If you've read any of my many reviews of the SusieCakes location in Costa Mesa, you'd know I'm a fan. I was in the area and decided to give this Laguna Niguel location a try. I got my usual Carrot Cake slice ($8.49) and Old Fashioned Chocolate slice ($8.99). They looked and tasted the same as the Costa Mesa location, which is great! I love I can rely on their consistency and quality. The staff was also friendly, just like I'm used to! I really hope that I can see more locations pop up in Orange County, especially in the Tustin/Irvine area *please*! Looking forward to my next visit to SusieCakes, who makes my day that much sweeter! read more

Ordered a cake online morning of the bday event I was going to. Was super relieved they do same day cake orders and delivered in what I wanted written on the cake. Got the Summer Strawberry whipped cake 6-8 round cake with a cake server and words written for 74.99. It was a delicious cake! Susie's always delivers. Was a little grossed out by the girl just put the cake server without it being in a bag or anything just bare taped to the box right in front of me. SusieCakes has been our favorite for years, but we'd never been to this location until now--and we were pleasantly surprised to learn it's actually closer to where we live than driving to OC Mix. We stopped by yesterday to pick up cupcakes for a birthday celebration and chose chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, and mocha. The mocha cupcake was the standout and is officially our new favorite. The icing had a bold mocha flavor that paired perfectly with the chocolate cake--we'll definitely be getting it again next time. One thing I wish I had known beforehand was the pricing: regular cupcakes are $5.25, while the "Happy Birthday" cupcakes are $6.25. Personally, I don't think the upcharge is worth it, and I wouldn't get that version again. Customer service was great--the staff member who helped us was friendly and welcoming. While we were there, they also had samples of their marble cake, which I tried and really enjoyed. It's moist, flavorful, and delicious, though it's only available as a whole cake or by the slice, not as a cupcake. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend SusieCakes to anyone who loves moist, flavorful cupcakes. read more

Got a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and it was DELISH!!! Tasted so fresh and flavorful. Presentation was also beautiful- love the heart on the pie! And my family truly enjoyed it. Birthday month 2025: if you are a member of SuziesCakes rewards program, every year on their app you will find a free slice of cake for your birthday. This year was my first time utilizing it. I chose red velvet cake and opted to purchase a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie tasted like it had salt in it , i was not a fan. 2/5. For the value of 3.95 almost $4.00 id rather go to crumbl's or dirty dough. The cake however, was the best out of the 2. I enjoyed the frosting. The cake was a little dry, but consumable. Is it worth the $8.95 price? I dont think so. Customer service was amazing and the girls back there were kind. Overall, maybe it was an off day, but 3/5 is the fairest i could rate. Id probably go back for a different flavor cake, maybe carrot, but not soo sure. read more

Used to go here a lot in the past and decided to get a cupcake last night. I ordered two strawberry cupcakes and they were very good. The icing had strawberry inside the icing and the cupcake itself was good a little dry but good. The prices have gone up everywhere, Two cupcakes were a bit over $10. Susie Cakes really is a reliable spot to grab dessert! The staff is friendly. It has a small interior with a large display case. This time was a visit to pick up our Too Good To Go app order. If you haven't tried Too Good To Go, it's worth it (the app basically allows restaurants to sell their over produced goods that won't last till the next day and will likely be tossed out, but at 1/3 the cost). The cupcakes were excellent and the cookie was tasty! If you need a dessert, it's a spot you can count on. read more

SusieCakes is a staple in this area. If you are craving something sweet. I'm obsessed with their coconut cupcake. It's always so moist, not so much frosting and fresh coconut shavings on top. I've ordered countless cakes from Susie and they are impeccable. The mini cupcakes are great if you just want a little treat without feeling guilty of a whole cupcake. Their cookies, especially the sugar one is soft and chewy. The employees are always so helpful, patiently waiting for you to select your goodies. It's next to a Starbucks and across a movie theater so parking is limited if you want to park right in front. The smell is intoxicating in the best way when you walk in, it's no surprise you can't just leave ordering one item. Temptation is way too strong in there so be prepared to indulge. read more

I just called because I ordered the golf themed cake for a birthday this weekend. I was on hold for 10 mins and an extremely rude woman finally answered. I mentioned the outside of the cake is green and white and the order says the inside frosting is blue. I called asking if the inside frosting can be white or green to match the custom cake and she said well then the cake has to be two layers shorter and will cost "a lot more". She continued saying we can't change old Susie's recipe. How is changing the blue frosting (which doesn't match this "custom cake") to white changing the recipe? We were already upcharged to change to the celebration flavor and upcharged again for white frosting on the outside so I have no idea why they can't do white or green frosting to match the outside of the cake. What awful customer service. I'm debating canceling my order and I'll likely never buy from here again. Unfortunately, it's the week of the party and I ordered this cake weeks ago not thinking the inside frosting wouldn't match the cake. So disappointed. read more

I stopped by SusieCakes this afternoon for a little sweet treat and left with not just dessert, but a big smile on my face! I picked up two different slices of cake (both amazing, as always) and was curious about the coconut layer bar, which looked delicious. The woman at the counter was absolutely lovely, Stacey, she was very polite, cheerful, and genuinely a joy to talk to. She kindly explained how to sign up for their rewards through the app and made the whole experience feel so welcoming. As I was getting ready to leave, she surprised me by offering a slightly damaged piece of the coconut bar free of charge. She said it wasn't sellable, but she wanted me to have it because I'd made her day with my smile. Honestly, she made my day with her kindness. The cake is always cute--super Instagram-worthy--but it's consistently dry compared to the Costa Mesa location. Not sure if it's the way they store it or timing, but I've left disappointed a few times now. If you're going for looks, it's fine. SusieCakes had been on my mind for quite some time, and I was glad to see that there was one in the area. Granted, it was a bit of a drive out to Laguna Niguel, but we pulled in, and I ordered four cupcakes to-go. Staff was nice, but when it came to paying for the treats, a strange "healthcare tax" was charged to my card. I'd heard about this from previous Yelp reviews, and I was not very happy about it. If it's to help with "employee benefits," why not just raise the pay for them and/or have them included as part of their job? Not cool at all. The cupcakes themselves: they were very mediocre. I could have honestly made better ones, and much less sweet. The frostings on the pineapple upside down and coconut were cloying, almost inedible: I could literally taste the sugar granules in parts that weren't incorporated completely. The lemon and red velvet cupcakes were better, but still way too sweet. And this is someone with a huge sweet tooth... Unfortunately, SusieCakes doesn't work for me. read more

We did a mad drive and got to the store right at 7 when sales/servers were getting ready to switch off lights. I come here weekly. Today I swang by because is had $10 off from the rewards program. When I arrived home my cookie was so finely wrapped with the susie cakes sticker and it dawned on me that I had never left a review. It made me realize that no matter the day, Date, time, Susie cakes is always professional and takes care of detail. The workers there are great. Nice. Kind. Even during the rush of holidays, birthdays. Working in the customer service field I know first hand this is not always how we want to be everyday but its nice to see the people here strive daily for greatness.
