Good food and surroundings but some rowdy folks come here and sometimes put a damper on the ambiance.

I thought I would enjoy the same bbq experience I had at another Swadley's restaurant but I was disappointed here. The meat served on the baked potato was less than I ever saw anywhere and the service was not good. At least at other bbq restaurants you can get a bottle of sauce on the table. I've never had a bad meal from Swadley's! We had the smoked chicken salad, which is big enough for 3people, and the ribs. It was soooo good! The salad was crisp, the ranch was creamy and delicious. This evening at 4:30 my wife and I decided to eat at Swadley's in Mustang, OK even though we had read past reports of alleged illegal dealing with the State of OK. We place our order and noticed that there were only 4 other people in the restaurant. We decided to do a large meat combo with two sides and split it. When the food arrived the meat look good but the Okra was burned and I believed it had been sitting for a while and reheated. The other side was fried Onion pieces that was room temperature and had Wald so been prepared before we ordered. I decided to bypass our very pleasant young waitress and walked up to the counter and was asked by another waiter if he could help me. I explained that the okra was burned and I wanted fresh okra that was lightly fried and not burned. a bout five minutes later a fresh order was brought out and he could see the difference in the two order's and apologized, The waitress came to the table a few minutes later and I ask her to have the Manager come to the table. A young girl, maybe 22 or so ,came out and I showed her the two order and she said peopled liked them more fried, but she said she liked them like the second batch personally. I told he I had eaten Okra at a hundred or more restaurants and they were never burned like the first batch was. She became incensed that I would bring this up and say anything after they prepared a second batch. I for sure will never eat there again. Her disrespectful tone was a real turn off as I am 4 times her age and she has no business in such a position. Eat there at you own risk. I had eaten there many times before COVID when they took pride in their food and service. I did leave the waitress a generous tip as she seemed to be in high school and was a good waitress and quite pleasant. I normally leave great reviews, but this negative one was warranted. read more

This place is a landmark to mustang. Seemed to have been here for years! I've been coming since I moved to the area. Been slowly watching the changes with the restaurant. From the menu to how sharp the staff is dressed. I remember high school kids in t-shirts running around. Your silverware in paper bags-you get a cloth napkin now! The meats have always been really tasty. Always juicy with plenty on your plate. I always get the brisket. It's the best. The chicken is my second. Chicken is always in really thick pieces, which I love since it doesn't dry out. It's always a good meal here. Plus you get free ice cream! read more

New to the area and ordered the Smoked Chicken Dinner" from the online menu. It clearly says it comes with hushpuppies, which is why we ordered it, but we didn't get them. We called and the kid was extremely rude saying it doesn't come with them, we asked why is it on the menu then, he didn't know and hung up. That menu item is no different than the meat plate, then...makes no sense. Plus the chopped brisquet was all fat, even though it had a $2 up-charge. Lunch on Saturday Feb 17, Let me STATE this now, I want my bed upstairs so I can bask in the aroma. Party of 6, we ordered and found our seat. I felt like my sister was bringing my drink and lunch(sausage..drool), food was served quickly and NEVER did we ask for anything, wait staff were on top of it FROM THE GET GO. I was so impressed with the sausage, PERFECT, my sides were potato salad and pick beans. Potato salad is excellent, I compare items to someplace else I've been....home, my wife makes it great, Swadley's is right there with her. The beans had the right tang. We will be back and I will try more items although the sausage was.....I'll try not to order it again.....oh heck who am I kidding. If you want great bbq then just go straight to Swadleys. We have tried other places. I don't want to call out the other places that only micro-"crave" their bbq. Swadleys actually does it great! This is by far not only delicious and true to taste smoked bbq food, but the FRIENDLIEST people on the planet! Our waitress was so kind to us, as were all of the staff! Swadleys has the best BBQ in the metro area. This location is exceptional. Generous portions, reasonable prices. Food tastes great, but ribs are hit and miss as far as being smoked. 85% of the time they are amazing and the rest of the time they are overly smoked with thick black crust of liquid smoke covering the meat. Stopped in for a late lunch after daughter's softball tournament. We don't eat anywhere when we are traveling that we can eat at home. Since we are from Pennsylvania, we decided to go for BBQ. For a chain restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, and there were some sandwiches that were slightly different than the typical ones you'd see in other BBQ places. I had the Firehouse, which is brisket, sausage, onion straws, and spicy beans. Fantastic! My wife and daughter both ordered the Smokehouse Club. The only mistake with that was that it was way too much food! They could have split one and been fine. Prices were very reasonable. Although you order at the counter when you enter, your food is brought to your table by servers, who also take your drink order and bring you refills, sauces, and anything else you want. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because they aren't open on Sundays. I have a problem with businesses that can't come into the 21st century. It's an archaic practice, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised given the backwards liquor laws that Oklahoma has. read more

By far the best service we have ever had going out to eat with a ball team. We came in with a large group of about 35 last night and I could not have been more impressed! Had lunch here last week and I would say it is a little below average. Brisket was dry. Sauce not very good. Won't go back.

How have I never eaten at a Swadley's?! My husband, son and I had less than an hour to grab lunch and decided BBQ was the way to go. My main issue with the whole experience was that no one helps you figure out what to do-- where do I order? Do I get my drink? What is happening? Since it was our first time I was a little awkward and got in trouble for trying to fix our drinks--lesson learned, I will do nothing but order and sit down at a table! Once that stressful experience was over it was smooth sailing. Our server, Macie did in fact take care of us. Food was solid: we both had sandwiches (pulled pork and brisket) and each tried a different sauce and we both annihilated our sandwiches. My husband had the okra and fries and both were a hit for him and our son, I had Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, which I chose for sharing with our little guy but they were so good I didn't want to share! The ice cream at the end is a nice touch, but with the buttery sandwich buns and heavy sides, it makes the meal a calorie bomb that we may do sparingly, but I'm glad we've been and will happily return now that we know what to do! read more

Quality and speed of service were both great. Burger was great. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but nothing to complain about. I had their double burger which really could have worked as a single (did not appear to be that option). The meat was juicy and tender, cheese was gooing out the sides, and veggies seemed fresh. I had a side of fries which looked sad (and overcooked) compared to the beastburger. They did not taste overcooked though, and were quite pleasant as far as fries go. Nothing amazing, but pretty decent. Sweet tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. Service was friendly, refills were pretty prompt considering there were a good 15 of us. I'm just not a fan of Swadleys. It's not that their food is bad, there just isn't anything special about it. Their brisket can be pretty fatty everytime I've had it. And their sausage a little tough. Their sauces are pretty good, as well as their smoked turkey, but overall I'd just call it an average barbecue spot, with the bonus of a drive through window. read more

Nothing is better than some good ole' BBQ. This place was great the first time we ate here. It was ok the second time. Maybe the excitement wore off, but the second time the food wasn't as great as the first. So far me and my friends have ordered everything on the menu. The brisket is great, it tasted a bit more dry on the second visit, but good on the first. The catfish leaves something to be desired for. The arrangement of pickles is very cool. Just a nice array of things to nibble on. Waitresses here are very friendly. I like them a lot. read more

I've used the drive through several times, and have never had a bad experience. The food is delicious, not life-changing, but quality Q. Sliced brisket and sausage are my standbys if I want a quick plate because they have yet to let me down on those. Sides are always done well also. Staff that I encounter at the window are pretty cool and get my food out in a timely manner, so I really have no gripes with service at all. May have to dine in at some point just to see how that goes. If you're in a rush and on this side of OKC, give it a shot. read more

First time in here. I stopped because their parking lot was still half full at 1:30. This place is very nice. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The lady at the front, Natalie, was helpful with selections, friendly and professional. Her suggestions were excellent. Ribs. Yum. What can I say about Swadley's food that hasn't already been said? It's the best BBQ around. I love to mix their sweet and spicy BBQ sauces together and drench the chopped brisket in it. The sweet cream corn is amazing. I order an extra quart so there is some left for the next day. I just wish they had dinner rolls too. read more
