After reading all of the great reviews online, I was really excited to go here. I took my little sister here for her birthday, and we were surprisingly disappointed. I really, really wanted to like it here... No one including staff and guests were wearing a mask. I asked if my sister and I were able to take off our masks and she said "no... because one of us had to..." I was confused because no one else was wearing a mask. I wondered why just us? There are other guests around. Was it because we were both... Asian? I became uncomfortable but brushed it off. It was only my sister and I in the tour group for the 90 min ride and it was our first time ever riding a horse. Our tour guide didn't introduce herself, didn't talk to us the whole ride, and didn't explain anything about horses or the environment. She rarely checked up on us, and at the end of the tour, didn't say goodbye and just left. Another lady who I assume is the owner came to take a photo of us, helped us get off the horses, and that was that. No other comments or even a good bye. I was confused because all of the reviews said that the staff were friendly and informative... I thought maybe I missed something or if this was how horseback riding is supposed to be... In a time of a pandemic combined with the recent stigmas against Asian communities, I wondered if we were being treated this way because of our race even though we were born and raised in Orange County. It did not feel like a tour, because no one talked to us or even treated us with respect. Regardless, I did not feel welcomed. The horses themselves were well trained and wonderful, but the overall experience was a little jarring. I was confused because I had never experienced anything like this from anyone before, maybe because I am usually with other white folks... It was really disappointing, but had to share my experience to hopefully create change in the way they treat their future visitors. read more

The horses are so well-trained and all the animals on the farm are extremely friendly and cute. The trail was beautiful and I cannot recommend this place enough. This place is so awesome, came here with my 3 year old for the petting zoo and pony ride and we had a blast. Got to feed the horses, the goats and the pony. The petting zoo has a good variety of animals. Definitely planning on coming back! Side note: to get there you have to drive throw some dirt roads and the ranch itself has no concrete it's all dirt so just dress accordingly. read more

Had an amazing experience at Susie Q Ranch. Wife and I wanted to do something different for our 18th anniversary so we decided to do a couples horse back ride. We went for a house tour. Great scenery, amazing staff, knowledgeable and friendly. 2 adults and two young kids and everybody had a lot of fun, including myself that I am usually scared of animals. Very careful about kids safety measures and very cautious about COVID measurements: hand sanitizer available and everybody wearing masks in addition to more than 6 feet distance dictated by the type of activity. We had the BEST time at Suzie Q Ranch today! Our daughters birthday wish was for all of us to go horseback riding together. My staff and I went here for a day of riding and wow were we impressed! When we arrived we were greeted by the cutest dog Daisy and the staff got us all situated with our paperwork and helmets. They quickly got out horses saddled up and then it was time for a ride. I was very nervous as I have never ridden before but once I was on my horse Valentine I was completely at ease. There were some horses that didn't get along with others so we had to make sure we stayed in a straight line which didn't bother me too much. The guides were extremely friendly and helpful and let us give the horses sponge baths and feed them carrots afterwards. My love of animals grew after my visit here and will definitely be coming back. Hopefully I can take some riding lessons. My boyfriend and I had such a great time at Susie Q's Ranch! We spent a day in the Temecula area after planning last-minute, and literally found that Susie had availability for us to take a ride on two horses while we were on the way there, for a very reasonable price. There are three options to choose from-- a 1 hour ride, a 90 min ride, or a 90 min ride/wine sampling combo. We selected the 1 hour ride, but it ended up being just the two of us riding Apache and Hank, while Susie herself took us on a tour riding Little Bit. We took a very pleasant, easy ride which ended up being ~ 1 1/2 hrs in total, and we couldn't get enough of the view, the experience of riding on 2 great horses that were friendly and well-trained, and the good company of our guide during our incidentally private trip. We also loved feeding carrots to the horses while Susie was saddling up Apache and Hank beforehand. I was most grateful for a spare pair of socks and boots that Susie had on hand to borrow, as my closed toed shoes weren't going to cut it on the trails. and staying to see some of the other horses afterwards. We loved it here start-to-finish, and we can't wait to come back! read more

Great way to spend a Sunday morning! My sister was in town visiting and mentioned she wanted to go trail riding. After a quick search I was happy to find this place, which happened to be just up the road from me! Susie and her staff are kind and knowledgable. They are knowledgeable of their horses personalities and pair you perfectly. My 5 & 9 year olds each had their own horse and loved every minute! I was amazed at the amount of trails right in my back yard! It was so nice to be in such a quiet peaceful setting just outside the city limits. They have spare boots, helmets & saddle bags for your use as well as carrots to treat your horse after the ride. Susie Q Ranch is a full service ranch with boarding, lessons, leasing to name a few. Its a clean property with great facilities if you are looking to turn your leisurely trail ride into something more. Despite paying a lot ( 8 people ended up being $600+), and many whom were young and had never ridden, we were rushed onto the horses and not treated politely at all. This was my first time riding in years and she did a great job reminding of silly things I should have remembered. She does a wonderful job pairing the experience of the rider to the horse.
