Normally, I DO NOT like the standing-Sizzler-style ordering method, but the cashier was so friendly about explaining the menu and such, that it worked perfectly. I ordered the smoked chicken with onion straws & a salad bar bowl. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! A group of us stopped into Swadley's Bar-B-Q tonight for a little Labor Day BBQ since we didn't want to grill out ourselves. Swadley's has multiple locations in the OKC area and seems to have a good reputation around these parts. As a visitor from Minnesota, I was looking forward to trying BBQ here and by the end of it, I was glad I chose Swadley's for dinner. We were a little confused upon entering Swadley's since we had never been there before. The ordering system starts with you going through the line, up to the counter, and looking at the menu (like a fast food joint) to determine what you want. You pay immediately at the register, they give you a card with a number for your party, and then you pick a table in the dining area to set the number on, so when the food is ready, they bring it out to you. My boyfriend ordered the City Boy with sliced brisket (comes with your choice of meat, 1 side, and 1 drink for $10.99). I got the 4 rib dinner (comes with 2 sides and 1 drink for $14.99) to share with my boyfriend as well. The rest of our party got meats ranging from turkey, chicken, sausage, etc. They have 4 different BBQ sauces and 2 types of pickles as well which you can ask for once you're at the table. I swear, the food was done in no time. They give large portions, so you'll more than likely have leftovers to bring home. My boyfriend and I ended up having leftovers ourselves since the ribs were HUGE. If you're sharing this dinner and any other meal with another person, I'd suggest getting the 2 rib dinner instead of the 4 rib dinner. Everyone enjoyed their food. The only critique I have is that our ribs weren't "fall off the bone" kind of ribs. They were juicy, but so much of the meat stuck onto the bones. The brisket (you can have the trimmings cut off or keep them on depending on your preference) was fantastic and the sides were great. I had never tried fried okra before, but I would definitely get it again. I also got the campfire tots which weren't crispy, but they were seasoned well. My boyfriend liked the mashed potatoes, but please note that they come with a white gravy not a brown gravy. Before I wrap this up, I need to commend the wait staff here. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was very courteous and personable as well. She struck up conversation with us and gave us a lot of helpful information on the food here. We never had to ask for her to come by because she was timely on her own and would frequently check in on us. She gave us lids for both our drink cups and our condiment cups and at the end of our meal, offered us complimentary vanilla ice cream (cone or cup). It was such an unexpected nice gesture! Let me tell ya, the ice cream here in itself, is a reason you should come here. Thank you Swadley's, for serving up a Labor Day dinner we won't forget! Your service is unmatched! read more

We were in town visiting for a family member's high school graduation, and this was a spot that the locals suggested. I have to say, it was amazing! We had 12 people and our waitress, Madie, was outstanding. She was patient, quick, efficient, and friendly! The food was amazing. I had brisket, with fried and coleslaw. All of which was great, but the cream corn was the best i've had and i wished I got that as one of my sides. The burnt ends are also delicious. Definitely a place I would go back to! read more

I'm going to college out of state and wow do I crave specifically Swadley's often! It's on the pricier end and not for an every day occurrence, but it's delicious. Update: going to give 1 star because this experience was just unacceptable. None of the staff are wearing masks during a freaking pandemic, which is certainly a health risk (don't eat here if you're immunocompromised). On top of that, whichever idiot packed my order forgot the BBQ sauce such that I now had to drive all the way back. Called to ask to have it ready, told to call when I arrived and had some other idiot on the phone when I arrived who asked 3 times (after being given an answer each time) of what sauce flavor I want then took forever to get it to me. Went in and had the ultimate bbq sandwich with okra. It was delicious and perfectly stacked. This is the perfect place to go for some delicious bbq and a southern vibe. After traveling to this area for work, BBQ was not our top pick for dinner. With so many great BBQ restaurants where we live, it's hard to top Texas for BBQ. Swadley's came recommended by Yelp, so off we went. It was delicious, it really was. Both of us ordered completely different things (loaded baked potato for him, smoked chicken for me). The sides were awesome, sauces (4 I think?) were all excellent. But really, it was the staff and in particular, Harrison who graciously waited on us. Is it world famous good as it's touted on their signage? Ok, maybe/maybe not. Was it good enough to warrant a five star review from some BBQ snobs from down south? 'MOIST' brisket was ALL FAT; no meat to be found. The manager explained their 'process' and asked if they could provide my brother a serving of 'LEAN' brisket which he readily accepted. First time either of us have ever even heard of or been asked if we wanted 'MOIST' brisket?? Sides were good; but, our server was abhorent. Asked us if we wanted anything to go with our meal, "Yes, we BOTH want onions, jalapenos and mild BBQ sauce." They brought ONE of each to our table. A second trip was required!! We asked if we could EACH have a spooon....hard to eat beans with a fork. They brought ONE spoon. A second trip was required!! We asked for to-go boxes and explained my brother would need a small one for the MOIST, ALL FAT brisket and a large one for the rest of his meal and I would need a large one.
