The best service we've ever had from a repairperson! Our dryer started squealing, so I phoned our previous repair guy, but he had retired. He referred us to Alan, who called me back less than hour after I left a message. He diagnosed the problem correctly over the phone, and gave us an app't the next morning. He showed up right on time with the right part, and fixed it in no time! Then, doing a trial run, he noticed the plug was super-hot (which I had kind of noticed) and discovered the aluminum wiring had corroded and the plug was close to melting. He had to go to his next client, but came BACK afterwards with a new plug and socket, and fixed that too...and charged us for only one home visit! Fast, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, affordable, and our problem(s) were fixed in under 24 hours! was my first time using Alan & his company Better Home Services & what a positive & stress-free experience I had! Alan was the repair person assigned by my home warranty company to work on my ice maker & glass stove top, as both (I thought) were on the fritz. This stove is about 6 years old & not purchased by us. Alan took the time to demonstrate how the glass stove top elements work, thus finding it is working perfectly! Unfortunately my stove top cooking experience has been with gas stoves & burners only. Thank you Alan for opening my eyes! He also spent a good hour working on our Whirlpool ice maker, cleaning out the tray properly & checking all the necessary parts to allow for the dispensing of the ice. Again, we did not purchase this 7-8 year old fridge & are not about to buy a new one till absolutely necessary. He ordered the motor for the ice maker, cleaned up beautifully & assured me he would be back to install the part as soon as it came in. Well, 10 AM (less than 24 hours later) he arrived with the motor, installed it within a few minutes, chatted with us for a bit & was on his way! We have always purchased Sears appliances in all our homes & always called them for service under our warranties; however, no technician has ever done the job that Alan did on these 2 days. worst experience ever, the guy called is very very very rude and didn't even let me speak. he interrupted me and what he said contradicted, he confused himself and myself. first, it took them almost 3 days to call me back to schedule first appointment and our appointment is scheduled on Monday. then right 3 days before Monday, he called me and said he couldn't come on Monday because monday is holiday, and then i told him MOnday is not, he was like oh, if not, he can come. then i was totally confused by him and asked if he sure he can come or not, if he coudln't come on MOnday, i will call fidelity; he was like "ohk, you just call fidelity and I will call fidelity as well" and he just hang up my phone. never ever recommend this to anyone. and it took them 3 days to call me back after i called fidelity service.
