I was surprised that the sushi was a decent size, which you normally don't get from buffets. My only negative is that they had large tarpolines advertising a car raffle. This is such a cute exterior, it has a beautiful koi pond with huge fish that you can feed for a quarter, its a hit with the kids. The hibachi was seasoned well and the chef was hilarious, he paid special attention to the kids and made it a fun experience for them. The sushi and soup were both flavorful also. Everyone gave their best throughout the night. Super friendly and making great suggestions. The ambience was absolutely stunning with all of the Christmas lights and decorations. This was our first time here. We definitely had a great date night and would recommend it for others. The food was great too. I was criticized for my food choices, and members of my party experienced the same treatment. The chef made repeated inappropriate comments, and even other guests joined in, suggesting we should have been seated elsewhere. This behavior was completely unacceptable. I left feeling harassed and disappointed, especially after spending money on drinks and appetizers I could not even enjoy. This location is much bigger than the outside view. The inside has lots of seating areas and great views. The Koi pond and outside area gives a traditional feel with lots of space. The staff is accommodating , friendly and our chef had a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed the fresh sushi as well as the beautiful presentation. The food here is always great, but the service has been inconsistent lately. It honestly hurts me to write this, because I've enjoyed this place for a long time, but the last few visits have left me feeling short changed. On our most recent visit I ordered an extra side of vegetables and my parent ordered the regular portion. We both requested no zucchini, but somehow the chef gave me what looked like her portion and only gave her about half a scoop. It was such a small amount that I had to share some of mine even though I paid extra for it. The chef couldn't portion the meal. The same thing happened with the fried rice. The chef started portioning from the other side, and by the time he got to us, the portions were noticeably smaller again. We usually never finish our rice, but this time we had none left over at all. It's frustrating to spend around $200 for just two people, pay extra for sides, and still feel like we didn't receive fair portions. I enjoy the food, but I hope the restaurant can work on consistency and portioning so customers feel they're getting what they paid for. I'm flabbergasted this place doesn't have more stars. It's incredible! We came here on NYE; the decorations are a testament to the love put into this place and the service was above average. (We sat at a normal table, not hibachi) The house soup warmed me up and I loved the Gyosa as an appetizer. We got the Shaggy Dog Roll and the Osaka Roll, both excellent. The bathroom was just ok, not sparkling, but it was the end of the day. The koi pond and lights really impressed me, and I've never seen a fog machine in a pond add to the ambiance of a restaurant so much! We had a very disappointing experience at this hibachi restaurant. The chef cooking in front of us clearly gave priority to one side of the table where there were people he seemed to know. They received noticeably larger portions, while our side was served much less. On top of that, he completely forgot to give us the vegetables we ordered. The uneven treatment made the experience uncomfortable and frustrating. Hibachi is supposed to be fun and inclusive for everyone at the table, but that was not the case here. So last time me and my girlfriend went to Sakura we shared a meal. They charged us $12 or something like that for the soup and salad so both of us could have a soup and salad. So today we went there for dinner again to do the same thing and they said no, we are not allowing Sharing anymore. They weren't even friendly about it. They were pretty fucking rude about it. Excuse my language this is on the hibachi table. My girlfriend had already ordered a unsweet tea and I ordered a large sake so to not eat there they charged us $20. We decided to get up and go we didn't want to spend $100 on two meals we were not that hungry. They did not offer us any other options but to pay for the food or go bye-bye so we left. I will never go back to Sakura and eat again. I am not happy with that place. It has not been the same since May and Paul left. I love the ambience. I love the outside. It is noisy as every table grill is required to yell, "Whoop, Whoop" The food is oily and greasy as it is grill cooked. There are large portions of rice and noodles. Been a while since our last visit. I know they changed owners and did some remodeling inside so wanted to give them some time to get the kinks worked out. The initial reviews I saw were a little inconsistent so waited longer than usual to give them a try again. Upon walking in, saw some familiar faces still working there and one actually recognized me - lol. I used to work nearby and we would probably go to lunch here once a month. The food was good as usual and our chef was really fun. We occupied the whole table so it made for a great evening. Everything was cooked well but I do have 2 critiques. The first is that probably half our table ordered some chicken with their hibachi dinners. The chef cooked the chicken last and I'm used to seeing that done first since it takes longer. Secondly, the noodles at the end needed to cook a little longer. A splash of water would've helped steam and soften them up. Overall, a good visit and I'm glad to see they are thriving once again. read more

The food was wonderful, as always we live very close to Sakura and try to go at least once every six weeks. Wow! Came here about a week ago with a larger party and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great and prompt, drinks were good (a little pricy), and we received so much food and all of it was delicious! The hibachi comes with soup and a salad. Then we received our drinks. Someone in our party ordered a sushi roll as an app (I can't remember which roll), and it was amazing! The chef came out, entertained us and cooked our orders. Wow, sooo much food, and everything - fried rice, noodles, veggies, chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops was absolutely delicious. The portions were so large, we were stuffed and still all had leftovers, and that's including having large athletes at our table. This place is well worth the price and I highly recommend. I can't wait for the next opportunity to come back and spoil myself or plan a get-together here. read more

This was our first time eating here, although we are from the area and have seen it before. The outside is beautiful (I only wish I took a photo). There's a huge koi pond that takes up one side of the outdoor area and a patio area with walkway. Pros- 1) atmosphere was welcoming, people were polite and had a good sense of humor 2) food was tasty and good size portions. More than you can eat so expect takeout and 3) the bathrooms are clean. Cons- 1) the wait was unacceptable. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet we waiting over an hour before they started cooking. The server just kept refilling our drinks and we found ourselves getting full off drinks just waiting on the chef. It took 1hr 35 mins to get food onto our plates. 2) there was hair on my plate when I arrived and the countertop was sticky from soy sauce and wasn't fully cleaned prior to seating us. 3) the prices are slightly higher then the avg hibachi restaurant I would recommend this place because overall it's really a beautiful and delicious restaurant. After Kanki closed, my son and I started going to Sakura. We would go at least once or twice a month. As of today we're not returning. Without warning, they have decided to up charge for asking for only vegetables or only rice, despite my son only eating the rice and me only eating the vegetables. Easy solution... Give me his vegetables and he'll eat my rice... I showed a receipt showing I've never been charged before. The manager said they had to charge us $3 each to do it. The general manager was at the bar drinking and told the manager it had to be that way despite my telling them it made no sense. I asked to speak to him directly and he refused to talk to me, waved me away. We left. $300 easily for the group I had tonight with drinks, and dismissed like a fly. Take your business elsewhere... Went for the first time today with my dad and husband to celebrate my 50th birthday. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious....we all had the clear soup, my husband and I had the salad with the mayo dressing, and I had the chicken/scallops meal. My husband had the lobster/shrimp meal while my dad had the chicken/shrimp meal. Everything was incredible! The chef was friendly and conversational. Even the koi pond outside was lovely to look at.
