What a charming little town Marble Falls is. The drive out to Sweet Berry Farm alone sets the tone with all the rolling hills and beautiful scenery. Even though we had chilly weather and a little rain, it didn't stop us one bit. We ended up picking close to seven pounds of fresh strawberries and they were so tasty and juicy. The whole experience of walking row by row and picking the perfect berry was so much fun. There's even a helpful little sign explaining how to pick the strawberries properly so they last longer. *Pro tip, leave a bit of the stem on the strawberry as you pick them, they stay fresh longer. We learned that after the fact, but we'll definitely do it right next time. The farm is huge, around 152 acres of expansive land, which was very green, open, and peaceful. It wasn't crowded at all the day we went, which made it even more enjoyable. The kids had a blast. They have a cute little train ride, a fun bouncing area, and plenty of space for the kiddies to run around. The goats were a big highlight for us. You can buy feed for 25 cents a tiny cup, and we went through four pretty quickly - you might want to grab more upfront because they close at 5 and we didn't get a chance to go back for more goat feed. The setup around the goat area was really nice and whimsical, and there's just so much open space to explore and walk and get fresh air. They also have a small gift shop with ice cream and little goodies, which was a nice touch after being out in the fields. Overall, it was such a peaceful, fun, and memorable day. Beautiful views, great atmosphere, and a perfect mix of activities for both kids and adults. We'll absolutely be back. Easily a five star experience. read more

It's an annual tradition for my daughters and I to go strawberry picking at Sweet Berry Farms. We kept up with our tradition, braved the heat and visited this past weekend. Love that they don't charge entry fees! They provide you with a box for the berries and charge $3.75 per pound. My girls and I had so much fun picking the berries and eating them after! We also love the farm's homemade strawberry popsicles and ice cream - absolutely delicious. They also offer pick your own flowers, a bouncy area, a barrel train ride, and various arts and crafts activities for kids. There are also baby goats to feed! After Rockberry Ranch closed outside of San Antonio I was looking for a new spot to meet my strawberry and flower picking needs. Sweetberry farm in Marble Falls offers both until the season is over. The strawberry fields are vast with plenty of space for everyone. Definitely bring rainboots because there may be mud and sand. The strawberry picking is by the pound and I think it's around $3/pound. The flower field is a bit smaller, but has plenty of flower picking. They charge per bud even if there is a small bud so you have to be a little more calculated with the selection. The concessions are only on the weekends so keep that in mind if coming on a Thursday or Friday. Overall I would say definitely worth the drive and made for a really fun day. read more

Great weather for checking out their pumpkin patch. The goat area was cool, they have some kibble that you can buy to feed them. Tractor train was a real hit with the toddlers! Lots of activities to do at this farm. There is no entrance fee. You choose to pay for the activities that you do such as jumping pad, pumpkin patch, corn maze, flower picking, different craft stations such as painting pumpkins, sand art, and building a scarecrow! The strawberry picking was fun. The berries were great and it was a good experience. HOWEVER, We arrived at 4pm, knowing we only had an hour until close. We wanted to pick some strawberries and paint a souvenir pot for my parents to take back to Europe. Because of time, we asked the lady who welcomed us which we should do first, she told us the strawberry picking, and that we could paint a pot afterwards. We finished strawberry picking at 4.25. We then went over to paint pot and was told by a different lady 'no'. I mentioned that we wouldn't need to plant the seed as it wouldn't be able to travel to Europe, all we wanted was to paint a pot, which we'd do quickly and even take home wet, so my family could have as a memory. To which she said 'no, we're already cleaning the brushes'. Cleaning up 35minutes before you close? It all seemed very petty and unnecessary. I understand if we walked in 5 minutes before close, but 35minutes? You'd think being a small farm they'd show more hospitality - not quite the southern charm expected. Wouldnt go back. Sweet Berry Farm is truly a gem. My friends and I came on a Sunday, and we spent the entire day here. It was honestly one of the best days I've had in a while. The entire farm is organized so well, and the vibes are immaculate. There's so much to do, and I love that even though my friends are much younger than most of the families who come here, we had a blast. We spent a lot of time picking out our flowers, and the flower are GORGEOUS. I love that they give you a really cute vase because I've been to other flower farms and they usually just give you a plastic cup. It displayed so cutely in my kitchen! My friends and I also bought shirts and ice cream, and the ice cream was DELICIOUS. It reminded me a lot of Haagen Daz's strawberry ice cream. It's a fun outing and some decent strawberries. We lived in SoCal and in Carlsbad, they have the most amazing strawberry field anywhere in the world. We are missing our freshly picked strawberries so I did a search and who would guessed there is a strawberry field about 15 minutes from us! Friend Tip: bring plastic garbage bags and a change of shoes. And wear some boots with some traction to them. Otherwise, you are liking to find yourself on your backside in a pile of thick mud. Fortunately, we were prepared so it wasn't an issue. Just took the shoes off, threw them in a plastic bag and placed in our trunk along with the freshly picked strawberries. We arrived when they first opened and the parking is in a dirt lot but it's dry. You are given a box with a handle to go and start picking and you pay at the end when they weigh out your collection. The fields are quite big... but pickings were slim. Maybe there were bigger, plump strawberries last month but right now it's mostly tiny berries that haven't ripened. Because I had boots on and didn't mind them getting muddy, I went to areas that it seemed others avoided and was able to find more of the bigger ripe berries. There are lots of weeds and the berries just seem to be largely unattended. They also have some fields where you can cut fresh flowers. For even the berries we did pick, they are nice tasting, but not the best strawberries. They are kind of soft and not very firm. And of the berries we did find that were of an average size, they seem to split open. We did pick flowers but they are fairly small stemmed flowers and really don't look like anything special. They charge for every "bud" and we ended up paying $10 for a bunch of flowers that look much like the wild flowers growing in our backyard. They have a lot of activities for kids and it seems like a fun family event. But if you are here just for some quality strawberries, you are not likely to get them. Next year we will try coming at the beginning of the season to see if they are bigger/fresher. But if you ever have a chance to visit the strawberry fields in Carlsbad, CA you will have the most amazing strawberries ever in your life. read more

This was a special experience for tulip season. It was an exciting lead-up not knowing which days the flowers will bloom and then a mad rush to get there ASAP once they did. By the time we made it early on Day 2, about 80% of the blooms were already plucked. We were a bit disappointed to not get those gorgeous flower fields photos you see advertised. We brought the kids here and had a blast! We went around the time they opened so there was barely any people there. Since we went right at the beginning of June, we were able to pick strawberries still. Since it had rained the night before it was a little muddy (totally expected since you are literally going out into the fields), but the kids really enjoyed picking the strawberries. They also have other activities including seeing the goats. The baby goats snuck out of their pen and were super friendly. They let the kids pet them and were very sweet. They also really enjoyed the berry bounce. It was a great way for them to work off some energy and be ready for a nap when we left! Other activities that are available that we didn't try include the train ride, sand art, and paint a pot. It was also sunflower season so you have the option to also cut your own sunflowers. You pay for each activity separately so you can pick as little or as much as you want to do. We also had their homemade strawberry ice cream and lemonade. The ice cream was delicious and was a bigger portion than I was expecting. The lemonade was freshly squeezed and was so good and refreshing. It was a great way to finish off our visit! This is a great place to visit with the kids. It will keep them entertained for at least a couple of hours and having fun outside! We will definitely be back to visit. read more

the first time I checked this place out was to do a photoshoot for someone and this was the location they chose. Its a great farm with lots of things to do. Bunch of different activities like the bounce area for kids, crafts area in the different barns/houses, stores for tshirt etc, then they have more land across the road that you can get to through a tunnel that goes underneath the road. Even walking to the other side was an adventure. We came the 2nd time for the maze. They had about 3 of them and the Texas maze was the biggest one and thats the one we chose. It was me with my hubby, son & grandson. We had a blast in the maze and the hayride. We also fed the goats as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made the experience all the more better and my boys had fun. I definitely would recommend this place and of course they have photo props as well to take great pics. This New England gal was so tired of the hot and endless Texas heat that I decided to go to SBF opening weekend. I thought it would be okay going in the morning but it was already 95 when they opened at 11. So I highly recommend waiting on your day trip to Marble Falls until the temps come down a little bit. It seems odd to open so late bc pumpkin patch, farm, apple picking type activities all seem like an early morning activity to me. They have a nice selection of pumpkins - different colors, shapes, and styles. The corn stalks were expensive imo but the staff said they sell out quickly so grab some if they in all of your autumn inspiration pins. I opted for hay bales to go with my stainless steel tubs. They sell homemade ice cream, jam, spreads, and t-shirts so plan on grabbing a spoon or some swag to take home. Guys if you are reading this - be romantic or adventurous and splurge on the GIANT pumpkins ($60 bucks a pop or so) for the special someone in your life that absolutely loves autumn!!! Cute black vintage truck for a fun photo opt and lots of activities for the kiddos - the "stuff a scarecrow" seems like a nice family activity but I think would be funnier with wine We filled up two wheel barrels and it seems like a "big score" but the heat must have gotten to me bc when I got home I quickly realized my small cottage has a big porch Just remember no dogs allowed so leave your furry ones at home. I've been visiting Sweet Berry Farm for years, and they do such a good job. Great for kids obviously, but all ages can have a good time. My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday, and it was busy. But if you get there early enough, it's not too bad. The ticketing system makes it really easy. All you do is go to the cashier, tell them the activities you want to do and they give you tickets for each one. Berry season totally snuck up on me this year and I just barely made it out to my go-to farm back home for the first strawberries of the season before leaving for Texas. California is known for it's fruit production, and while everyone might swear by Carlsbad for the absolute best, NorCal isn't too far behind. I was surprised to find that there was strawberry picking at all out in these parts, but when I found this spot and saw the reviews I figured it would at least be worth a shot. Little did I know what I would be in for. When we pulled into the parking lot, the farm looked very small. As we walked up to the welcome booth, I realized that it only looked small because the land is flat. Originally I just wanted to go for the sunflowers because I didn't have too much faith that there would be any strawberries left, but we paid admission, took up a box, and headed into the strawberry fields to see what we could find. The nice lady at the welcome booth informed us that the strawberries would be slim pickings and that they just had a very wet season, but what I didn't expect that to mean was that the ends of every row would have a half foot of thick mud for me to maneuver around. I quickly ended up caking both of my sneakers fully in mud, so I am not kidding when I recommend bringing the rain boots. The strawberries are definitely smaller than what they were back home, and a lot of the plants had swarms of fruit flies so you'll know which areas to avoid. After about a half hour of hoping we wouldn't fall into the mud, we finally made away with a little over three pounds of strawberries. After concluding our strawberry hunt, we headed into the sunflower fields. The sunflowers were very pretty but most of them didn't have that dark black center that looks the most aesthetically pleasing, so we didn't take any stems to go. The sunflower field was much less muddy than the strawberry ones, but there were definitely still some areas that made me sink into the ground. Don't be surprised to receive a good number of bug bites from this excursion, it would've been a good idea to bring the bug spray. After we finished at the sunflower field, we did a couple more rows of the other strawberry field next to it. There are three strawberry fields in total and the two that we went into seemed on par with each other in terms of muddiness and strawberry quality. We wanted to check out the gift shop but it was closed, so we went to weigh our berries, picked up a strawberry popsicle, got a plastic bag for our muddy shoes (they didn't have a hose), and hopped in the car to head home. The strawberry popsicle is made with the farm strawberries and was very refreshing, the strawberries themselves tasted good once we washed them up later that same day and the next day. The price per pound here is greater than the price I paid back home, and considering that you have to pay the sunflower entry fee to get in (I believe even if you only want to go for strawberries) makes this a pay for the one-time experience in my book. We got very muddy, a lot of bug bites, and almost ended up sunburnt. Although it's not the experience I expected, I still had lots of fun. read more

Let's talk about strawberries! This little farm is so worth the 1 hour drive to get there. Get there early if you're serious about picking some berries because this place gets busy!! Super nice folks and plenty of strawberries. Plus they have activities for the kiddos. Not to mention home made ice cream!! It's a great family outing or even day time date! Well we decided this last weekend to catch some end of season strawberry picking or rather my mother decided it would be a good idea I don't know why listen to her. However, this place is pretty awesome I've never been here before and everybody was really friendly they have a ton of activities. We didn't stick around too long though because it was so hot but I can't wait to go back next month when they have sunflowers I believe. We tried some fresh strawberry Popsicles which were really delicious and we actually managed to pick half of a container of strawberries and they were very sweet even though they were tiny. my daughter really wanted to go on the train but I was just ready for some air-conditioning. Since we came in the middle of the day, a lot of the flowers had already been picked, but it seems that if you come earlier there is a huge selection. Came with the family on a Sunday and we were one of the first ones there. As we collected our basket, we were told that the fields were picked through and they dont think there was much left. We walked three fields of strawberries and we didnt even find a whole pound of strawberries to pick. Family fun. Went here to pick strawberries but that really didn't happen. We went the week after spring break and most strawberries were gone. Our son did have fun scavenging for a few strawberries and the other activities. He did a train ride, bounce pad and lot planting. I think the total on those 3 were close to $11. The bounce pad is pretty awesome. It's huge and you get 10 minutes. When we went the guy was distracted and he got 20 minutes. The train ride looked pretty bumpy and uncomfortable but our son seemed to enjoy it. Painting the pot was fun. They had lots of colors and after the paint dries you can plant a few seeds. A few of my friends and I made the drive out here this past fall. It was about an hour away for us, but definitely worth the drive!! I got a sausage wrap, which was tasty, and a maple pumpkin scone, which I highly recommend!!
