Ordered here back in October 2025 for a delivery. I researched it and the reviews were good. But I'm not so sure. I know that delivered foods doesn't always represent that quality as it's been compromised. So I'll just say that the dishes didn't travel very well. I always come here for the tea and pulao their pulaos are amazing. The rest of the food is okay, not the best but still better compared to many other Indian restaurants in the Dallas area, which has plenty to choose from. Everyone has their own taste, but for me the pulaos and chai here are the highlights. I've been eating here for years and I felt it's finally time to leave a review. Today, I tried the kalakand the Indian dessert and oh my god it was so disappointing. I don't know when it was made but the taste was awful. I couldn't even eat it I ended up throwing it away It completely put me off. The sweets here are really not good. I've always enjoyed the food at Swadesh -- lots of variety and good taste -- but my recent visit left a bad impression because of the service. I ordered a paratha with chicken curry and a biryani. The biryani arrived after about 20 minutes, which is fine, but the paratha and curry still hadn't come even after 25 more minutes. When I asked, I was sent to another section, where they said they were waiting for the curry from yet another section. When I followed up again, the staff member at the counter said, "What can I do, sir?" -- in a tone that felt like she didn't care and was least bothered about what a customer might think. Surprised, I asked her again, "What do you mean?" and she repeated the same answer, in the same attitude: "What can I do, sir?" It's not the delay that upset me -- delays happen -- but the lack of empathy and the audacity of that response. A simple "Sorry, sir, there's a delay, it will be ready soon" would have been enough. The food is good, but experiences like this can overshadow it. I hope the management addresses such service issues so the customer care matches the quality of the food. read more

The food was bland. I ordered Pav Bhaji and they just added a ton of spice to mask the lack of flavor. The Masala Dosa was also bland. I ordered mango lasi and they didn't even bring it to me and then when I asked, she was verifying if I had paid for it but didn't even say sorry. Don't waste your money at this place read more

Another grocery/restaurant combo! As for the restaurant, the seating area on ground floor seems limited but they do offer outdoor space as well as 2nd floor seating, which is nice and clean. Though I feel that they could have done a bit more in terms of making the place feel more elevated...rather than offer IKEA tables and plastic chairs. The grand exterior does not match the interior. Food wise, they offer pretty much everything, chaat, dosas, veg/non-veg curries, appetizers, kebabs, soups, and Indo-Chinese. Everything is SPICY, even the milder items- make sure you take a tums beforehand. And food quality was pretty good! Overall the Prices are $$$ high compared to other places nearby for the same food- but they offer a 10% discount if you pay in cash. The grocery area is good and had lots of varieties of items which is not available in other stores. Quality of produce is nice too... however again the prices are quite high $$$- for same item I can get at Kroger or India Bazaar/Patel Brothers... is at least $2-$4 more (ex. Parle-G biscuits are normally $.10 but they are selling for $.20 (double)) but for the convenience aspect some people might be okay to pay more. Overall it's a good place for something quick but I feel that you're paying a premium for that convenience. read more

Organized and very clean inside. They are open now and most of the aisles are filled with groceries. They have some opening specials going on now too. On the side there's a resturant area where you can order food too. The groceries are a tad bit expensive then some others around dallas but it's new and close by the big neighborhoods so it's a good convient and close store. read more

I think this place is cool for either shopping for the right spice for Indian crusine to actually buying to go premade items made in house in the restaurant area. I tried the chicken tikka masala and it was fantastic. The naan was really good and fluffy. The employees were super nice and accommodating. I don't understand the negative reviews. read more

I used to love the food here. Ever since they opened we have dined and picked up several times but every time post meal (except the very first time) I always felt extremely sick (heavy bloated stomach, sluggishness and sometimes acid reflux/ heartburn). Not sure if I'm not used to the high levels of spice or if it's because of poor quality ingredients In spite of the great taste and convenience we have stopped getting food from here since a month now. read more

I mostly find this Indian market convenient because it's the closest one to me ...I have not tried their food in their cater style restaurant mostly because it's expensive and I can cook most of it myself. The food quality has gone down the drain. Comparing The snacks/food I used to get from Swadeshi in Irving for years back and recently got some food was horrible. Dry and stale starters , tasteless mirchi bhaji . And specially for the price tag one expects premium quality food. Waited 45 mins for our food. Complained to the owner told him it's the second time this had happened he did take care of it right away. Food was delicious, they told me would give me a refund but I didn't want to go through that hassle again so I left. Will give it another shot just because of the location and food. Hopefully the service improves. Went back today service was great food was great on time I appreciate the manager taking care of the issue and offering me refund for my food. Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan is highly recommended! Better than most I've had in the dallas metroplex area.

First things first, I ate the butter chicken and chicken byrani and just puked my guts out not even 10-15min afterwards. Second when I called in to place my order I told the person I want one order of butter chicken, naan and chicken byrani. I don't know how the food was because I never got to eat it. My baby needed a change and the restaurant owner wasn't courteous enough to put in a changing table. So I had to leave with my baby while the rest ate. Then I had to come back and pick everyone up.
