    4 Sumo Crunch & 1 lava nachos
    Sandy Q.

Since I haven't had a sushi burrito from this place in a while, I thought I'll drop by after my doctor appt. While driving down University, I was lucky enough to find street parking just a block away. I ordered 4 Sumo Crunch and 1 lava nachos. The employees were quite friendly and they were smiling throughout the whole time I was there. In terms of flavor, it was just okay. Majority of the roll was filled with imitation crab meat and on the last bite of my burrito, I tasted something bitter coming from the cucumber. It felt like I was eating a huge CA roll. As for the lava nachos, it definitely lacked cheese.

Always been mid and that hasn't changed. Their Sumo Crunch is terribly unbalanced and is basically filled to the brim with imitation crab with no seasoning or mayo. They could probably get away with putting more imitation crab than other ingredients if they seasoned the crab a bit more...but in this case you were just stuffing down dry crab meat hoping that you could get a small bite of the one, skinny shrimp tempura that was included. On a somewhat more surprising note, the deep fried spam musubi was extremely enjoyable with good flavor and crunch. This I would actually consider getting again if I came back.

We had been wanting to try out Sushirrito for some time now, but unfortunately it really disappointed us. We got the Edamale, sumo crunch, and the deep fried spam musubi. The Edamale (the vegan and gluten free option) is admittedly not something that I would normally order, but due to dietary restrictions, that's what I went with this time. I tried to keep an open mind, but it was honestly quite bland and unremarkable as a whole. Not outright bad, but very forgettable. I did not like the texture at all as it all kind of just tasted like mush. The sumo crunch looks pretty good, but the texture and ingredients also disappointed. The red tempura flakes on the outside don't actually give it much crunch at all, and you expect some spice from them but it is again pretty bland. You also don't get very much shrimp tempura at all, which is pretty disappointing. The deep fried spam musubi is easily the best thing we ordered, and it's what keeps this review from being a 1 star. I loved the crunchy exterior on a classic spam musubi. If you go here I would recommend ordering this, BUT at the same time, a spam musubi shouldn't be the best menu item at a sushi burrito place.... The staff was friendly and helpful though. Overall I would personally not recommend Sushirrito, but I at least like and respect the idea of the unique and fresh ideas they have to offer. Frankly I think it fits in perfectly with most of the bland food scene in Palo Alto as a whole....

Introduction: - never had a sushiritto in my life. Thought it was interesting idea and came here to try it out with my cousins. Pros: - We had the satori sushiritto. It was delicious!! Fish was fresh and rich in fat. We combined the sushiritto with many different sauces chimichurri, kabayaki (chocolate soy sauce) , spicy mayo, diablo sauce, and many more. It gives it an interesting kick or depth of many flavors that work well with the fish. - it came out pretty quick and ready to go. Server took it out and delivered it to our table within like 5 minutes. - there are plenty of seats to sit down for a quick bite. There isn't any wait. Overall: - recommend this place for fish lovers and pescatarians.

Stopped by for a quick dinner and had a great experience. The food was delicious! I tried the Fiery Chicken Burrito, a unique fusion of sushi and burrito, and really enjoyed it. The lava nachos were tasty, though they weren't as spicy as advertised. The ambiance is simple, with just a few tables inside, so be prepared to take your food to go if it gets crowded. Service was quick and efficient.

This is a modern, clean fast food style sushi roll restaurant. They claim to be Japanese with a Latin flair. It was my first time trying a shushirrito. It's basically a seaweed wrapped hand roll. I tried one of their most popular items the Salmon Samba and it was very good. Several drivers came in to pick up orders, apparently for one of the services such as Uber eats. If you're dining in, you can just walk up to the counter to order it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Of note, cash is not accepted at this facility. I marked them down for four stars since they don't accept cash. I would like to come back to try the various rolls.

Love love love the sushi burrito concept!! Came here on a trip to the Bay Area and was my fav fast casual spot! The sumo crunch was great - as a fan of imitation crab meat and tempura shrimp, I found it to be amazing blend of flavor and textures. Very filling and satisfying. It was a perfect experience, except for the fact that I found a hair in my burrito, but they gladly remade it and were apologetic (it happens).

Takeout order: 6/10 Salmon Samba $17 - cooked salmon was not bad. Wasn't dry but also wasn't juicy either. Not really seasoned so lacked flavor overall. Heavy on the rice side. Expensive for a sushirrito and salmon quantity was average. 6.5/10 The cowboy $14 - surprising slightly better than the salmon. Rice later was thinner and more beef. The marinade and sauces on the beef have it a better flavor but the beef is almost like minced so it's not nice big pieces. Overall food was mid and high cost.

A sushi burrito. Just like it sounds, it's a big sushi roll you eat like a burrito. I really liked the fiery chicken and it wasn't too hot at all. The geisha's kiss with tuna was just like a tuna roll. Very good and I will try it again. No cash. Everything is electronic payments.

    Salmon Samba... sooo good!

My son ordered Sushirrito today. I had the salmon samba and it was so delicious! It's been a white snd I'd forgotten how good they are. I still recommend them, even though they are kind of pricey.

    Sophie C.

Good for when you don't wanna order yet another lion king or dragon roll, but still want some sushi and carbs; this is where Sushirrito comes in and makes for a good clean meal without chopsticks. Tried the cowboy 'rito and the geisha's kiss. The cowboy (beef) was a bit too salty. Geisha's kiss was just right. Also ordered chicken kara-age thinking the rolls might not be enough for dinner, but boy; those rolls were filling! First impression is that it may be a bit pricey (well, it's Palo Alto downtown) but portions aren't skimpy.

The restaurant is lively and loud, with walls adorned with cool art highlighting Vietnamese culture. The menu and prices reflect the upscale nature of the cuisine - you can have Wagyu for Pho or Shaking Beef. It reminds me of Slanted Door in San Ramon, only Tamarine has better food and selections: 1. Shaking Beef - a must-get dish, and the default filet mignon beef cooked medium is still super soft and juicy. 2 Chicken wontons - the appetizer is a riff on the Sichuan style red chili oil pork wontons and is just as good. The ground chicken really works here. 3 Green Papaya Salad is okay, but the standout it the beef jerky which is excellent - our 6yo gobbled all of it. 4. Clay Pot Cod - super flakey, soft and moist and packed with sweet-savory flavors. A luxurious fish best eaten with Jasmine rice, which comes nicely steamed in a large banana leaf. 5. The Hoisin-Land Chops cooked medium were good, but still somewhat fatty with some pink parts. Maybe medium well would have been better. 6. Basil Tofu - excellent appetizer - crispy soft tofu and aromatic crispy basil leaves. 7. Roti Banh Mi - basically a buttery, crispy Roti with curry-like dip - no beef flavors or pickled elements. Its beyond me what its called Banh Mi. 8. Lastly, save room for dessert - a slice of Hojicha Burnt Creme Cheese Cake with Strawberry Compote. Thick, creamy, and hint of green tea and definitely shareable with three people. Highly recommend for a dinner splurge in Palo Alto. They have a good sized parking lot in the back of the restaurant.

Tamirine has a beautiful, sophisticated dining room and the food presentation fits the upscale Vietnamese concept. However, the experience starts before a guest ever sits down, and that is where management has an opportunity to improve. When guests arrive, they should be greeted promptly and acknowledged, rather than left waiting outside, especially in the heat. Even if the restaurant is not ready to seat them immediately, a simple greeting such as, "Welcome, we'll be right with you," goes a long way. It communicates that the guest has been seen and that the team is in control. This is also where strong SOPs and management follow-through become important. For an upscale restaurant, the arrival and greeting process should be clearly defined: who greets the guest, how quickly they should be acknowledged, what happens when there is a wait, and how guests are communicated with while they wait. SOPs only work when management consistently trains, observes, coaches, and enforces them. Having procedures written down is not enough. Leaders need to make sure the team is actually executing them during every shift, particularly during busy periods. The restaurant has the setting and concept to deliver a premium experience. The next step is making sure the service standards consistently match the environment and price point. Management should remember: the guest experience begins at the front door, not when the food reaches the table.

We checked in at the front desk and were quickly seated even though it was busy (did opt to sit at the sushi bar though). Sitting at the bar, Charles was our sushi chef (since he was stationed in front of us) and he was exceptional! Very knowledgeable and friendly, he was able to prepare our orders right in front of us as we ordered sushi throughout the course of our meal! I started with the Grand Cordon which was a gin-based cocktail. It was refreshing and light but may have preferred to order a japanese whisky instead. We ordered a trio of nigiri: hamachi, kanpachi and Japanese snapper. They were all excellent and fresh, but enjoyed the snapper the most (wife liked the kanpachi most). Charles also provided us both Kizami wasabi and fresh grated wasabi. The Kizami is what we love with its chopped pickled wasabi but the fresh grated wasabi was another game-changer! Also ordered the salmon skin salad with bonito flakes and citrus to squeeze, new style sashimi scallops, yellowtail sashimi jalapeño, a Toro scallion roll, spider roll and a black cod miso (hot). The salad was excellent with the crispy salmon skin and savory bonito flakes. We both preferred the scallops over yellowtail and were surprised we enjoyed the new style flavors. Yellowtail was still excellent and maybe we were too yellowtail'ed out from the nigiri (probably not since it's one of my favorite fish). The toro scallion roll was buttery smooth and spider roll with large soft shell crab filling helped cap off our fresh fish tasting experience. The black cod was very tasty with a sweet miso glaze but wasn't as noteworthy as all the fresh fish items. We couldn't celebrate without some A5 and ordered 2 oz and got it Ishiyaki style (highly recommend!). Coming out on a hot stone, we cooked our A5 wagyu with a garlic and herb infused oil and then grilled the whole garlic cloves with the rest of the heat from the stone. Very enjoyable night out without the little ones! Service was excellent and the place was small but lived up to the high end luxury restaurant experience!
