Even though we're from Virginia, whenever we're in Patterson, it's a must-visit--some things never change, and this place is one of them. I had the Surf & Turf with a 10 oz ribeye and fried shrimp, along with green beans. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp were golden, crispy, and fresh. We also had the Stuffed Flounder, served with cheese grits, a baked sweet potato, and coleslaw--a true Southern plate, made from scratch and full of comfort. The meal started with a warm dinner roll and a fresh side salad with thousand island dressing, and we finished it off with two incredible desserts: Chocolate Meringue Pie and Strawberry Shortcake. Both were rich, homemade, and absolutely worth saving room for. They're only open Fridays and Saturdays right now, so make sure to plan ahead. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the atmosphere feels like home. Otter Creek isn't just a restaurant--it's a Patterson tradition that continues to live up to its name

But we were not so in love last night. The restaurant was quite empty maybe about 8-9 tables and yet I it took well over half an hour to get our food. Any other time we've been there it's been super busy and we've gotten our food in half the amount of time. We were sitting at the bar, ordered Long Island, iced tea, and two waters, I admit the waters were good smooth drinks, but the Long Island cheese were sooo much and. too strong. We said as much to the bartender and she laughed like it was kind of a joke. We literally split two drinks up to four. I do admit my salad was wonderful, but that sweet potato was pitiful! Almost 4 dollars for a .25 potato is ridiculous! Here's the lesson, you need no help on the salad. It was great. You need to really evaluate your sweet potatoes and a Long Island iced tea should be smooth.... so smooth that you order a second one not that you get a second one in the first story. And your service really needs to be service.

I debated between shrimp and oysters and the buffet. I chose the buffet because the menu indicated there was lots of different seafood the buffet and I was hoping for some vegetables too. Big mistake. There was no oysters, no scallops and only one vegetable, green beans. There was a small salad bar, so I did have some of that. The best thing was the fried shrimp and the shrimp in the shrimp boil. The deviled crab was not good.Sigh, I paid a huge amount of money and was so disappointed. The interior has not been updated at all, which was a surprise as popular as it is. Learned a hard lesson....look at the buffet before you order it. My apology....I posted the wrong picture when I wrote this review. I was catching up on reviews and clicked the wrong one. I have deleted the picture and apologize for the error.

They do a dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday that has quite a bit of seafood on it as well as steaks, sausages, chicken etc. the dining room is just about always busy as it's a really popular place but the waitresses take good care of everyone. It is not a romantic spot or particularly good for small kids (crowded busy dining room with lots of people carrying buffet plates) but is perfect for people who want really good food at a good price and anyone who appreciated fresh shrimp.

The host greeted us warmly, quickly found our reservation, and showed us to our table in the lounge area. We started with a bottle of Albariño, caviar, and I had the soup, which was absolutely out-of-this-world delicious. For my entrée, I selected the Valentine's preset menu, which included the soup, a perfectly cooked NY strip, and a dessert that was outstanding. I actually told them that dessert needs to be added to the regular menu -- it was that good, even if it was just a one-night special. My husband ordered the scallops and was very pleased -- he said we definitely need to come back again. It's definitely a place to celebrate something special. It is on the expensive side, and reservations are recommended, but the experience makes it worth it
