We returned to SW again and really enjoyed the experience! This is definitely a high-end steakhouse on the strip and is located in the Wynn hotel. Reservations are highly recommended! The interior is very plus, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive throughout. Water glasses were constantly refilled, and the server folded your napkin if you left the table to use the restroom. A nice touch! I had the "luxe" lychee martini which was perfect - balanced and ice cold. We also had some complimentary pretzel bread, but I miss the assorted bread basket they used to do. We had the chilled jumbo shrimp entree which was delicious and was accompanied with three different sauces including a classic cocktail sauce. We also split a ceasar salad which was fresh and tasty and seemed to have a classic dressing. For an entree we had the pepper-crusted chateaubriand. I thought this was delicious and amazingly tender! We tried several side dishes. I was sad to see they don't have the lyonnaise potatoes or the potato rosti that I used to love here. We had the prime rib tater tots, mushrooms, broccoli, and parmesan truffle fries. The tater tots were the highlight. They were perfectly crisp outside and had a wonderful fluffy interior. The broccoli and mushrooms were also very tasty. I did not care for the fries as the truffle flavor was just too much for me. For dessert I had the souffle. Although it's labeled as "for sharing," it was rather small and easily served just one person. It was delicious and featured rich chocolate flavor and lacked the "eggy" flavor you get from poorly prepared souffles. The food was mediocre overall. The steaks weren't anything special. I'm honestly not sure how it's possible to make an octopus dish underwhelming, but they managed to do it. While the grilled octopus itself was tender, the sauce just didn't work. The ravioli, on the other hand, was unexpectedly good. The sauce was absolutely divine and easily the highlight of the meal. The steaks were just okay. I actually visited about 15 years ago, and if I remember correctly, I had the same impression back then. The service was excellent, and the ambiance is incredibly romantic, especially with the view of the Lake of Dreams. Those two alone are enough to earn this place 4 stars. I've been to SW Steakhouse a few times, but I honestly didn't realize how difficult it can be to get a reservation especially during a holiday weekend. Knowing we were going to be spending 4th of July in Las Vegas, I tried booking about a month and a half in advance through OpenTable, but there was absolutely no availability. I was notified that additional reservations could possibly open up seven days before our desired date, but unfortunately I waited too long and checked about four days before our trip... and everything was completely booked. We were staying at Wynn/Encore and originally had reservations at another steakhouse across the Strip, but traffic was completely stopped and we knew making it on time was not looking promising. We canceled and decided to take our chances at SW. To our surprise, even though the restaurant was fully committed, they have a great bar area with plenty of seating options not just seats at the bar, but also smaller tables for two and four. Of course, it's not the full booth-style dining experience, but honestly, our service was absolutely amazing and we still felt completely taken care of. We ordered the 36 oz bone-in ribeye to share, along with mashed potatoes and mushrooms , and everything was cooked perfectly. I also had a lemon drop martini that was amazing. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere everything was exactly what you expect from Wynn. Wynn/Encore never disappoints. I'm so glad we decided to shoot our shot because we ended up having such a great dinner experience. I really felt fancy when I walked in and believe this may be one of the best restaurants I have been to concerning fanciness. . Now for the food, the seafood tower was great! I had high expectations for SW Steakhouse at the Wynn, but unfortunately the service fell well short of what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The evening actually started off well. The server handling our beverages was attentive, friendly, and kept our drinks filled despite it being a busy Saturday night. No complaints there. The problems started after our food order was taken. Our food server took our order, stopped by once for a quick "How is everything?" shortly after the food arrived, and then essentially disappeared. After finishing dinner, our party of four sat with empty plates for at least 20 minutes without anyone checking on us. By this point, the restaurant had noticeably cleared out. What made it more frustrating was that I saw our food server look over at our table and say something to the drink server during this long stretch. It genuinely felt like he had no interest in coming back to our table. We were a party of four with a bill of around $450, and the level of attention we received simply didn't match the setting. Eventually, the drink server returned with the dessert menu. We believed we had ordered the crème brûlée through him, but somewhere there was a miscommunication and he thought we were still deciding. Then...nothing. Another 30 to 40 minutes passed without anyone returning. Finally, a woman came by, (my impression was because we'd been seated well beyond our allotted dining time) and asked if we wanted dessert. I explained that we had been waiting because we thought our dessert order had already been placed, and that this was now the second extended period where no one had checked on us. She apologized and entered the order. At that point, I assumed things would improve, especially after we had explained what had happened. Unfortunately, they didn't. Our desserts were delivered, but once again no one came back to check on us. Another 25 to 30 minutes passed before I had to ask someone to get a manager. As the manager walked over, I watched him stop and speak with both of our servers while they looked toward our table. When he arrived, I jokingly said, "Well, I know you've already been briefed." He denied it, saying they were discussing another table. Maybe that was true, but from where we were sitting, it certainly didn't appear that way. I explained the entire experience from start to finish. To his credit, he apologized and comped three drinks and one dessert, which I appreciated. However, while the gesture was nice, it didn't change the overall experience. The disappointing part is that a week earlier we had a dinner at an Outback Steakhouse, where a young server provided similar service (which I said at the time that's what you would expect from a outback) . I never expected to leave SW Steakhouse at the Wynn feeling like the service experience was comparable, or arguably worse. For a restaurant with SW's reputation and pricing, you're paying for more than just excellent food. You're paying for exceptional hospitality. Unfortunately, that's not what we received. Finally made it to SW Steakhouse after many trips to Vegas, and I genuinely cannot believe I waited this long. This was easily one of the best meals I have had in Vegas, and I will absolutely be back. We had a reservation but did not request an outdoor table. Once we arrived and saw how beautiful the patio was, we asked if we could get an outdoor table and let them know we were fine waiting. We were quoted about 30 minutes, but it ended up being much quicker, which was such a great start to the night. The outdoor ambiance is exactly what you want in Vegas--lively but still intimate, with strong heaters for cooler nights and a stunning waterfall show known as the "Lake of Dreams," which plays every 30 minutes starting at sunset. It really complements the high-end dining experience and makes the whole night feel special. Dinner was incredible. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the lobster blossoms, oysters, Caesar salad, 12 oz filet, salmon, short rib ravioli, wild mushrooms, mac and cheese, fries, and the Rocky Road dessert. Our server, Antonio, suggested ordering several items as half portions (which most restaurants don't offer) which made it so easy to try a little bit of everything. The Caesar salad is huge--easily enough for four people. The filet was cooked perfectly, and Antonio even brought out a trio of complimentary dipping sauces, although it was great on its own. The short rib ravioli was a standout. I was not a huge fan of the lobster blossoms since I am not big on deep-fried foods, but I still do not regret trying them. At the end of our meal, Antonio noticed that we did not touch the salmon and offered to box it up. When we said no thank you because it was a bit too oily for our taste, he went ahead and removed it from the bill without us even asking, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really speaks to the level of service here. They also serve complimentary pretzel bread and butter, which was so good. The birthday dessert is on the smaller side, so we upgraded to the Rocky Road, and it was 100% worth it. I was with business partners, a total of 5 of us on this dinner. I have been fortunate enough to sample many various offerings in the resort corridor over the years and SW Steakhouse achieved a new low. We had a reservation at 7:30pm, checked in 5 minutes late but not a full restaurant so all was well. The Wynn Hotel usually sets the standard for fine cuisine and they rarely disappoint. On this particular evening they managed to disappoint to a new low, actually very impressively, as we saw a server twice in almost 2 hours. That leaves empty glasses with less revenue on the table no doubt. The mains (5) steaks came out after 1 hour and 45 minutes. An astonishing poor performance for this brand that we wondered if the kitchen was closed. The food was fine when it finally came, good taste, cooked as specified, and all of the sides were ok. The ambiance of the restaurant itself was ok, clean, well stocked restrooms, no issues there. However, the service here is on par with a Golden Corral, or less than that brand. If you want some good quality meat, SW Steakhouse has the best steak around! The Bone-In Rib Eye was amazing! The meat has been aged and procured from the finest Midwestern ranchers. It was perfectly cooked (medium), tender yet juicy and charred to give it a unique flavor. Definitely the best Rib Eye I have ever had! The Baby Beet Salad and Complimentary Bread were really good starters. Besides the steaks and chops, SW had some delicious sides (big enough to share) and my favorite was the Maine Lobster Sardinian Gnocchi. Different from your average gnocchi but good and paired well with a steak. Also enjoyed the cocktails and if you come after 8pm, expect short shows every half hour on the lake! Dinner and a show, who can complain? The Singing Frog is what the restaurant is known for so well that they even have a beer named after it which is bomb! Overall amazing experience! Finally back after 8 years and everything is still excellent. Hubby and I came to SW for our 8th year anniversary. I made reservations online a few weeks before our visit and we were seated right away when we arrived. All the waiters were very courteous and attentive. We enjoyed: Bread basket: 5/5 the three complimentary types of breads were fresh and warm. Pretzel was my fav. Pink sangria: 4/5 pretty tasty! Lychee martini: 3/5 this was ok, kinda sweet Tomato salad: 5/5 light and refreshing Cowboy ribeye: 5/5 cooked to perfection. I was able to finish about 3/4 of it. Our waiter said he was impressed. Just celebrated my birthday last Night at SW Steakhouse. It's a beautiful restaurant; however the food and service did not match that same standard. Ordered the 9 oz filet mignon medium-rare Oscar Style along with 1/2 orders of lobster mac n cheese, creamed spinach and instead of having the crab oyster Rockefeller as an appetizer, ordered it as a side dish instead. My filet looked great but it was cooked rare instead of medium rare. The king crab oscar topping was delicious - wasn't worth the $65 price as the steak it accompanied was not prepared properly. Also, the crab oyster Rockefeller was not hot - it was lukewarm as if they had prepared it to be served as an appetizer instead of the side as requested and let it sit til my waiter brought it out with my entree. It had great flavor except it was not hot. The lobster mac n cheese was good and the creamed spinach was excellent. For being such a highly rated restaurant, I was surprised that I wasn't asked how my meal was after it was brought to my table - any other restaurant I've gone to, the waiter or a manager would ask. Within a few moments of my table being cleared, the waiter had a brief argument with the person who had cleared it (their voices were low but could see the body language and arm gestures). When I made the reservation, I noted it was my Bday and the hostess confirmed it with me when I checked in. However, this was either not relayed to my waiter or he didn't bother to look at his notes. After ordering the Bananas Foster cheesecake, I reminded the waiter to bring it out with a candle. But when it was brought out, there was no candle on the plate nor a Happy Birthday written on it. How is this place only rated 4.1 stars on Yelp? We have dined at SW several times over the years, from intimate anniversary dinners to a family Thanksgiving meal. Every visit the service, ambience, wine and cocktails, and most importantly the food have all been on point. I have zero critiques for SW. Please keep doing exactly what you have been doing, it is a perfect equation. Let's start with the appetizers. The Grilled Spanish Octopus was one of the best versions I have had outside of Barcelona itself. I also highly recommend the Crispy Lobster Zucchini Blossoms. Both are must-order dishes. If you love steak, get the bone-in ribeye. It is my ideal steak cut, with great marbling and fat content and the bone for extra flavor. You simply cannot go wrong, and their execution is perfection. My medium rare came out exactly right. The sides are just as strong. The SW fries were honestly the best french fries I have ever had. The creamed spinach is classic and very well done. For diner I ordered the Dry Aged Bone in New York steak with the white cheddar, fontina & Gruyère Mac and Cheese.Our steak was cooked to perfection medium rear! The service was friendly but they were definitely more attentive to certain tables. Likely a little profiling going on to try and maximize tips. Food was good but not amazing. As you would expect, the prices are on the higher side for what you get but this is to be expected when dining at an upscale restaurant on the strip and was comparable to most other restaurants of the same level here. We moved to Las Vegas last Dec. after visiting every 2 months for years. We have eaten in the most expensive restaurants here, but this was the worst experience we have ever had. We had a 6pm reservation to celebrate my husband's retirement (which I stated in the reservation). We were taken to outside seating which I did not request when it was 106 degrees outside. They gave us a table inside, but never assigned a server to the table. We waited over 20 minutes for a server ( we actually had to ask for someone). I was dressed to the nines. I went to speak to the manager who didn't care about our service and he did nothing. We ordered a bottle of wine and the sommelier looked shocked when we asked him to decant the red wine. After ordering appetizers we were told that the kitchen was running 45 minutes behind although the restaurant had only been open for an hour. My dover sole dinner ($105) was overcooked and the melted butter it was supposed to be served in was chunks of butter around the fish. My husband's filet mignon was average. There was nothing to celebrate the occasion of his retirement. The $500 dinner ( no dessert ordered) before tip was a great disappointment. I visit Las Vegas multiple times a year, and I was genuinely excited to try this place at the time. Despite all the amazing dining options in Vegas, this is one restaurant I've consistently avoided recommending because of how we were treated. From the moment we sat down, the service felt noticeably different compared to the tables around us. It genuinely felt like we were being judged, and even though we were dressed appropriately and not casual at all, it seemed like we didn't fit what they considered their typical customer (if you know, you know). Because of that, the service we received felt subpar. Other tables received attentive and friendly service. Staff checked in often, offered suggestions, and made sure everything was taken care of. Our experience was the opposite. We were largely ignored, no one checked on us, and no one asked if we needed anything. When we did try to ask for recommendations, the responses felt dismissive and unfriendly. I've honestly never experienced anything like that at a restaurant before. It left such a sour impression that even years later, I still think about it. Anytime someone asks me for restaurant recommendations in Vegas or I come across this place, it's an easy no for me. As for the food, it was good, but not memorable enough to make up for the experience. The filet mignon was solid, but nothing spectacular. One of the main draws is the water show, but we were seated in a spot where we couldn't really see it, and the show itself felt shorter than expected. I debated posting this after so much time, but the fact that I still think about it says a lot. I just hope future guests are treated more equally and with the level of service everyone deserves. We came to SW Steakhouse at the Wynn to celebrate my grandma's 80th birthday, and honestly, it was an experience we will never forget. After a rough dinner the night before at Four Sixes Ranch, we had low expectations, but SW completely exceeded every single one. From the moment we were seated, we were treated like royalty. They even gave us a mini chair for our purses, which is such a thoughtful touch. There were at least five staff members attending to us at all times, servers, assistants, and managers, all perfectly coordinated. Not a single moment went by without someone checking in, refilling drinks, or offering to help. The level of attentiveness was astounding. Our drinks were amazing, creative, perfectly balanced, and delivered with flair. The steak was, without exaggeration, cooked to absolute perfection. My grandma's steak was exactly medium well, finally, after our previous dinner disaster, and every other steak at our table was flawless. The sides were incredible, rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The dessert was INSANE. The complimentary mini birthday cake blew us away. We brought candles and they happily set them up for us, making my grandma's birthday extra special. The complimentary bread was warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious, the perfect start to the meal. The attention to detail went beyond the food. The ambiance was sophisticated yet comfortable, and every staff member anticipated our needs before we even realized them. Even the little touches, like refilling our water glasses instantly or presenting dishes at exactly the right moment, made everything feel seamless and effortless. Short Review- Extremely overpriced, this place is not for people who are looking for the best food from a steakhouse in vegas even though they charge like it. This place is good if you are trying to impress someone with ambiance and luxurious levels of service, perhaps a date night or something like that. Longer Review Ambiance- This is where this place shines. We sat out on the patio as it was a gorgeous evening, the vibes were immaculate and the scenery pulls you out of vegas with the lake, greenery and waterfall with the show. Truly unrivaled in this department. Service- The service was top notch, the waiting staff definitely go above and beyond. Our drinks were never empty, someone was never too far when we needed something, our orders were taken promptly, it does seem like they actually care about you enjoying your time here. There are plenty of little high end touches as well, for example they bring tiny chairs over for your bags. Food- We ordered, a ribeye (medium-rare picture attached), the rosemary chicken, and the salmon, with the Brussel sprouts and potatoes au gratin. The chicken and salmon my party says were fine however I did not get a chance to try them. I ordered the ribeye and it too was just fine. It was about as ordinary of a steak as you can think of, the cook was just barely acceptable, it had pretty large grey banding. They said something about the light on the patio would make it look overcooked, which was accurate, shining a phone flashlight on it reveals the cook not how it appears on the plate. The steak was just extremely bland, no salt or seasoning, would be what I would expect from an outback steakhouse or similar, not a steak that costs over $100. They give you three sauces for the steak, which were okay, I do not think a good steak needs any help, this steak though does benefit from those slightly as it definitely did need some help. The sides were also just fine, being fairly unimpressive and bland. The food just feels like they are playing it as safe as possible. The main problem with the food comes when you factor in its price, you are paying upper echelon pricing, for what I would consider to be average or slightly below average food especially for a steakhouse. Here you are mainly paying for the experience around the food. We did not go because I was looking for ambiance or service, I was recommended this place because of their food and I wanted an excellent steak. We are foodies and have tried a good percentage of the steakhouses in vegas over the years, this place unfortunately doesn't come close to being in the conversation for the best as far as the food is concerned, it may be the best in experience though. read more

We arrived at SW on a Sunday and had the greatest experience. It was my first time going, and I was with a group who had been before. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, and we had a table facing the outside, so we got a great view of the show happening out by the water. Our waiter Anthony was fantastic. Even though it was busy that night, he always made sure we had everything we needed and that we were taken care of. We ordered the tomahawk steak, which was excellent quality and cooked perfectly. We added the Oscar style with asparagus and king crab, and it was a great choice. I'm really glad we shared everything because it was a lot of food. The cream corn brûlée was something new for me and I loved it since it was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The whipped mashed potatoes were creamy and full of flavor, and the king crab tater tots were packed with real chunks of crab and tasted amazing. We also added a Maine Lobster, which was a nice bonus to the meal. We had so many delicious dishes to try at the table, and the portions made it easy to share and even take home leftovers. I came here for my ten year anniversary. Husband and I studied the menu before coming here as we were looking forward to trying it. I want to start off by saying that the service here is definitely 5 stars. We had made a reservation to sit outside by the lake of dreams and they accommodated us. They even offered me a chair for my purse. Love touches like this. We had a waiter and a server dedicated for drinks and for water. We noticed our silverware and plate had stuff stuck to them and they rapidly replaced them. They check in to make sure everything that hits your table is to your liking. The complimentary pretzel bread was warm soft and delicious. Great way to start dinner. We ordered a boneless ribeye medium. The cook on it was good and it came with complimentary sauces such as bbq, horseradish, and smoked chimichurri. The chimichurri was the best one. The sides were ordered were the king crab tots, wild mushrooms, Gruyère Mac and the potatoes au gratin. Out of all the sides, the best one was the king crab tots. The rest were somewhat bland. We ordered the chocolate cookie soufflé to share and it was just okay. The best dessert ended up Being the complimentary truffles. They were delicious! The lake of dreams also was a great addition to dinner. I only give it a 3 because other than the steak, everything else was just okay. I'm still glad we tried this place and maybe other dishes are better but for the price point, I was expecting it everything to have more flavor. The dry-aged New York steak was good, and the banana foster cheesecake was absolutely outstanding the cheesecake was easily the highlight of the meal and the most memorable dish we had all night. On the downside, the mac and cheese was very bland. My girlfriend and I each took one bite and didn't touch the rest. I was also a little surprised that when the dish was cleared nearly full, nobody asked if there was an issue or whether we enjoyed it. The scallop dish wasn't bad, but I wasn't completely sold on the preparation and it just didn't quite hit the mark for us.
