Don't let the name fool you, not only do they make wonderful cakes to order, It's All About The Cake provides fantastic breakfast, brunch and lunch options as well. The atmosphere is light and bright, the prices fair and the food quality is good. There are indulgent options, including Brioche French Toast, but also lower calorie options, including house made soups and salads.

We ordered 12 cupcakes for my kids little birthday celebration. I did it via email and it somehow got lost and luckily I am an annoying double check person and called and was able to get the order located and they were able to make it. The cake is pretty dense and very moist, pretty darn good! The buttercream frosting just wasn't very sweet, a mild flavor that was just subpar. They told me they were going to make "ocean themed" sprinkles but they had multi colored ones instead, which were fine... I had originally asked for those or no sprinkles, but when talking to the lady I think Jennifer on the phone she said they could do ocean theme. Ordered from them because 15 years ago they made our wedding cake and it was the best cake not only myself and husband have ever had but we got so many compliments and questions on who we ordered from. Disappointed. I would like to go back and buy a sampling of pastries to see if there are other things more to our liking.

It's All About The Cake is a part of the restaurant and catering company, What a Dish. The cake section is filled with beautiful desserts, like mousse cups, decadent brownies, mini pies and more! Also, you can custom order a cake -- and they are gorgeous and even more delicious!

It's all about the cake was our bakery linked with our wedding venue that we had the pleasure of working with for our wedding cake! Our tasting (4 months prior to our wedding) was absolutely lovely. They provided many different cake options as well as filling and icing too! It was a very enjoyable experience and we were able to solidify our wedding cake of our dreams. Maricela was our cake designer and her expertise didn't go unseen. Our guests at our wedding were BLOWN AWAY with how good the cake was and continue to rave about it to us! After our wedding, we had some guest tell us that they were making bets thinking the cake was fake that's how perfect it was executed! Cannot wait til our 1st anniversary when we get to have this delicious cake once again! Thank you it's all about the cake for such a memorable experience. Cake Flavors = layered snickerdoodle & vanilla Filling = tres leches Icing = buttercream YUMMMMMM

This is my second time ordering a custom cake from Nicole, and her team of bakers and designers excellently and faithfully recreated the birthday cake I had in mind for my friend. I cannot be anymore happier of how the cake came out. For the team at It's All About The Cake, people like Roy and others are so welcoming and nice, they make the trip from Long Beach to Dana Point worth it every single time. This is definitely my go-to place to order custom cakes!

From the initial meeting to the final product, I will be dreaming about my wedding cake for the next year!! It was so amazing, so delicious, so beautiful and had the perfect about of decoration to fit our wedding style. Recommendation: have photos, and taste everything. Also plan for communication to be strictly via email. Also, ask your venue for ANY/ALL LEFTOVERS.

We loved how our daughter's wedding cake turned out. Tasted great and the cake tasting process was first class. We also used them for my other daughter's wedding shower, macrons for the win!

Let me tell you about the cake that we enjoyed from, Its all about the cake. We were planning a vacation in Laguna Beach and wanted to have a cake made for a friend who has her birthday on Easter. The owner of a local Laguna restaurant recommended this bakery, and helped facilitate our request, by placing the order for us. The cake was perfectly made with pastel Easter colors. Dark chocolate and light yellow cake layers were separated by a fruit layer and creamy frosting layers. The frosting was very nice... Not overly sweet. The cake was very moist, fresh & beyond tasty!!! Great Quality ... Highly recommend!

Most recently, they made a custom cake for my nephew, and my whole family absolutely loved it! It was beautiful, exactly what we were hoping for, and tasted just as good as it looked. The baker is incredibly talented, and you can tell a lot of care went into making it. I've also been here on separate occasions for brunch, and the food has always been delicious. The staff has always taken such great care of us and made us feel welcome. I especially love supporting family-owned small businesses, and this is the kind of place I'm happy to come back to. Thank you for the beautiful cake, the delicious food, and the wonderful service!

As an example, I have had some incredible meals here, where the food quality, food prep and presentation, were all stellar. So far so good, right? But I can go back with friends a week later and order the exact same dishes and they come out COMPLETELY different and horrible in every way. I've had inedible food served to me that should have never left the kitchen. Likewise, I can come one day and get good, friendly service and I can come the next day, stand in line for 30 minutes and get bad attitudes and total chaos. Unfortunately the latter seems more common. This is all disappointing, especially from a catering company. I would never hire them for catering because of this. You'd think they would have a recipe book and train anyone to cook and prepare dishes the proper way. Consistency is extremely important in the food service industry. You'd also think after all these years, they could solve their staffing and scheduling issues. The most common excuse I hear from the cafe staff is that they had a catering gig that day and all the staff are off doing that, leaving the cafe in chaos, where it seems like the dishwasher is doing the cooking. Finally, as MANY other customers have mentioned here, the ambience is utterly ruined by the LOUD obnoxious MUSIC playing on the outdoor speakers. This seems to be for the benefit of the staff and absolutely ruins what could be a very unique and peaceful courtyard patio setting. We can hardly have a conversation out there. Everyone I've brought here says the same thing. There's a reason restaurants offer indoor and outdoor seating. People who choose to sit outside want to talk and want a quieter atmosphere. Here's a solution: Play what you want INSIDE the cafe, in which case the open doors would allow music to waft outside a little, but PLEASE turn the outside speakers off, as they are completely unnecessary. If you insist on playing music outside, PLEASE get rid of the pounding nightclub music (which makes zero sense at 1PM) and please play something soft and jazzy AT A VERY LOW VOLUME. We are the locals. We are your regulars. Please listen to our concerns. You have the potential to be one of the best 5 star spots in this area, but for now it's 2.5 stars.

They have cookies with fillings! And also some shakes and "dirty drinks" (flavored sodas). They have classic cookie options on the menu all the time and several cookie types that rotate weekly. I purchased two cookies and a drink. They have a couple tables inside but I decided to take the cookies home and enjoy the drink on the road. The two cookies I chose were the chocolate chip and the cookies & cream plus the Coco-Loco as my drink. The Coco-Loco is best described as a coconut Coke. It was fantastic, way better than I expected. I appreciated the finely ground ice in the bottom portion of the cup. My pet peeve is when places fill the cup to the top with ice and your drink is gone in three sips but here they provide just enough to keep it cold and refreshing. The cookies are presented in their own box and are large. They are soft cookies but ever-so-slightly crisp on the outside with soft fillings. The chocolate chip cookie had a filling that was essentially chocolate chip cookie dough. It was incredibly delicious and I would definitely get this one again. The cookies & cream had what tasted like Oreo frosting inside and was very good. It was a bit messier as it has crumbles on top and also the weight of the filling caused the soft cookie to fall apart, which one must be conscious of when eating these cookies. It's actually easier to eat when it's in a few pieces. Being a cookie-lover, I find what they have here to be better than what you get at other well-known cookie stores.

I'd heard reservations were needed, but we went without one and only waited five minutes to be seated. Our food was excellent and the staff was very accommodating with my two year old grandson. We also learned a bit of food history: although Caesar salad is often thought of as Italian, it was actually created in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1924 by Italian immigrant restaurateur Caesar Cardini. We ordered the pizza, choosing from three different crusts. I especially liked the square and sesame crusts. Our favorites were the sweet-and-spicy pizza and the Mike's Honey pizza, both had great flavor combinations. Dessert was a bit more hit-or-miss for me.
