One thing I love: the place is always hopping. I've never seen it slow. Constant energy and a full house tell me they've earned a loyal following. The whole team is warm and welcoming, especially Missy and Shayna at the front desk. Those two are scheduling wizards. Somehow Sheila juggles two or three clients at once, and it runs smoothly because the front desk nails the timing every time. I usually get haircuts, highlights, and conditioning treatments. They also do beautiful eyebrow work, and almost every visit I see someone getting extensions that look amazing. Prices are very reasonable - not the cheapest, but absolutely fair for the quality. The real reason I keep coming back? The experience. Sheila nails my services perfectly, visit after visit. But she also takes time to teach me something new about my own hair - how to style it, encourage growth, or which products help. She genuinely cares. Now it's in a shopping plaza and it's not a fancy place by any means. The last time I went to super cuts/famous Sam's or even the last high end places left me sad and upset. So as I walk in and see a barber cutting a kids hair and no one else in the shop I got a lil worried. Then came from the back and was not what I expected compared to boujee shops I've been to lately. Bad experience and would not go back. Here is why…read more I had scheduled a time/day to get my hair cut. The stylist took 6 hours (no exaggeration) to do my hair. It got to the point where it was 10:00 p.m. and I just had to leave. I couldn't take it any more. She didn't even finish my hair all the way and she made me very uncomfortable. It wasn't until the next day that I realized just how bad my hair really was. My roots were not even touched and my hair was very uneven. To say that this was the worst haircut/dye that I have ever received, is an understatement. So naturally, I decided to go back to the salon and just ask them to fix it. I didn't make a big deal about it at all and I would have been fine just getting it fixed. Upon entering the salon the following day, I spoke with Jeff and explained my situation and how I requested to have my hair fixed. Jeff then proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay for another appointment...I politely explained the situation again and requested that my roots just be touched up and my uneven hair trimmed. Jeff stated he would have to speak to his supervisor (maybe, the owner?), Melissa and I would be contacted. Was I contacted? Nope. In fact multiple times I had to follow up and send multiple pictures to finally get another appointment scheduled. Luckily, when I came in and got my hair fixed, a new stylist fixed my hair and I was pleasantly relieved. It should be reiterated that no one including the supervisor, Melissa, the owner, or anyone ever contacted me to apologize including when I came back in person to get my hair fixed. In addition, I should also point out that whenever a stylist leaves the salon, the company sends out emails, and at times will explain why the stylist left. For one particular stylist, the email stated, "XXXX has left Willow Sage Salon on unfortunate terms. Her conduct has not been in line with our values, and we cannot continue working with her." In my opinion, this is unprofessional and these type of things should be kept in house. There is no need to air dirty laundry out to the public. By doing this, it doesn't reflect positively on the business and raises questions about the company and business practices. To summarize, all of this could have been easily avoided and I wouldn't have posted a review if better customer service would have been implemented. The owner or supervisor-anyone should have contacted me, apologized and resolved the problem immediately by booking another appointment. I shouldn't have had to continue to follow up multiple times etc. I will never go back. Do not recommend.
