I live out of state and was trying to organize a bereavement gift for a group of us who worked together for a colleague who recently had a death in the family. I made a phone call and within 20 minutes had made a decision about everything that the bakery could do to send a berevement basket to our friends home. The owner suggested a combination of savory and sweet calm sweet, and I know I put my purchase in good hands and I am confident that my basket will show up and be something beautiful for this family to enjoy a while they grieve. I was very happy with the services that could be provided to my ask, even at a great distance. Although I don't have a photo yet, I'm sure that our friends will send us a picture and I will come back on and add it to this review. Oh my..... I was staying in the suburbs of Atlanta and needed something sweet. So I looked up bakeries and Sweet Brown Suga popped up. After reading the reviews...all of them good. I decided to head on out in search of a sweet delight. Well after about a 10 minute ride give or take I found my sweet oasis. I ordered 2 strawberry cupcakes with strawberry buttercream...yum... and a peach lemonade ( I had to) The place is cute ...I was served by a very pleasant young female and after paying I opted not to stay but to go on back to my hotel. Ok let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed the peach lemonade not too sweet and not too tart with just the right amount of peach in it...a winner plus I was there the end of September and it was 94 degrees...That peach lemonade hit the spizot! When I got back to my room...I decided I could not wait any longer and bit one of my cupcakes...oh yessss...very strawberrily..moist yummy goodness. The strawberry buttercream melted in my mouth I did take off some frosting b/c I don't like mounds of frosting ...(my preference) but yes indeed the cupcakes were all that! I absolutely hate when people sell c.c. and they're dry tasteless and expensive..You do not have to worry about that at Sweet Brown Suga. You need to come to Philly!!!! read more

My first time here and Service was SLOW, which is why the 3/5. The soup and salad was tasty and a Deviled egg in salad was a sweet touch. Dessert was delicious. I'd like to try more desserts, however since the service is slow, I'm probably not going to try any more cafe items. read more

Was looking for something specific to satisfy my sweet tooth yesterday afternoon and stumbled across this gem. This is a must stop shop! The bakery is a cute little shop offering a great selection of sweet treats with a few savory quiches thrown in (I really want to try one of those quiches). We ended up getting a classic brownie bar, a turtle brownie bar, a strawberry brownie bar, lemon bar, and red velvet cupcake (There were three of us!). So far, everything has been delicious! Holy cow they hit a home run with the thumb print cookie I just devoured!! Went for lunch with my friend. They have home made soups too. I had a pesto chicken sandwich. It was yummy but the major draw here is the yummy confections! Not only are the desserts eye appealing but truly oh so yummy! Took home some chocolate chip cookies and butter bars. My aunt and I had the best afternoon delight the other day at Sweet Brown Suga!!! We had the Butter Bars, Turtle Brownie(OMG!!!) both were to DIE FOR!!! I recently ordered a specialty cake from them. The cake itself was good I got buttercream filling which was over sweet even for my very sweet likes. I also got a cookies and cream filling which was really good. I think the filling layers could be thinner and a bit thicker cake layer is almost hard to get the complete flavor, the filling was doble the size. As far as decoration the cake was beautiful however I specifically requested buttercream I even changed the color of my cake so I could get buttercream instead of fondant. My party was outdoor but I had the cake setup inside under AC. I was not able to display my cake as it was melting right off. I was disappointed as I know this is an issue with fondant which is why I wanted buttercream. I feel they didn't understand/met my specific request. I don't know if I would order from them again unless I'm specifically looking for a fondant cake. read more
