Very disappointing experience. I ordered the Perfection Roll, and it did not taste fresh at all. A few hours after eating it, I became extremely sick and spent the entire night vomiting. Food safety and freshness should be a top priority, especially when serving raw fish. I found out about this place through a Yelp event in 2025 and went to brunch with some friends to check it out. The food was so freaking good! I would eat here often if I lived around the area. The only thing that I didn't like was the Lomo Saltado Eggrolls. Didn't really taste bad but didn't have the uniqueness the other to dishes had. I got bottomless sangria and it was worth every penny. I'm a sweets kinda guy so it was right up my alley with the red and white sangria. Of you've ever ate at Pisco y Nazca, it is similar in that experience. I visited on Monday, March 30th at around 3:30 PM during happy hour. The restaurant was empty, so I initially went to sit at the bar. A staff member behind the bar (a gentleman with glasses) informed me that the bar was closed and that we needed to sit elsewhere. After seating ourselves near the bar, we were then told we couldn't order drinks because he was about to begin inventory. This was both confusing and frustrating, especially during advertised happy hour. Inventory seems like something that should be handled before opening or after closing not while guests are being turned away. He even suggested we go somewhere else for drinks and did not come across as apologetic. I was able to enjoy the chicken and waffles, the chicken was perfectly crisp. I loved that the maple syrup had a lime ají (spice). It really gave it a nice twist on chicken and waffles. The waffles were also sweet potato which was different but good. The other plate I tried were the eggs with potatoes which were okay. The cocktails were good! I really enjoyed the lychee martini. My friend ordered the lychee margarita and it honestly tasted terrible, too strong and not well balanced unfortunately. Come on now.... You have to be pretty confident to name your restaurant after a signature dish. That is especially true when it's something like ceviche. I had my doubts. It wasn't very busy... But it is a Monday. When you first sit down, the restaurant might be a little confusing. The menus seems to have a lot going on and unless you are familiar with Peruvian food, you might throw up your hands and wanna walk away. Don't. Because this food is incredible. For dishes, we ordered a shrimp ceviche in their signature sauce ... fried mahi-mahi bites... and a crispy rice topped with spicy salmon. For the drink, I got some mango chili pepper thing --- The mango chili pepper drink was incredible. It was, at times, sweet and juicy... Hot... And salty... I wanted another one, but I have to pace myself this week.. but it is definitely worthy of more than one... The mahi-mahi bites were covered in pickled onions, which cut the richness of the fried dish... the fried yucca also added a great flavor element. The sauce on the bottom of the plate made the dish worthwhile. The fried crispy rice was an out of body experience I was thinking... Am I really eating this now... Is it really that good? It seemed to be an amalgam of styles from Bobby Flay and Jet Tilla from the food network. I did not try the ceviche, but Vik said it was a ten out of ten. She offered me a taste of it, but I felt guilty because she seemed to be enjoying it so much that I didn't try it. There is outdoor seating if you wanna sit outside in the warmth... This was our choice... People will walk by, but everyone moves at their own pace and rhythm and there is enough privacy to have a great meal and a good romantic time if you choose to do so. I love the concept of SuViche and would love to see them return some of the previous options to the menu! I was looking at menu pictures on Yelp which were only a few months old, but a lot of the vegan/vegetarian options they previously had have been removed, which was a shame to see. Some of them seemed very interesting! Regardless, we still had a good time at SuViche. My favorite was the Plantain Roll. We also got the Gardener Roll, which was also good but tasted like a pretty typical garden roll despite the more interesting ingredients. I wasn't crazy about my drink, the Blueberry Thyme. It was a beautiful-looking drink but seemed a little unbalanced. It was overpoweringly limey and I couldn't really taste the blueberry or thyme (or pisco). From their gorgeous walls to their hanging egg chairs and swings, they give off the perfect date night vibe. It's been a few years since I had SuViche and even then it was at another location so this location really wow'ed me. I didn't know what I wanted to eat so I ordered a few things that sparked my interest. The food here is a 9/10. Delicious! The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is because I had an issue - there was a prominent strand of hair in my mahi mahi ceviche. When I told someone, they did not apologize. I told them I just wanted it removed and taken off the check. She asked if I wanted a remake and I said no. I then continued to enjoy the rest of my food. I really enjoyed the light chips they served alongside the tasty salmon tartare. This is something I would order again. My date and I also devoured the bang bang roll. I loved that they placed the shrimp on top instead of inside the roll. Last, I had the lomo saltado bowl with udon noodles. It was overly sauced but had a good flavor. The ratio was off. There were far more noodles than there were of steak tenderloin pieces. But a solid dinner. When the check came, my boyfriend paid it immediately. After he paid it, I asked if they removed the ceviche and he said he didn't check. Long story short, they didn't. They didn't apologize or seem to care enough to remove it off the check for us. It was completely salty. Very very salty. I'm not exaggerating. I immediately asked to return it to the kitchen so they can prepare it better. And actually spicy for the next one. Waited a few more minutes and when the second dish came, the fish was covered in a red sauce and completely flavorless. Just the name alone sounded fantastic There were three of us, so we got to share several different rolls. Wish I could remember all of the names...SORRY! I did take great pictures though. The ceviche for happy hour ($7) is plentiful and satisfying, albeit a little overly salty, and the tataki is syrupy, savory and citrusy, with great texture from crushed peanuts and smooth avocado slices. The aji de gallina bombs are warm, crispy, rich and cheesy, with a great combination of shredded chicken and rice inside. The inside is always fun to sit in because of the basket swings that they have hanging next to tables and in the back. There's no doubt you've taken or seen someone take a photo sitting in those swings. They have $5 wines and sake and $7 cocktails, mainly Pisco sours.
