This is my second Pacific Catch. The first one I tried was in downtown Sunnyvale. It was very good, so my hopes for the PA location was positive. They have a very handsome interior, which fits the upscale shopping center like a suit and tie. There were plenty of inside and outside dining. I'll jump to the food. I had the fish & chips and it was very good. The fries and dipping sauces were a great complement to the fish. This itself was light and not greasy at all (some places make them greasy). I added the Mexican corn and it too, was very good. My buddy had the Miso Black Cod and it will be the next thing I try and when I go back. So the food was great and the atmosphere was good. The service was okay, maybe even decent. The young ladies in the front sat us quickly, but looked liked they wanted to be somewhere else. I don't expect much from a host team and in this case, didn't get much. We were sat quickly and I won't ask for more than that. Our server was okay and took our orders. However, she didn't check back with us during our entire time there (over an hour) and thus, out water glasses were never refilled. It was a relatively warm afternoon and I definitely wanted more water. She was busy and I didn't get the chance to flag her down. Not a tragedy. All in all, decent place in a grand shopping center. We came to Pacific Catch on a Saturday evening after shopping at the Stanford Shopping Center. This location is conveniently situated just outside the mall. While all the other nearby restaurants had a wait, this one is larger and had tables available immediately. Overall, the food is alright. Our Baja shrimp ceviche was pretty tasty, and the seafood taco platter was good as well. However, the California sushi roll and the Wagyu cheeseburger were a bit below expectations. The sushi roll was loosely rolled and soft, and the Wagyu cheeseburger lacked flavor and felt basic. The service was okay. Our food arrived quickly, but the waitstaff could be more welcoming. My team and I celebrated our project completion at Pacific Catch. Not sure if we just came in on a bad day, but service was incredibly slow. It took nearly half an hour of waiting for someone to ask if we wanted appetizers, then another half an hour for our waiter to come back and take our actual food orders. The food itself was good. It's mostly covered, so it doesn't even feel like you're really outside (I love these kinds of outdoor settings!). If you go to my Yelp account, you will see I am obsessed with Pacific Catch. I have tried almost all their locations in the Bay Area. Palo Alto's food did not disappoint. I eat here so much I signed up for their rewards program, which is extremely generous, and got a free sushi roll this time around. The only reason this review is not a perfect 5/5 was the service. Unfortunately, we were sat in the bar area without being told, and the bartender was really busy and rarely checked on us. It also seemed like a bother that we used our rewards. Nonetheless, we loved the food. We started with the White Tiger Ceviche. This is priced pretty high for a starter, but it is definitely worth it. I did like it a little more at a different location, but this was still very good. They really know how to cook their fish here! I know it should be obvious with a name like Pacific Catch, but you would be surprised how many fish places do not know how to cook it. We got the Shrimp Tempura Roll. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I absolutely love their ceviche, so I went with the Poke & Ceviche Trio. But instead of two poke, I got two of the Baja Shrimp Ceviche and one Serrano Ahi Poke. Both are so delicious, but the sides do not disappoint. The wonton chips and dips are my favorite. My MIL went with their Mexican Grilled Shrimp Bowl. At first glance, she preferred my dish, but as soon as she dug in, she did not regret her decision. They cook the shrimp to perfection. I don't think we have ever had gummy shrimp at any location. She loved the cook on the rice and beans, which is crazy because it was brown rice. Everything tasted great together. When I went to ask about my order, this same young woman went back to check and my order was sitting in the to go queue on the shelf for who knows how long! No apology and just a "Here you go". So, I used the sweet and sour sauce on the beef burger and hot sauce was added to the salmon burger. Sweet potato fries were good but the coleslaw needed help. I prefer a little more mayo or dressing. But, if you like a more shredded cabbage raw taste then this might be for you. Service was okay. Waited a bit to be seated . After ordering, a few minutes later they brought to us the next table's order !? I had to tell the waitress, I believe it's their order (pointing to the table) ! As to value, I give it a C+. For the average minimum cost of $21.00 (not including drinks or tax), your food is placed on a steel tray with paper on top. I've been a long‑time patron of Pacific Catch, especially at the Stanford Shopping Center location, but today's visit was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. I arrived with my two small dogs in their stroller. The hostess/waitress -- someone I recognized from previous visits -- initially tried to seat me outside with the other guests. Moments later, a manager approached and said the walkway was too narrow for the stroller. I understood completely and even said I could go elsewhere, but she offered an alternative outdoor section along the side of the restaurant. I appreciated the effort and took a seat there -- the only guest in that area. We exchanged introductions, and she mentioned she'd been in her role for two months. She also knew I had traveled a long way and that I was a frequent customer. She placed menus on the table, and I settled in, ready to order my usual Miso Cod. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. Fifteen to twenty minutes passed with no greeting, no water, no server, no acknowledgment of any kind. Being seated alone in a side section should have made it even more important for the manager to ensure someone was assigned to that table. Instead, I was completely forgotten. I eventually left and went to a nearby Japanese restaurant, where -- despite also having the dogs in a stroller -- I was seated promptly, treated warmly, and served impeccably. We went there last Christmas season when we shopped at the mall and liked it so much we came back again this year. Fresh California/Mexican style seafood with good service. The place was packed on a Monday afternoon in early December but the 5 of us got lucky with a table within a few minutes. Lively atmosphere . Bright, modern decor with inside and outside seating. We got the Fish and Shrimp Tacos last year and they were so good we decided to get them again this year and they didn't disappoint. Super fresh ingredients and the sriracha lime crema brought everything together. The West Coast Salmon also stood out. The salmon cooked perfectly and the 1/2 brown rice 1/2 quinoa was super delicious and unique. Never thought to put those 2 ingredients together.
