When in town this is my go to spot to grab decadent pastries to share with friends and family. Their quiche never disappoints. The lemon bars a must try, usually sold out. Honestly everything I've tried here has been delish. Service is good, please specify if you want certain items in different boxes especially if they don't ask. Ambiance is a walk in walk out bakery. They use to have seating inside but they clanged their baking operations instead.

Got a few chocolate chip cookies and one oatmeal raisin. Was told these were nut-free, though it was not a nut free facility, and the worker didn't seem confident that this was safe for someone with a nut allergy (we actually ended up going somewhere else afterward who assured us that they carefully clean everything out before making their nut-free products). The cookies were pretty standard, and the pastries we got were good. The ham and gruyere turnover was super flaky, probably would have been better heated. The mozzarella focaccia was my favorite item, soft and airy, and flavorful, though the sea salt on top was unnecessary. Service was sufficient with minimal wait time, and parking was plentiful out front on a Sunday morning.

Simply perfect. Sweet Adeline has become my go-to spot for pies and cakes whenever I need to bring something to a gathering to impress. Their pies are simple, not overly extravagant, yet manages to nail what makes each dessert great. From their chocolate cream pies to pumpkin pies, each tastes like what you would imagine a classic, homemade dessert to be - rich, decadent, smooth, and filling. If you're in the Bay Area, this is an absolute must if you're looking for the perfect highlight for your next gathering with friends and family.

Reserved a whole pecan carrot cake for a birthday for the first time. It was delicious. My whole family loved it because it wasn't too sweet! The price was $50 plus $3 for inscription. Usually , when I order a cake any where else, they usually include a free inscription. I do wonder why they charge for inscription. The girl that helped me was very nice when I picked up my cake. I will be back to try their other cakes and pastries!

When I lived in Cali, I was a frequent customer almost every Sunday. So of course, they were on my list when I visited this week. Welp, something has changed in the last 5 years!!! The inside has changed from a spacious place to eat inside and now it's blocked off. Also, the most important thing!! The sprinkles cake and cheesecake is not the same:( The cheesecake lacked flavor and tasted like butter. The infamous sprinkles cake no longer has a jelly thin layer as did 5 years ago. Both cakes were not tasteful and lacked flavor. We ended up throwing away the cheesecake, and sprinkles cake. Very disappointed, and unsure if there was a change in ownership and recipes. The service was good by the young lady who helped us. I just have no other words than just simply disappointed.

My friends ordered the Rose Pistachio Torte for my birthday! All my guests raved about it. I know my desserts and I've eaten more than my share of birthday sweets over several years. This is a big compliment from me to the bakers - this was my favorite cake ever! Full of flavor and definitely not a cloying sweetness. The Goldilocks in me said, "It's just right." Thank you!

Pastries are to die for!! This little hidden bakery is everything you could ask for when it comes to baked goods. The few pastries I tried were delicious, and I need to come again and give the rest of their stuff a try!

After just one visit, I'm sold! Sweet Adeline Bakeshop was the sweetest find when I was in the Berkeley area. I was searching for a good classic vanilla cheesecake by the slice and Yelp pointed me to Sweet Adeline. Even though it's sort of off the main street in Berkeley, they luckily have a small parking lot in front so it was pretty easy to find parking. The shop itself is pretty small - takeout only except for a couple of tables outside. On a Thursday mid-morning, it wasn't too busy either. Once I entered the shop, I was already wow'd by all the beautiful, delicious pastries and bakery items on display. If I could get one of everything, I definitely would've and I'm sure everything would've been so good! Instead of getting everything this time, I ordered a slice of their classic vanilla cheesecake ($5) and a slice of their Louise cake ($7.50) which is a classic chocolate cake. They packed it up nicely in a box and I brought it home for dessert after dinner that evening. I made sure to keep it in the fridge until then and when I unpacked it later that evening, it still looked so fresh and ready to go. We shared the slices with our dinner guests who had birthdays this month and they both LOVED IT. I sneaked a bite of each and they were delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more!

The lady at the counter was super nice and personable. She was easy to talk to and friendly. She asked if we wanted our treats warmed up but since I was taking mine home, she recommended to heat it up for 45 seconds at home. Thank you!! I ordered: * black sesame mochi muffin - nice chew, great sesame flavor, and not too sweet * churro mochi muffin - covered in cinnamon sugar, so good. Great texture as well. * banana bread pudding - looks so ooey and gooey! I took an edge piece because I like the chewy crispy texture. Love to return when I'm back in the area.

The bakery itself seems to mainly be a takeout spot, with minimal indoor seating which felt pretty inconvenient given the limited space for customers, however it did seem to serve more of a purpose as a waiting area anyways. The structure of the bakery leaves a bit to be desired as well, as we found the glass display cases as the only form of menu, so being in the front of the line while still deciding what to order caused some unnecessary anxiety. Regardless of those nitpicks, the baked goods themselves were pretty good! Service was instant, and all of the treats looked delicious--it was hard to choose what we wanted! Our favorites were the Thai Tea and Ube Coconut Mochi Donuts. Both had really strong flavors--the Ube in particular was very clear in comparison to most other Ube desserts in my experience. The textures of the mochi donuts were really well done too, with soft exteriors and chewy, glutinous interiors. The same can be said about the Mochi Muffins, though with crunchier parts around the edges. We found the contrast of textures to actually work really well! However, the flavors of the Muffins were lacking a bit--the Red Velvet didn't stand out much, with the frosting tasting a bit too sweet, and while the Five Spice had a really interesting flavor, it was also a bit too sweet, drowning out the more unique citrusy flavor. Overall, however, all four of the goods we had were enjoyable eats, and would definitely return some time to try out other flavors!

We decided to order 6 different pastries. We first tried their Seasonal Strawberry Almond Frangipane, Seasonal Strawberry Kouign Amann, Cardamon Pistachio Kouign Amann, Chocolate Pistachio Kouign Amann, Chocolate Babka, and Twice Baked Mocha Pecan Croissant. I liked all of their Kouign Amanns a lot, especially the strawberry one which added a nice fruit element! Their kouign amanns have very crispy layers and very flaky. I'd honestly recommend all 6 of the pastries we tried, especially since the prices for this place are lower (~$6) than some other high quality bakeries around the Oakland and SF area. The decor inside the bakery is really cute and there are quite a few small tables you can sit at to enjoy the baked goods. Service was nice and fast. Overall: solid pastry spot I'd recommend anyone to check out!

The ambiance is wonderful - I absolutely love the deep blue color scheme, the cute matching mugs, and gorgeous plants. They have a lot of different pastry choices, but unfortunately, there was only one vegan option: a tiny hazelnut sweet bread. I ordered the bread along with an Americano. When I tried to take the pastry out of the package to share it with my girlfriend, it completely crumbled into a big mess. I went up to the counter to let them know, and the employee told me it was actually meant to be eaten straight from the package. She mentioned it was on the drier side being vegan, she took the crumbled mess and gave me a new one but it ended up having the exact same issue. It wasnt dry, but it just wouldn't hold any moisture and was far too crumbly to eat. For $5, this tiny pastry was a major letdown. To make the interaction weirder, she took the original crumbled bread back from me and I'm only assuming threw it away, which felt entirely unnecessary. Having been vegan for nine years, I've had some truly amazing, moist vegan baked goods, so this was incredibly disappointing. While the vibe and aesthetic are great, the vegan options were major letdown. CC accepted Restroom available

We ended up getting three things: * The cheese twist was soooo good! The cheese was flavorful and the pastry itself was perfectly done. * The apple pastry was interesting. Unlike many places where the pastry is either bland or overly sweet, Acme's pastry had a slight saltiness to it, which I actually think is genius. I almost always prefer a hint of savory flavor to balance out the sweetness from the filling or topping. My only issue with this one was that the apple topping was not sweet at all and leaned more tart, so paired with the salty pastry, it was not quite the flavor combination I was hoping for. * The mini raspberry pastry had the same issue for me. The raspberry topping was just a bit too tart and sour for my taste. Even though not everything was a hit for me, I would definitely come back and give this bakery another chance, especially since we arrived so late and missed out on many of their most popular items.

The women working at the counter were so sweet and patiently explained the menu to me as I was picking out my treats. I ended up getting their Okonomiyaki Danish, Banana Milk Milk Bun, and Yuzu Meringue Bun. The danish was probably one of my favorite savory pastries I've ever had! I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Aside from their iconic Okonomiyaki Danish, they rotate their menu with different flavors of milk buns, cream buns, croissants, and other baked goods, so I'd love to come back to try their other items. Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking. Crossubi -- A very unique concept and not bad overall. I just wish the interior wasn't quite as hollow; a little more filling would have elevated it.
