First time eating at this Pacific Catch location. I've eaten at the other locations and love the fresh ingredients and carefully crafted menu. A nice outside patio area with heat lamps if needed. Otherwise, it's a nice relaxing meal outside. They also have a fairly large inside dining area with a full bar. Two separate multi-user restrooms behind the swinging saloon doors. If you want to go back and revisit your high school cafeteria lunch this is a good place to do it. We got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was just awful. The broccoli and carrots were just steamed and too soft with no seasoning . The chicken was dry and served in big pieces that were difficult to cut in a bowl. I ordered the wagyu cheeseburger along with the Mexican corn, and I was genuinely excited when my order arrived because I've heard good things about this place. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The wagyu cheeseburger arrived without any cheese, which was surprising considering it's supposed to be a cheeseburger. On top of that, the patty itself was extremely dry and lacked flavor. I ended up comparing it to a veggie burger I've had before, which honestly tasted much better and was far more satisfying. The Mexican corn was also a letdown. The portion size was incredibly small--smaller than a single scoop of mashed potatoes you'd get at KFC. The steak tastes alright, but the Brussels sprouts are too oily and salty, ruined the steak taste, so in general I do not recommend. If you go to my Yelp account, you will see I am obsessed with Pacific Catch. I have tried almost all their locations in the Bay Area. Palo Alto's food did not disappoint. I eat here so much I signed up for their rewards program, which is extremely generous, and got a free sushi roll this time around. The only reason this review is not a perfect 5/5 was the service. Unfortunately, we were sat in the bar area without being told, and the bartender was really busy and rarely checked on us. It also seemed like a bother that we used our rewards. Nonetheless, we loved the food. We started with the White Tiger Ceviche. This is priced pretty high for a starter, but it is definitely worth it. I did like it a little more at a different location, but this was still very good. They really know how to cook their fish here! I know it should be obvious with a name like Pacific Catch, but you would be surprised how many fish places do not know how to cook it. We got the Shrimp Tempura Roll. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I absolutely love their ceviche, so I went with the Poke & Ceviche Trio. But instead of two poke, I got two of the Baja Shrimp Ceviche and one Serrano Ahi Poke. Both are so delicious, but the sides do not disappoint. The wonton chips and dips are my favorite. My MIL went with their Mexican Grilled Shrimp Bowl. At first glance, she preferred my dish, but as soon as she dug in, she did not regret her decision. They cook the shrimp to perfection. I don't think we have ever had gummy shrimp at any location. She loved the cook on the rice and beans, which is crazy because it was brown rice. Everything tasted great together. Again, the only issue was being sat in the bar area and waiting super long for the bartender to check in on us. Not his fault he was sat, I guess, but they need to get him more help. So, I used the sweet and sour sauce on the beef burger and hot sauce was added to the salmon burger. Sweet potato fries were good but the coleslaw needed help. I prefer a little more mayo or dressing. But, if you like a more shredded cabbage raw taste then this might be for you. Service was okay. Waited a bit to be seated . We went there last Christmas season when we shopped at the mall and liked it so much we came back again this year. Fresh California/Mexican style seafood with good service. The place was packed on a Monday afternoon in early December but the 5 of us got lucky with a table within a few minutes. Lively atmosphere . Bright, modern decor with inside and outside seating. We got the Fish and Shrimp Tacos last year and they were so good we decided to get them again this year and they didn't disappoint. Super fresh ingredients and the sriracha lime crema brought everything together. The West Coast Salmon also stood out. The salmon cooked perfectly and the 1/2 brown rice 1/2 quinoa was super delicious and unique. Never thought to put those 2 ingredients together. The service wasn't friendly but it was efficient, we were never asked how the food was or if we needed refills (which we did). At the end of the meal the server dropped off a check without saying a literal word. Baffled and confused we paid and left. The food was good, no complaints. It wasn't great. The price was pretty expensive for what we ordered. 2 drinks, 2 entrees and 2 appetizers = over $110 We'll probably come back to see if the service is better. Maybe she was just having a bad day. The spicy salmon sushi taco was incredibly delicious; the salmon was fresh, and the sauce was amazing. The sticky ribs were sweet and tender, and the guacamole was probably my favorite--so creamy and addictive. Korean BBQ Entree: This dish came with a generous portion! I loved the kimchi fried rice and sticky ribs. The marinated skirt steak, however, was a bit too chewy for my liking. I would have preferred a different steak cut for a better texture. The Brussels sprouts were also fantastic, with a salty flavor that paired perfectly with the sweet sticky ribs. Overall, I had a great time at Pacific Catch. Love me some Pacific Catch! Cute decor, fun place to dine when shopping at Stanford Mall. It's a popular place for Palo Alto families. Perhaps the room shape is a little awkward compared to their Mountain View location, but they have the same great menu. Hadn't been in awhile, and I noticed they actually improved some of the dishes, like my favorite caramelized pineapple cocktail, which was more delicious and drinkable than before, as they used crushed ice instead of frozen. Street corn was served as corn kernels instead of on the cob, which made it easier to eat. I loooooove their salads with shiitake mushroom and roasted salmon, the miso dressing makes it. Kimchi rice is super delicious with spicy aioli. Peruvian and Spanish styles are a new feature in the menu, which is a smart, sophisticated addition. I liked the papas bravas, with yummy sauces, though the potatoes could have been more crispy. A surprisingly good, dog friendly fast casual seafood spot in the heart of Stanford Mall. I went with a couple of friends and their dog and was pleasantly surprised by the food! Admittedly I've always avoided PC since it seemed like your typical fast casual spot - which if you've eaten at one you've eaten at them all, but while the food wasn't mindblowing it was definitely above average. I ordered the salmon catch with chimichurri and two sides: the kimchi fried rice and the mashed potatoes - all of which I would say was seasoned well. I did think that the portion of fish I received, while fresh, felt mildly small, especially for the price tag - and while I left full, the heavy sides I ordered did a lot of lifting in that regard. Ambiance is great - the restaurant is very aptly decorated and the patio seating was pretty cozy and dog friendly. They even have gave a small treat and had a dog specific menu that you could order from! With the hustle and bustle of stanford mall, you can't go wrong with the ambiance. Service was standard, nothing super standout and maybe even a little slow, but not bad. Overall, I would like to return to try their tacos and their bowls. From what I saw, those might be better value for their price, and offer a much more balanced option than just fish and carbs like I had ordered, though that's definitely my own fault. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I was genuinely excited to try the food after hearing some hype about it. Unfortunately, the experience fell way short of my expectations. I went with my friend for lunch. We started with the calamari, which was incredibly salty. I tried to cut the salt with some lemon, but that just made it worse. My friend ordered sushi tempura rolls, and those too were overwhelmingly salty. A child in our group had a teriyaki plate, which was just okay, nothing special but at least edible. I ordered the Mexican shrimp bowl. The first time it came out, the shrimp was semi-raw. I'm currently pregnant, so I politely returned it and asked for the shrimp to be fully cooked. They brought the plate back to me in just three minutes, which made me question whether they actually made a fresh batch or just pretended to cook it more. I didn't feel safe eating it, so I left the shrimp untouched. To make things worse, the bowl was extremely basic, just 2-3 cups of brown rice, some beans, spring mix, and guacamole. For the price, it was seriously underwhelming. And the guacamole? Incredibly salty, just like everything else. I did try one shrimp out of frustration, and of course, it was salty too. In the end, I didn't eat my food. I was embarrassed to send it back again and left the restaurant still hungry and very upset. The food was low quality and way overpriced. To top it all off, the bar staff was loudly joking with each other, making inappropriate sexual remarks, swearing constantly, and carrying on conversations that were completely unprofessional. I had a healthy and wholesome meal of grilled halibut, broccollini and brussels sprouts. Great place for daily eats but my dining experience was sub par. Sat outside and placed order. The customers beside my table came after me but got served water first and then served food that looked like what I ordered! Well, the customer didn't order that yet she accepted it and started eating. When they realized the mess up, they asked her what she ordered and she said lobster rolls, so they took back the food that was supposed to be mine. I had to wait for them to redo it and made sure I was not served what she had. The manager had to supervise the remake. It was quite chaotic and disorganized. Don't understand how the customer could accept a dish and start eating something she didn't order! Tsk tsk... oh well. Eventually, we decided on two orders of the two-piece fish and chips with choice of fries and two orders of fish tacos with a choice of salad/fries. The food was hot and crispy.
