Since I have been trying to cut back on fried food, I was able to substitute the fried fish for grilled fish. Food - 4 stars Baby, let me tell you. My grilled fish was tasty and melted in my mouth. Before I start this let me just say, I've been to this Mambos several times with great service and great food. That being said I don't know WHAT THE FUCK just happened?!?!?? We stopped in for lunch (5 adults 2 babies) and got told it was a 30min wait. Okay that's fine we sat and waited. Turned into a 45min wait with several 4 top tables open, we asked to combine two tables and were denied, several other parties of 4,5 and 6 adults came in and were seated before us, plus a couple of people that just walked in and sat themselves AND WERE SERVED without the hostess saying anything to them, at the table right next to the hostess stand no less! After the long wait we were finally seated after asking one of the waitresses to combine two empty tables while hostess was off somewhere. We get our drinks and order our food, 25mins later we got our orders, (3 fried fish platters, one shrimp platter, one grilled salmon) what was brought out were the shrimp platter and 4 fried fish platters. All of which were lukewarm warm at best. When the new waiter was informed that that was not my order he did take it back but then our original waitress brought back THE SAME PLATE and asked if I still wanted it?!? NO BRING ME WHAT I ORDERED! 20mins later the same waiter who brought all the other food came to check on us and said the salmon was almost done, he then cleared the other adults plates. Had to tell him to just cancel the salmon I did not want it anymore, what was the point everyone else was done eating. At the very least they had the common God Damn sense to not charge me for the one thing they did get right, my iced tea. Almost two damn hours of my Sunday wasted by shitty service, and if the manager from Mambos is reading this and is thinking man that guy seems irritated, yes I am/was especially because I know you guys are capable of so much better. All of us said the exact same thing, as many times as we've been here we have never had such bad service. The line was long to and we had to wait to be seated outside. Seeing it was. 25 minute wait my best friend and I left but no sooner than we left they text us to be seated outside as we chose to dine in. The food was really good. The only complaint I have is my pupusa's were empty and meaning with no inside meat and vegetable stuffing. They nicely took care of it. The Shrimp were amazing as always, the pupusa's were freshly made and was well worth the wait. The Drink was good however I was not able to drink was okay. I love mambos, I go at least 2 times a month. Today was my first time at this location & I was very disappointed. I usually get great service & the food is always good, but not today. Our food was cold, the waiter Ivan could not figure out who ordered what, on top of that she seemed annoyed every time we had to remind her of something. She brought out the wrong food, & we would often have to chase her down to get her to bring things we asked for about 10min ago. Keep in mind it was not that busy, it was 2pm on a Saturday & the place was pretty empty. The food was also cold which was very disappointing. When it was time to pay she had to separate the checks & it seemed she was very confused on how to do it & who got what, even though we had told her repeatedly. I'm not sure if she's new or what. At the time of check out we decided to go up front as as she's struggling none of her other coworkers were asking her if she needed help, which she clearly did. I placed my order online. I was told my order will be ready in 19 minutes. I drove to the restaurant took me 20 minutes to get there. I go inside and they told me my order wasn't ready. I asked how much longer because I'm double parked, so I can move. I was told......they are working on it now. I only ordered rice, so I thought ok a few minutes. 10 minutes later, still not ready. I ask again, rude lady (because everybody there was rude) said I'm only waiting on your chicken rice. I ordered a special rice and a chicken rice. I said ok. 7 more minutes go by and they finally call my name. I check my order before I walk out and realize that I have a special rice and a shrimp rice, not chicken. I asked to speak with a manager because my mom can't eat shrimp and they gave me the wrong order. Manager didn't apologize or anything he was justifying the error stating they are backed up. He stated they are working on your rice now. Now it's been over 40 minutes since I placed the order. 8 minutes later my rice comes out and I tell the girl just give it to me, because she took it and was looking for a bag. I have driven by Mambo many times and wondered how good it was. I met a friend recently, and he suggested this place so I jumped at the idea. I went for lunch and I first noticed that the menu showed reasonably priced entrees. We both ordered the combo platter of 2 fish fillets and 8 shrimp with one side ($8.99). While the fish was not large (perhaps tilapia) but the shrimp was pretty decent (maybe 30 count size). I chose the salad over french fries or shrimp Mambo rice. Not impressed with the iceberg lettuce and tomato, but what do you expect for 9 bucks. Next time I will go for the rice. The food was fresh fried with a light breading and the tartar sauce was as expected. For some reason, I did not get cocktail sauce, but I did not bother this time. Otherwise, service was good but I was glad that my friend spoke Spanish. I liked the menu and prices and this is a decent restaurant that is a good value. I will be coming back. read more

It's pretty oily and unhealthy. This is just not the type of food that I will choose but hey, This is where my boss usually get lunch for us. My boss like it and he pays so he get to pick. I usually order the 2 pieces of fish with mambo shrimp fried rice (or French fried if you like) for $5.45 You can't beat this price). Last time I order a whole fried tilapia for $7.99It was pretty fresh. But once again very oily. I will get the fish without batter next time. Also tried their vuela ala vida cocktail (combination shrimp, oyster, fish, octopus ceviche) $7.49 for a small cup. I tried their mangonadas and it's not 100% real fruit like other those authentic Mexican place. Tip: if you order Togo, check your order before you leave. Here's my 2 cents...I've been to mambos only 3 times in my life (at only this location) and it's pretty decent. It's the fast food of seafood restaurants and you can get a good plate to eat for under $10. Ive only been during lunch time because I work close, and it's pretty chill. I have read all the reviews and I don't think that This Mambos is as bad as they say. Every time I've gone I went with a large group and always our food came out fast and no mistakes. The food was really good the batter in the shrimp and fish is light and the fried shrimp is tasty. Like I said it's the fast food of seafood restaurants so if you're looking for a real nice seafood meal, go somewhere else, but if you're looking to get a bite and go, then try it out!
