I hate to post negative reviews, and hopefully, mine was a one-off experience, but it wasn't very good. Before traveling to Temple, I picked this place based on its menu and reviews. I arrived and placed an order for a Cappuccino and French Toast with sausage. The waitress had to return to my table to be reminded that I ordered sausage vs.bacon. It took 15 minutes to bring the Cappuccino. Thirty minutes after placing my food order and seeing others being served who came in after me, I asked about my French toast. Two waiters seemed to debate who was supposed to enter my order. Then, one waiter brought me a "to go" bag even though I was dining in. I told her I was dining in, and she took the order back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, she brought me an order with 1 and 1/2 pieces of French Toast with two sausage patties. Nothing about the meal was a standout. I could have gotten better French Toast at Denny's. Very average. As I said, I hope my situation was unusual. Return and not apologize for the wait. Don't check to see if during the over 45 minute wait a coffee refill is needed. I'm rewriting my review because I will admit my previous one was too harsh. Food was over priced for what it is and plates are very plain. There's no kids meal options. Food took long to come out. As far as price goes, we didn't wanna just get up and leave after seeing the prices because we wanted to give the food a chance to speak for itself but the pancakes ended up being too chewy for our liking. French toast was good though. We ate most of our food because we waited a long time for it and we were hungry. Yes the place is cute and my kids enjoyed the atmosphere but it did feel awkward for me and my husband for other reasons. This means I showed up at the restaurant 20 minutes before closing but everybody was super friendly and the food was delicious! I've been wanting to try this diner for some time as I am always on the hunt for good coffee and food I had it saved in my places to go. Being my sons birthday we made the 35 minute trip to visit this cute shop. The decor is adorable and inviting. The wait staff however left something to be desired; the server we had wasn't very friendly, I almost felt as though she didn't want to take care of our table, we had a party of six. I was hoping that she would warm up eventually after taking our drink order. My feelings of that changed once the owner herself came around to check on us and personally take our food order. We announced we were there celebrating a birthday and she instantly made our visit special with her presence. She checked on us often and shared with us the story of her mother making homemade pies for her birthday. We enjoyed the personal engagement she gave to us along with her servant leadership to take care of all of her customers. The food spoke for itself. The French toast plates were amazing, the All American plate with perfect eggs and a beautiful Monte Christo, next time I'll hold the fries so I can finish my sandwich instead of taking it home. My little daughter had the grilled cheese kids meal, it was a little too toasty for her liking but she loved the fries and she's picky about fries. The portions were perfect.
