we brought our own wine. I think the ambience could be better with some nicer tables and menus that aren't a pamphlet for those dining in, but that isn't anything that would prevent us from going again. read more

It's really rare that I give a place 5 stars but sushi box deserves it. The food is incredible and the chef and staff merit that rating. Deep in mind, it's a small restaurant in a strip center. It is largely geared to take out and only had a few tables. You go to a counter to order. It is not a fancy, elegant restaurant. However, the sushi surpasses what I get in more elegant places, and for far less money. I have sushi about once a week and it is easily the best I have had in several months. I don't go to Rockwall often but when I do I'll make a point of visiting sushi box. read more

This place is great on the wallet and the fish is fresh, big cut, and delicious! Two nits that brought my rating down from 5 stars are: 1. Each specialty roll comes overflowing and DRIPPING with too much sauce! 2. The atmo feels more like a cheap Chinese takeout place. The second nit, not so big a deal, but the first is. My tongue is swollen from too much salty sauce and I could barely taste the fish and jalapeno...and most rolls have more than one sauce amplifying the problem. Overall a good experience. read more

I gave this place three tries hoping things would improve (there aren't a lot of great options in the area), but each time was disappointed. The sushi itself wasn't an issue, but the service here is HORRIFIC and the staff is completely apathetic. The first time, I called in my order, and upon arriving waited over 15 minutes longer than the quoted time for my food. They tried sending me off with the wrong order, but fortunately I checked the bag when I got to my car and noticed the issue. The second time, my husband picked up our takeout, and had the same experience - food wasn't ready until 15-20 minutes after the quoted time. Unfortunately, he didn't check the order, and made it home with two of our items and one that was unrecognizable. I called and spoke to a manager, and he offered to give us a credit for the amount of the item we were missing for a future order (not great, but we'll take it). He said just give them my name and number next time I come in. This past week I went in and attempted to utilize my credit, AND THEY CAN'T FIND IT. What's so frustrating is that it was $9, and they offered nothing to make it right, basically just said "here's your food, here's what you owe us." You would think that for $9, they would try to salvage a customer relationship, they clearly didn't give a flip. If I ever here that this place is under new ownership/management, I'd be open to giving it another try, but until then, they won't be getting any more of my business. read more

Decent sushi place. Not anything incredible, but it's good. It's definitely more suited for carry out than dine in, as there's only a handful of tables. It's priced well, cheaper than most other sushi places. I'd go back if I lived nearby or happened to be in that part of town for dinner, but there are better sushi places elsewhere. read more

This is probably one of the best local sushi spots in the Rowlett/ Rockwall area. Its not overpriced like the other places and you can get just of great quality sushi or even better. They always work with you on how to customize your rolls and the fish is always fresh. It's not somewhere to take a large group because it only has about five tables in the inside, a mini bar for about 5 people with an outside patio that accommodates about two tables as well. They have specials if you do a certain amount of rolls. You save a couple bucks. That's beside the point, overall everything is put well nicely even on the to-go orders. They even deliver! It doesn't compare to Kyoto's sushi. Now if you want Hibachi that's a different story. I definitely recommend Sushi box. The only reason that I can think of that they deserve four stars from me is because they have messed up twice on my to-go order. Other than that the food is excellent! read more
