That said, this felt like a re-introduction to Indian food as a whole as it's the only place I've been doing it this way. We got the tandoori chicken, roti, Banarasi chaat, and laal maas (with goat instead of lamb.) Everything was outstanding. The overall flavor palette of the meal leaned a smidge sweet, but that's on us. Even something as standard as roti was still a very, very good roti. We went with spice level 2 of the 3 available on everything, and while I myself wish I'd gone with level 3, my partner was at the top of his comfort level. Level 2 is spicy, but if you regularly eat spicy food, it's a good moderate burn. Portion sizes were a nice surprise, we had leftovers that got us through both a breakfast and a snack break. I've never had Banarasi chaat, nor laal maas, before. We specifically ordered those rather than our standards we'd get elsewhere, because we wanted to see what we were missing. Now that we've had this meal, though, I'm so ready to go back for tikka and roghan josh, etc. The people are fun and kind, happy to leave you alone or to share their stories and the history of this location, the previous location, and themselves. The chef came out to check in at the end; he is attentive and charming, and cares deeply about what he does. The price of everything was surprising, I wasn't paying attention as we ordered, and was fully ready to be out more money than we were. We will be back, and soon. I love how fast we got a table, so I don't want to see it get too packed but I'll still be putting friends up on game bringing them here.
