I ordered a set of buttercream floral cupcakes from Sweet Bella Blooms for my mom's birthday, and they could not have been more perfect. I always struggle to find just the right gift for my mom, so I told Melissa ahead of time that my mom especially loves pink protea flowers, and she absolutely delivered. The protea bloom she piped was stunning, and the whole box was filled with the most gorgeous hibiscus, peonies, and chrysanthemum-style flowers in pinks, whites, and greens. They honestly looked too pretty to eat. But they tasted just as good as they looked. The cupcakes were vanilla, moist and delicious, and the buttercream wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. So often these decorated cupcakes are all looks and no flavor, but these had both. What really stood out to me was Melissa's attention to detail. She took the personal note I gave her and turned it into something so thoughtful and meaningful. My mom was genuinely touched, which is exactly what I was hoping for. If you are looking for a beautiful, custom, made-with-love gift on Maui, I cannot recommend Sweet Bella Blooms enough. I actually had several other "high end" bakeries tell me to "just go to WalMart". The burger also had some spice to it! It had some pickled jalapenos on it and they added the perfect heat. I loved it. The garlic fries were perfectly fried and crispy and had a great garlic flavor and kick. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to island.

As I watched them create my drink and make my breakfast sandwich I was sad not to see the green from the matcha as it looked like it was just a Ube drink and my breakfast sandwich was delicious though wished they heated up the pandesal a bit as it was just cold. The service is nice and polite as they made drinks quite fast and efficient, I do hope to see them return here as I really want to try the Turon coffee which I guess is the perk that Maui has. Kapwa Coffee Bar is a fun new addition to Kahului's coffee scene, at the Akaku Center near Amigos…read more They're a small stand, serving up Filipino-inspired drinks like Turon and Bibingka-flavored coffee, Buko Pandan Cloud, and other creative options. I've mostly given up my coffee ways lately, but I think I've found my new go-to alternative here -- their Ube Matcha Milk Tea. I've tried it with both oat milk and whole milk, and surprisingly, I prefer the oat milk version. It gives the drink a thicker, creamier texture and really lets the ube flavor shine over the matcha (which I love). The drinks come in pretty generous sizes -- 20oz or 24oz -- though I'd personally love to see a 16oz option for iced drinks. I've yet to finish a full 20oz before the caffeine buzz kicks in! My only other suggestion would be to add a touch more ice as it often melts before I can even get to my office. I also tried the pandesal breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon, which was decent -- nothing too fancy, but it did the job. So far, I've really enjoyed my visits here. There's never been a line, service is quick, and I'm usually in and out in under 10 minutes. It's a convenient stop with some creative drinks you won't find elsewhere. Next on my try list is the Ube Taro Cloud! If you're looking to switch up your usual coffee run and try something uniquely Filipino-inspired, Kapwa Coffee Bar is definitely worth a stop!
