Friendly staff, basic menu, good coffee. Nothing fancy, but I like it. A peaceful spot. They said they will have soup soon. Good sandwiches.

They serve a large variety of coffees and teas, etc. and many people show up just for the drinks. They also serve a decent breakfast, though the options are limited, as well as soup, salad, and sandwiches (though we were there for breakfast) Still, for a coffee shop breakfast where you order at the counter, $40 isn't cheap, which is what ours ran to. My Hope Mountain breakfast came with scrambled eggs which were good with a garnish, the sausage (apparently deep fried), the potatoes (cubes, also apparently deep fried) were OK but not great, marbled rye toast of the kind of bread you'd get in a grocery store - nothing special. You can choose bacon or sausage, kind of toast, and scrambled, or fried as you like -- so perfectly adequate, not a special breakfast out. My partner got bubble tea and the mega breakfast sandwich - essentially a bagel with omelette-like egg, tomato, cheese, and avocado. Both the tea and the sandwich were fine. But I do want to be clear -- this is a coffee house, not a sit-down restaurant. It is busy, and you kind of fend for yourself. The fact that they make breakfast or sandwiches in the back doesn't turn this into a restaurant with table service.

Latte was large and beautiful, but I didn't like the flavor of the coffee very much. The service…read morewas quick and delivered to counter facing window and park. Nice place to relax, clean with various places to sit. However, there was no public restroom, which was 1/2 the reason I went.

I wanted to like Cultivate more than I did. But I think I'd give them a solid 3.5 stars, and here's…read morewhy. Firstly, it's a really cute space. Cafes attached to garden stores are such a vibe, and it was quite spacious as well. The service was friendly too! The food was alright. I really liked the tomato jam on the breakfast sandwich, and the pork belly was quite tender, but I found that it was lacking in variety of texture and didn't quite have the punches of flavor I was hoping for. The veggie hash was also not super memorable--I wished the potatoes had been crispier or had more color/flavor. The patio area outside was nice to sit in for the morning, however, so it wouldn't be a bad place to have an iced coffee after perusing the plants if you were already in the area.

They have lots of vegan options, so this is what attracted us to the place. I got the vegan hash ($13 plus tax) and my wife got the vegan sandwich ($12.50 plus tax). The food came out in 10 minutes. The vegan hash was pretty solid. Lots of potatoes provide the base, accompanied by tofu, spinach, cherry tomatoes, red pepper and onions, and dressed with a red pepper coulis. I would have liked a larger portion, as I was hungry again a couple hours later, but I was happy with the quality -- and it was a pretty healthy dish. 4/5 My wife also enjoyed her vegan sandwich, which was pretty simply, but came on nice bread and had enough interesting things on it to be satisfying. The accompanying slaw was also quite nice. 3.5/5 The service was extremely nice -- they gave us a free vegan Nanaimo bar (quite tasty) because a bit of the sandwich fell onto the table as the server placed in down. Solid spot. I'd return when in Chilliwack.

Pull apart was lighter than I expected. Other place's pull apart was so buttery, cheesy, however, this one was flaky and buttery, so, if you prefer light texture pull apart, you will like it. Cream cheese filling was nice accent. Pistachio loaf was more dense than I expected. It had pistachio whipped cream on top, so, cream helped loaf texture more smooth. Loaf had strong pistachio flavor. I liked whipped cream and loaf combination. Pesto and mozzalera swirl was a bit too salty for me. Dough was super flaky and buttery, I liked the dough texture so much, but filling could be more minder. Unfortunately, I did not have ferrero rocher danish. I heard that this one was the best. Mousse was so delicious and dough was very flaky and buttery. Overall, I think their pastries are always outstanding and good quality. The place was extremely busy and could not get a table. Next time, I wish I could dine-in.
