We had a spectacular dinner at Sweet Amelia's! The weather was perfect so we sat outside beneath the string lights and took in the quaintness of the town square. The staff were very pleasant and patient as we figured out what we wanted to eat. I tried their roasted butternut squash dish w/turnbroc while my fiancé ate the chuck eye steak. We were both impressed with our meals and sad we didn't have space for dessert.

Don't let the lack of options keep you away - quality vs. quantity proves to be absolutely true here! My meat & potatoes loving husband was not looking forward to meeting four friends here because he didn't like the menu. Once there we ordered five "snacks" and devoured each one. There were only 5 choices for entrees, but that proved to be too many! I had a hard time choosing! I went with a pasta and it did not disappoint. I would definitely go back.

Wow!!! My friend and I went to Sweet Amelia's for the first time last night and it was phenomenal. We were both so surprised that this gem is tucked away in Kennett and people don't seem to have caught on. Every dish was amazing - we got the chicken skin tea sandwiches, hamachi collar, lamb kofta, halibut, beef cheek ragú, and finished with the chocolate olive oil cake. Not one miss in the whole bunch. I highly recommend checking out Sweet Amelia's if you haven't yet! I will absolutely be back.

One of the more unique dining experiences in Kennett Square! While the menu is always rotating, we were so attached to so many of these menu options! The steak was out of this world tender and the potato's were perfect. We really leaned into trusting our waitress with the experience and going off of her recommendations and I would highly recommend that. The ambiance was quiet but perfect for our intimate date night. Will definitely be back!

We had brunch at Sweet Amelia's on Saturday, and the food was fantastic! We were just surprised that we were the only people in the whole restaurant on a Saturday at lunch time. The restaurant is so cute with brick interior walls and booth tables facing the sunny windows. The waitress was friendly and helpful! We were seated right away. We ordered shishito peppers, tomate toast and crab dip to split. The crab dip and homemade crackers were so delicious. That was my favorite! The shishito peppers were also super tasty! I loved the ricotta toast with egg. Everything we tried was full of flavor and beautifully composed. We were so happy we tried this restaurant. I hope they have more people dining there most days. This place is such a great find!

Wonderful food!! Service by Zach was great. What a find. We ordered at lunch the sourdough toast with beets and the salad with buttermilk dressing. Everything was made to order and so fresh. Excellent presentation.

Total $300 which DIDN'T include the tip or drinks, SO it was actually a $400 evening, I chose the fillet mignon which was wrapped in a dough pastry and I must say that I was pretty disappointed because when you order fillet, who the hell serves it well done??? That's exactly what I got, a well done filet mignon wrapped in dough (Shameful)..... which wasn't all that great. My date got the mushroom ravioli, which was OK at best I guess. What I'm trying to say is it just wasn't worth dropping $400 for 2 people ( waaay overpriced, hence my disappointment and truthful review) because it was Valentine's Day....... the entertainment was crappy too, some guy who played piano and trumpet and I couldn't even hear him in the room I was in so basically ZERO entertainment I definitely won't be going back here based on this experience, sorry to report.

When we finished our meals I knew that the chef had a real talent for understanding food and I mean really understanding the culinary arts. I told him that I would be writing a review and compared him to Daniel Boulud. I still agree with this statement from what I remember about the meal but it's been a long time coming. My mom ordered the mushroom soup and normally I'm not a fan of mushroom soup but this was INCREDIBLE. The flavors were exquisite and the soup was creamy and the ingredients were fresh. I myself ordered the pasta dish at the time and it was creamy and delicious and flavorful. I know that the rest of my party enjoyed their meals and I knew I needed to speak to the chef. I'm glad I did. He was really nice.

Purchasing the suggested pairings (ahead of time) added to the overall experience. We also had wines that were brought on preference and the paired wines won out every time as they perfectly complemented the prepared courses. Our two servers were friendly and attentive, explaining every course and refilling our wines without asking. Present, yet out of the way. The atmosphere is very cozy in the back of the cafe at Talula's Table - the original table as opposed to the smaller kitchen table added a few years back. Reservations still take a year (though it's easier to snag a cancelation or weekday as they recently added online reservations in April 2026). However, it was well worth the wait (and I'm not sure why I waited so long to try it)! We left stuffed between the hors d'oevres, eight courses, bread, surprise course, and plenty of wine to wash everything down. We experienced the Spring 2026 menu and look forward to dining again in another season.

You could rely on the local specialities like snapper soup, mushroom bisque and the house-made crab cakes. All that is gone now. Now the 1906 menu is a sort of Whole-Food Nutrition and Macro / Fitness fusion cuisine. Simply put: very veggie, low fat, not particularly pathbreaking, and only modestly flavorful. I don't think Mr. DuPont would approve. The ambiance is lovely... but I considered the old restaurant to be a very tastefully appointed dining room. Suffice to say, the small improvement in the aura of the room hardly counterbalances the decline of the cuisine.

While we didn't bring any kids......kids would love the section of the garden just for them! As for dinner.....it was superb. Highly advise making reservation in advance although they are not required. Every seat has a beautiful view of the fountains. There is a fairly large bar area with food service so if you prefer not to make reservations there is plenty of seating for those that just drop in. Very nice "garden" theme throughout the restaurant---almost makes you feel like you are still out in the gardens. Service was great as there were multiple individuals beyond our server making sure we taken care of. Given this was our first dinner here we tried a little of everything and it is worth noting that where possible everything is locally sourced or better yet---from their own gardens. Started with sampling their tomato terrine and if you like juicy tomatoes and sourdough you have to try this! Our dinners focused on a fish dish and a pasta dish with many ingredients from their garden. The ocean trout was cooked to a velvety perfection and served with a mix of garden veggies. The agnolotti pasta dish was a stuffed pasta with sweet corn and it offered both a creamy and crunchy finish....you could smell the sweetness in the corn. Both were great! To finish off dinner we shared one of their signature desserts, the Caramelia---if you like chocolate mousse just order it. You will not be disappointed! Overall, a great fine dinning experience. Everything priced about what you would expect for a fine dinning experience.
