Good repair shop. We take our Volvo XC90 there for repairs. Fair pricing: we have never had to get it re-repaired. Maintenance parts are new or remanufactured. On one occasion, the climate control had to be replaced, not available as new or remanufactured (vehicle is 18 years old)' so they sourced it from a wrecking yard. That was overcthree years ago, still going strong. Very resourceful shop! Highly recommend them. read more

An update to my last review. My Volvo is still running strong with several thousand miles of steep mountain roads and daily city driving. However, my girlfriend's Subaru's transmission went out. Not to fear, Vlad and is crew sourced a used transmission, installed it, and had the car returned to us in two days, for $500 less than any other quote and even $100 less than his initial quote. The work was done quickly, in fact one day; Rear brake job, rotors calipers etc. alternator replacement & associated parts, went out the day before and replaced all boots. Bought a car from Brian last year. Should have known when it died in the first few days. Vlad quickly repaired the vehicle, though it could have been the beginning of a car repair relationship. The car has been into multiple shops for problem after problem. I feel like it was put up for sale by Brian and Vlad without a real check out. Besides the fact that this "one owner, clean car" has an airbag sticker dated several years after date of car manufacture--didn't discover this until recently. Probably a perfectly fine auto shop. I have doubts on the integrity of the car sales. read more

Avoid like the plague! Took my Saab in for a super routine drive belt change and their mechanic broke the tensioner off of the engine block. Their fix was adding a flimsy bolt, probably not even a Grade 8 bolt, and 2 springs. Ended up donating the vehicle for charity proceeds as they rendered my car completely unsafe to drive :(( Do yourself a favor and don't let these guys anywhere near your car! read more

I was skeptical buying a SAAB in the first place but the car had already had everything repaired or replaced that could be except the radiator, so I thought why not give it a try, after all it drives like a luxury car for the price of an economy car. Then the radiator began to leak, although I did not have enough time to identify where the leak was coming from. Water got on the serpentine belt it began to shred and come apart, a fragment of the belt knocked off the vacuum hose causing the car to act like the timing belt had slipped a tooth or worse, the engine could have been shot? I towed it to Vlad's shop (SAAB & VOLVO by Mats) and explained the sequence of events. He asked me to give him a day and he would check it out. I expected a call from Vlad asking which wrecking yard I wanted it towed to. The next day Vlad called to say it was the radiator and serpentine belt, he gave me a price for the parts and labor separately. I have a few connections in the parts industry so I checked around to find that I could not save enough to make it worth my while to supply my own parts so I had him take care of the repair and the parts. Later that day the car was ready to be picked up! I know cars, yet I had missed diagnosed the problem and anyone could have told me it was the timing belt (a pretty big job) and taken me down the path to the woodshed but Vlad was honest and fair, something that's hard to find in a shop these days. I hope I don't have any more problems but if I do, the only place I will take the car is to Vlad. If you own a SAAB or VOLVO you will need a shop you can rely on, I recommend Saab & Volvo by Mats! read more

My Honda Odyssey 2001 died last Friday after going through a car wash. I was able to get it to Saab & Volvo where Russ checked it out (with their computer) and said that maybe something had gotten damp, or that it may be a problem with the catalytic converter. Since the van has 170,000 miles on it that wasn't a big surprise. I limped it home and took it back on Monday for Vlad to diagnose. Vlad drove it around, checked the catalytic converter and pronounced it o.k. to drive. When I picked it up there was NO CHARGE!!! I would have happily paid for their time, but they refused. I guarantee that I will take my van here first when I need service. Thank-you Russ and Vlad for being both kind and honest! read more

We have an XC90 V-8 with a leaking exhaust manifold. Firestone did the diagnosis but didn't have the tools to fix and referred me to a dealer. I called around for pricing. I was surprised to learn most shops didn't have the tools. The dealer told me I had to replace both the intake and exhaust manifolds at the same time and quoted me $1,300. Vlad had the tools, quoted me $560 and, when I came to pick up the car, charged me only $520. That was several months ago. Now I'm going back for my next repair. read more
